When I was done preparing, I looked at my mirror countless times just to make sure I did not look small when standing next to him, after all he has the type of face that makes every other thing around him look like stone. After I confirmed that there was no way I would look inferior next to him, I picked up my bag and stepped out of the room to the living room.

 But unfortunately, those who I call family were yet to leave and they seemed to be discussing something important, they all turned to me and looked at me as soon as they noticed my presence, “Where are you going dressed like that?” Mom asked as soon as she looked at me.

“I’m going to meet my friends.” I replied without looking at her.

“When did you start dressing that way to meet with friends, and I’m sure Luna went on a vacation so I’m still wondering which friend you are going to see with face full of makeup.” Jeremy looked at me scornfully, I just know that he has a lot to say.

“Dad, tell your wife and son to leave me alone. When did they start caring about where I go to? they are still the same person that said that I am rotting away at home.” I pouted and stared at my dad, hoping that he would at least save me.

And just as I expected, he did just that, “Let her go, is a rare moment to see her so dressed up. Luna, just go and come back safe.” Dad sided with me instantly, as I went over to give him a hug.

“You are the only person that actually loves me in this world.” I turned around and left the house, “Don’t forget to take the twins with you, and be safe” I heard Dad’s voice behind me as I walked to my car.

Getting to the car, the twins were already there waiting for me, “Even if I tell you not to come, you won’t listen to me, right?”

“We must be there to protect you, that’s the least we can do since we can’t tell them who you are meeting today.” Noah said without a change in his expression. I rolled my eyes at his words not surprised and got into the back seat of the car while Nelly drove, and Noah sat in the copilot seat.

We headed to the destination, while I sat there hoping that nothing goes, what if they accuse me of scam, how will I defend myself. There is not any written document or anything I could use, but come to think of it, how did I easily believe his words without further confirmation, “Miss, we are here.”

“OK. This place is full of money. Even my parents’ money cannot book me a place here”

“It is obvious that he is not an ordinary man.” Nelly stood behind me while looking up at the building, I nodded, “I don’t know what he wants, but at least he won’t want his money back because none is remaining.” Noah chuckled at my words, I glared at him and hit him with my elbows.

“Miss Lunavia Luminari.” A distinct and familiar voice called me, I turned my head my eyes scanning to see who it is, and walking towards me was Mr. Alexander, President Caspian Haven secretary.

“Mr. Alexander,” I smiled and nodded as he stopped in front of me, “Let us go in, the president is waiting for you inside.” He led the way as I glanced at Noah and Nelly before heading inside.

And just as I expected, the inside looks better than the outside and even more luxurious, so much care must have been taken to build such a space. We walked all the way to a private room which was also high end.

“Miss Lunavia.” Mr. Haven called as soon as I stepped into the room. He looked up at him and he was still so good looking, no… he seems to be getting more handsome as the day is passing.

He lounges on the sofa, his long legs stretched out before him, his arms flung over the bag of the couch, but despite his relaxed posture, an aura of confidence and authority emanates from him, his eyes, though half lidded, seem to bore into me.  

Well, can I blame him… the whole world seems to revolve around him “Hi, I hope I’m not late to the appointment?” I asked cautiously

“No. You are right on time. What would you like to eat? you can order from the menu”

“I would actually prefer if we just went straight to the reason why we are here.” I said trying to appear ok, but it is just that my stomach is so knotted out of nervousness, and I am not sure if I will be to eat.

His eyes scanned me as he picked up the menu “But I am different. Do you have any taboo?”

“Yes, I’m allergic to lime, peanut, sesame, wheat.” I listed out before I realized it. Aish… DAMN IT!!! How did he do it?

“Let them bring the dishes and avoid everything she listed out” he said to Mr. Alexander who nodded and stepped out immediately, his eyes now glanced over at Noah and Nelly, “Is it ok for them to step for a moment, they could stand with Alexander outside the door” He asked as if he was giving me a chance to choose  what I want but it is obvious that he already knows what he wants to do.

“Noah, Nelly, can you step out for a moment” I asked Nelly and Noah without looking at them.

“But miss, it will be dangerous for you to be here all alone with him!” Nelly protested immediately.

“You are just going to stand at the door, I have my self-defense kit and if anything goes wrong, you can come in immediately.” I tried to assure them even when I was scared that something might go wrong in the process.

“Let’s go” Noah stopped Nelly from protesting more and led him out of the room.

“They care about you a lot.”

“Of course, they do. We grew up together.” I smiled slightly at the thought of my childhood memories, “No one is here now. So why exactly did you want us to meet?” I asked him again as he adjusted and sat straight.

“The food is not here yet, we will talk while eating” He refused once again as I rolled my eyes, “It sounds like you want to poison me instead” I mumbled under my breath, enough for just me to hear.

“I heard you” He suddenly said while looking at me, it was then that I wished for the ground to just open and swallow me. Fortunately, the food and the waiters came in, which helped relieve the awkward atmosphere.

After they were done setting the table, I watched him pick up the spoon and started eating without a care in the world. His movement were so elegant and graceful, it was obvious he was well trained in his etiquette, “Are you not going to eat, this should be ok since we avoided all of your allergies” He looked up at me and reminded as I woke up from my daze and immediately picked up a spoon to join him.

I have to admit that the chef here is indeed top notch, everything tasted so delicious that I almost forgot how nervous I was, I took more sip of the seafood soup in front of me when he suddenly broke the news, “LET’S GET MARRIED” That alone made me spit out the soup in my mouth straight to his face.
