Chapter 127

Lucy's pov;

At Jake's graduation, since Mr Johnson was in Hawaii on a business trip, mother and I came to Jake's graduation. While Jake was with his friends, I sat next to mom and watched the stage decorated with flowers and ribbons. Mom got a call and left me alone with other parents.

As I watched from the front, someone tapped me on the shoulder, making me look at them. There was a man in his forties who asked, "You look familiar..." I stood up and walked away from the man, only to meet someone else. I apologised and as I tried to leave, I heard them call my name, "Lucy?"

When I looked at the person I was apologising to, it was Mrs. Smith. She held my shoulders and asked, "Lucy, is it really you?" When I tried to leave, she asked, "What did I do to see you avoid me?" I stopped in my tracks and stood there not knowing what to do or what to say. She held my hand and took me backstage and hugged me. A warm hug after a long time. She pulled back from the hug and asked, "How are you?"
