ALESSANDRO

Although she doesn't know that I've been tailing her and she won't find out.

As I ask again, “Where are you off to little one? I'm not a fan of repeating myself.” I added.

I see her cute little eyes widen in recognition; I rush forward toward her and ask her, “Where are you off to?”

“Nowhere” she replied quietly

I could not believe my ears, “I have things to do.” she Continued

“What things?”

“Things! All right? Now back off.”

She put her hands on my chest and gave me a shove.

I didn’t move.

She put her hands on her hips and glared at me.

“I have to go .” She whispered

I didn’t move, didn’t speak, didn't do anything, I just stared down at her with a set look.

I closed my eyes and took a mental breath. I caught a glimpse of her flight ticket in her back pocket and snatched it right out of there. She was running away.

I put the ticket away in the inner pocket of the suit, “ give that back,” she snapped as she tried to jump and snatch the ticket from me. Immediately I bend down and pick her up.

“ Oh My God you did not just pick me up at the airport,” she screams. I grab her bag, bring out my phone, and call Cesare. “ Bring the car around,” I Instruct.

“You are gonna learn that there are consequences for being a brat,” I tell her and she suddenly becomes docile in my arms. As I put her down in front of the car and she climbs in I look at her face as it turns a very beautiful shade of crimson.

“You don't say things like that in public,” she reprimands me. I forget I'm a don in front of her. She doesn't give a damn. She just says whatever comes to mind. It's refreshing.

The Cesare coughs to interrupt. “Where to ales,” he asks, “The villa,” I reply.

Since I saw her at the meeting between families, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about Lorena.

After Cesare found out everything he could about her. And with the way her family behaved with her in the meeting, It’s clear that her family has no loyalty towards her.

But not willing to just believe every word coming out of her mouth. I know she can fucking lie. I know her already how she touches the tip of her nose twice when she lies.

I drink in her beauty from where I'm sitting in the car as the wind ruffles her curls. Even though her soft brown irises are trembling with fear, she doesn’t break eye contact.

She has more guts than that shady father of hers, who offered her to me on a silver platter because he wants her off his hands.

It aggravates the fuck out of me that she had to run away from her family in the mafia world. That's treason; she was prepared to die to avoid this marriage.

I’ve also found out Calvino was waiting until she’s twenty-five. Because she will get access to her inheritance from her grandparents, and Calvino probably wants it.

It fucking infuriates me.

Staring at the woman who’s popped into my mind more than I care to admit, I can see how innocent she is.

When Cesare looked into Lorena’s life, he couldn’t find a single black mark against her.

This woman is as pure as they come.

In my world, she’s rare, and I like to collect unique things.

Looking at her face now, she is getting drowsy. I slid into the back seat next to her, and when I adjusted for space, her head came to rest on my lap.

She had hair for days, so dark I remember having it in my hands when I fucked her, I went to slide my fingers through her ponytail but stopped the impulse when I realized the ridiculous shit I just thought.

Hitting my thirties had made me disgustingly sentimental. Long dark eyelashes rested on cheeks untouched by makeup. Full, parted lips. She looked innocent and vulnerable.

“We are here,” Cesare rumbled.

“Tesoro, wake up,” I stated.

“Hmm, where?” She inquired.

“The Moravia Villa” I answered.

Immediately all traces of sleep fled from her.

The slim column of her graceful throat worked as she swallowed, watching me as if deciding whether she should believe me or run for the hills.

“Do you trust me?”

She let out a choked laugh. “I don’t know you.”

“Sure you do,” I said, brushing my lips over hers. “After all, you’ve seen every inch of me.”

She gulped, a flush working its way over her creamy skin. “That night is kind of hazy.”

I chuckled.

“A reminder, then.”

It was a half-teasing, half-serious attempt to break this tension that brewed between us. It would be better for both of us if this sizzling attraction were nonexistent.

But here we were, drowning in it like it was our lifeline. At least, I knew it was my lifeline. A reason that I had been searching for.

“Don’t be afraid. I’ll never hurt you, Lorena.” Then because I couldn’t resist, I added, “Not unless it involves giving you mind-blowing pleasure”

She gasped, her eyes widened, and her mouth gaped, tempting me with the image of my cock sliding between those plump lips.

Her cheeks flushed crimson, almost contrasting the shade of her beautiful dark hair. My fingers itched to touch her long locks, spilling in waves of dark silky hair down her back and wrapping them around my fist.

I forced that vivid image out of my mind. I didn’t need a hard-on while trying to work this out with her. We will end up in a church with wedding bells, but she doesn't need to know that yet, I wanted to keep her as mine.

“My Tesoro.” I ran a thumb across her parted lips. “If I tell you this city would eat you alive, believe me.”I just didn’t tell her I owned her and everything in it.

I needed to pull my head out of my ass, but I feared it was too late. This minx cast a spell on me, and there was no getting away. Her small palms came to my chest and she gently nudged me away.

And climbed down from the car.
