Chapter 4: The Holland Mansion

How well do you know the Holland family? I asked Bryan on our way to the hospital to see Dad.

“We have been business partners for a while… he is a very nice and polite man you’ve met him before during the dinner remember.” Yes, I remember but am I getting married to an old man?

Bryan looked at my face and asked what the problem was and all of a sudden he started laughing hard, “Do you think you are getting married to the grandfather.”

Curiosity was written all over my face… Bryan eventually stopped laughing and said “Mr. Holland has a grandson but he is someone people regard as invisible his sister Grace is the one everyone knows. She even comes for business meetings with her grandfather”

I let out a breath I didn’t realize I was holding “So I am getting married to the invisible Mr. Holland”

“Yes, you can say that… I have a business meeting with the visible Mr. Holland you should come with me. Although I have never seen your future. Husband. Mr. Holland assured me that he is of good behavior and he will treat you right.” Bryan said

“Consider this a win-win situation” he continued.

How?

“This way the company will be out of bankruptcy, I can pay for Dad's medical bills and you can finally be out of the house with those two people you consider evil and I will be sure of your safety” I was in tears that Bryan loved me this much.

After the meeting at the Holland mansion, a date for the wedding was set.

I went to the Holland mansion a couple of times for the wedding planning but I never for once met my future husband.

I had a meeting with Grace, I got to the mansion she wasn’t home yet so I decided to wait in the garden instead so I could feel the fresh atmosphere.

As I sat on the beautiful wooden chair I could feel an awkward presence I looked around and no one was there.

“Grace, Grace is that you?” no one answered.

Although the atmosphere was beautiful the awkward feeling I was having was too uncomfortable. As I stood up to leave my eyes looked up and I saw someone staring at me.

Although there was a distance I could feel goosebumps all over my body so I quickly broke the stare in rushed back into the living room.

Grace was just coming into the house when I was stepping into the living room… we had some biscuits and juice while talking about the wedding.

It was getting dark so I decided to go but I stopped to use the little lady's room and as soon as I was stepping out the lights went out the corridor was very dark and I didn’t have my phone on me.

Suddenly I felt a presence and then I heard clearly “You better decline this marriage or I will make your life as dark as this corridor” I suddenly felt so cold and very scared.

The lights suddenly came on and I hurried to get my bag and out the door. I waited outside for my taxi and I still felt that uncomfortable stare.
