Eunice
My classmates’ eyes were on me as I entered the classroom. They were all giving me confused and curious looks as I went to my seat. Normally, I wouldn’t care about it because I don’t want other people’s opinions to get to me. But right now, they are looking at me like they are judging me…and Josiah.
I opened my book and just focused on the lesson that we will discuss today. I tried to shake off all the stares because I refuse to give their stares some validation.
My phone suddenly vibrated.
Josiah: I’m in my room now.
My heart immediately raced the moment I read Josiah’s name on the screen. Sometimes, I think this is not healthy. I feel like if my heart continues to react like this to him, I would see death earlier than my right time.
I was going to ignore it but then as I was going to put my phone back inside my bag, it vibrated again.
Josiah: This is so boring. I can
JosiahWatching Eunice eat is so fascinating, especially now because of the curious eyes of her friends.I know that they know how Eunice and I started. They were at the wedding and they probably know a lot about our marriage.Nanette was throwing me glances as I continued to feeding Eunice. She heaved a heavy breath. “Are you serious with our friend?”Eunice stopped chewing and narrowed her eyes at her friend. She was obviously taken aback and I can’t deny that I am, too.Among all her friends, I believe Nanette and Mitch are the straight-forward ones. Mona was obviously quiet but I believe that she’s like Dorian. She only talks once but it seeps into the system.I looked at Nanette and nodded. “I am.”Nanette raised her brows. Mitch leaned on the table as she gave me a look like asking me to elaborate more on that. Mona was blankly staring at me like she’s trying to weigh me
EuniceMona’s words bothered me the whole day. I didn’t even know what to tell Josiah to make it up to him.“Don’t look at me like that,” Mona chirped when she caught me glaring at her.We are now in the hideout as we’re about to discuss our game plan. Well, we don’t really have a game plan. We just love talking about the gangs that we beat who keep sending us gang fight invitations.I took a deep breath and cocked my head to the side. “What was that? You totally acted so rude to Josiah!”Mona gave me a confused look. “I was stating a fact.”Nanette laughed while Mitch was shaking her head.“Yes, but did you have to act that way? You looked like you hate him!” I exclaimed.Mona nodded. “I hate guys like him so there must be some truth to your words.”My jaw dropped at what she said. Mona was usually quiet but when s
JosiahWhen I finished taking a bath, Eunice was gone. She wasn’t in our room.I sighed and went to bed. I don’t know if I still have some guts to show myself to her after what happened to her. Now, I’m the biggest asshole in the whole universe.I took my phone and saw Eunice’s message for me.Eunice: Where are you?My heart immediately constricted upon reading her message. She was worried about me. I can see from her expression when I got here. She wanted to know what happened but backed away.Fuck. I broke my promised to her. I told her I will break up with Hannah but I didn’t. I was so into the fact that my mother told her about my marriage that I couldn’t bring myself to end it with her.All this time, Hannah has been keeping all her pain from me. I felt awful and somewhat responsible for that.I waited for an hour until the bedroom door opened. Eunice came on and walked
EuniceI wanted to punch Kyle Kim’s face. He’s been trying to hold my hand even though I was so adamant in letting him know that I don’t want to.I hated how I accidentally saw him in a café I stopped over before going to school. I regretted telling Nanette that she could go ahead of me.“Hey,” he cockily said as he saw me ordering coffee on the counter.I decided to ignore him and just focused on ordering but when I was about to pay for my coffee, he handed his card onto the cashier. “Use this for her coffee,” he said.I turned to him, annoyed at what he did. “I can pay for that.”He shrugged. “I know.”I narrowed my eyes at him. “Then why did you have to pay for it?” My voice was almost rising because I am not in the best mood this morning and yet I have to face this asshole.“Because I can,” he replied simply.
JosiahI am fuming mad when I entered the room. Everyone seemed bothered at how hard I slammed the door as I got in.Sage, who is my classmate for this subject, looked at me with a weird expression as I pulled the chair beside him.“Wassup?” he asked as he played with his pen.I took a deep breath. “Nothing,” I replied, refusing to tell him anything because I know how annoying he could be when he knows something. He raised his brow and I know that would ponder on it more than I could even imagine. This guy is annoyingly gossipy.“I don’t believe you, dude.”I rolled my eyes and kept quiet as I tried to calm myself.I cannot believe how Eunice could do that to me! Did she just blatantly leave me for Kyle fucking Kim? Damn it!“If this is about Eunice and Kyle Kim then I think you somehow deserved it,” Sage chimed like it was nothing.I
EuniceJosiah’s lips hovered on top of mine while he kept my hands raised over my head.I couldn’t think. All I could think about is how his tongue expertly swiped my lips, making me think of other worldly things! I wanted to stop kissing back but it seems like my mouth had a mind of its own.My heart is beating incredibly fast as he cupped my face, deepening his hot kisses on me. He bit my lower lip and sucked on them before kissing me tenderly once again. He plunged his tongue inside my mouth as he kissed me tenderly. He angled his head to the other side and continued to shower me with his dizzying kisses.I had already confirmed that I am completely ruined for Josiah. My heart and my mind can’t seem to agree with how I feel for him. I don’t want to like him but I couldn’t stop my heart.I can’t stop myself from falling for him. I should try harder, though, because I know that he is not
JosiahIt’s been two long fucking weeks that Eunice is acting like there’s nothing between us. She is not ignoring me but it is so obvious she’s almost apathetic towards me.Her words still linger in my head. She didn’t want to be my second option. She didn’t want to receive an attention that she doesn’t deserve. Her words haunted me for that whole day that I couldn’t do anything but to ask Hannah to talk to me.Suddenly, all I want to protect Eunice’s heart. Suddenly, all I want to save is Eunice. I hate that she’s acting so tough when in know that she’s already crying inside. Her tear-streaked face brought me nightmares. Even when I close my eyes, all I can see is her weak smile as she told me that she doesn’t want to be someone’s second choice.Fuck.Dorian has been snarky at me all throughout, especially now that we’re watching Kyle Kim
EuniceDamn it.That Gerstruck member hit me hard on the arm and neck tonight. I needed to get some medical supplies at a nearby pharmacy and had to sprout numerous lies just to answer and assure the cashier who had given me a curious look.“You sure you want to go home with that?” Mona asked me when I was about to leave the hideout.I looked at my right arm which had a long abrasion, not to mention how my neck stings because of a cut. “Yes, I can manage.”I decided to leave the hideout and hail a cab ten blocks away from our headquarters.I can’t help but curse out that gang member who gave me all these bruises. That was illegal because she used a knife. Now, I wish for her to rot in jail because the police came when they were all down on the floor.I arrived home wincing in pain whenever I move my head. I am still thinking about the excuses I would tell Nela and Josiah if they ask about
