Javier stiffened.

Suzie's kiss was light and soft. It was only for a moment but Javier felt as if the time had stopped.

He looked back at Suzie.

The lampshade from the bedpost illuminated Suzie's side profile. Making her appear more delicate and frail but beautiful.

The affectionate look and tenderness in Suzie's eyes drove Javier's entire body hot. His heartbeat turned fast. There was only one thought in his mind.

He wanted to kiss her.

Javier stared at Suzie's eyes. His grey eyes were several shades darker. The turbulent desire and devotion reflected in his eyes.

"Suzie, can I kiss you?" He asked hoarsely.

His mind was too distracted by Suzie to think whether asking to kiss her at this moment would be alright or not. He just followed his heart.

Suzie paused for a moment and nodded.

But Javier did not let her finish nodding, he leaned over and captured the lips that he had been constantly thinking about.

It was his first kiss so he was careful, gentle, and clumsy. He sucked those

"Madame, the new workers have arrived today. Do you want to meet them?" Aunt Liza asked as she handed a folder to Suzie. Suzie accepted it and skimmed through it with a smile. "Just let them adapt for today. I'll meet them once they are familiar with the place." "Noted, Madame." Aunt Liza then handed another stack of folders to Suzie. "These are the documents that needed your signature. Yena and I have reviewed each one of them. But I think you should still take a look at them." "I'll do a quick review and will finish signing them today. Thank you for your hard work." Aunt Liza smiled. "Don't thank me yet. There is another batch of papers that you need to review later. I saw the head butler bringing them to his office. I think you'll be crowded with documents today." Usually, a young miss from a prominent family who had an arranged marriage with another notable family had lessons in managing an estate during their teens. So that when they become adults and got married off, they w

Suzie smiled at the head butler. "Are you worried that I will receive scorn because of this event? You don't have to worry. Nothing bad will come out of this, I promise you."The head butler paused. Was he worried? He wanted to say he wasn't. But for a moment, he advised Suzie because he was concerned about Suzie's reputation.Actually, there was nothing for the head butler to worry about. Since Suzie was only a Madame in name, he doesn't have to be concerned about whether Suzie was a good Madame or not.It would even be better if Suzie ruined her reputation and made a lot of mistakes while she was the Madame. So that once the Master had finished using her, they have reasons to take the position of the Madame away from Suzie. The head butler was conflicted for a moment. "I apologized. I have misspoken. It is as you said. Nothing bad will come out of it." The head butler recovered his usual solemnity. He lost his mind for a moment there."It's alright. You will come and eat with us,

Ever since the couple shared their first kiss, their relationship had progressed by leaps and bounds. Javier was constantly stuck on Suzie's side. He had become bolder in his actions. Whenever Suzie return home, he would welcome her with a warm hug and a quick peck on her cheek. At night, he would embrace Suzie's waist and keep her close to him until he fell asleep. He would hold her hand at every chance he could get. Giving gentle kisses on Suzie's forehead had become his habit. There was no need for more words or explanations. Their feelings for one another were sent across through their intimate gazes and subtle touch. But unlike Javier who become a bubbly and clingy husband overnight, Suzie was still adapting to this new change. She had no complaints, she was just a bit shy. Having physical contact with another person was new to her. So she was not used to it at first. But seeing Javier not being embarrassed or flustered at all, lessened Suzie's embarrassment. She gradua

The Albretch mountain villa was a two hours drive away from city C. They had to pass the mountains and fields before arriving in a city with tall buildings. After passing several towns, they would enter city C. In the expressway, several cars were traveling at the same speed. Suzie had been glancing at the rearview mirror. She noticed that at least four cars had been maintaining their distance from their car. They were neither fast nor slow. Suzie told the driver at the front. "Slowed down at the next gasoline station." "Yes, Madame." Ten minutes later, the two cars slowed down and had the intention to park their car at the gasoline station. At that moment, the four cars behind them did not slow down but sped up. Two cars overtake the second car where the other guards were while the other two cars surrounded Suzie's car on their left and right. Suzie narrowed her eyes, "Speed up. Tell the security to prepare to shoot." The captain of the security team was seating beside the d

An explosion sounded from afar. Smoke rose up across the sky. Suzie's car slowed down. The captain ordered the second car to go ahead first and checked what the explosion was about. After a while, the people in the second car reported back. "A shootout must have occurred in the area a while ago. But there are no dead bodies. Just blood, scattered bullets, and empty cars." After ensuring that there was no danger around, they drove again. Suzie silently observed what was left in the scene. Several cars were on fire which was the cause of several explosions. Blood and bullets scattered on the ground. An intense fight had clearly occurred here. But where are the bodies? The sound of ambulances and police cars sirens echoed from afar. The witnesses must have called the police. Suzie encountered such a scene two more times. With police cars an

George could only smile stiffly and agree. He could not chase the man away and he could not tell him to change seats. So he just leave him be. No one came to Uncle Surge's table. But everyone's eyes would shift to him from time to time. Some people wanted to approach him but they were too afraid that they might offend the Albrecht family for befriending a Piedrach. In the end, Uncle Surge had a peaceful time as he waited for his nephew's wife to arrive. But it did not take long for the peace to be disturbed. Because Reyna and Philip have returned. Everyone lowered their voices and looked at the front table. They would like to see how the drama would unfold between the Piedrach and the former Madame of the Albrecht family. And Reyna did not disappoint them. When Reyna saw Uncle Surge's face, her mood which had just calmed down started getting sour again. "Why is this man here?

'....Piedrach' Suzie muttered this name inwardly. Isn't the Piedrach Javier's maternal family? Suzie remembered the document that Jonathan gave to her before. According to that document, the Piedrach family migrated to another country after being persecuted by the whole society. They left Javier's pregnant mother all alone to bear the persecution alone. If the Piedrach family did not relocate, Javier would not lose his support so easily after he got into a coma and been abandoned in the old cabin to slowly die. In some sense the Piedrach family wronged Javier. But they were also Javier's only 'sincere' supporters. Suzie vaguely heard from Javier before that he had some relative backing him. 'It must be this man.' The fact that Surge Piedrach returned to the place he hated after Javier woke up meant that the Piedrach family was not half-hearted towards supporting her husband. Suzie smiled at Surge and politely bowed to him in greeting, "So it is Uncle Surge. I am very honore

While George Thomson was giving a long and passionate speech at the front, Surge scrutinized Suzie. He knew that Suzie was an illegitimate daughter who was sold off to marry his nephew while the latter was in a coma. Surge thought that the young woman who lived among the common people would have a hard time adjusting to the pretentious and cruel world of high society. He initially thought she would be timid, dainty, and reserved. His nephew even sent him here to protect his wife. Javier was afraid of his wife being bullied and reminded him many times to shield her from people's malice. But looking at this young woman who seemed to have a noble aura imprinted on her bones, and has a stinkier mouth than Reyna, Surge thought that Javier was worrying too much. This young woman was not easy to bully. She had the upper hand in what she does and bullied Reyna in front of everyone while the latter could not fight back. They even worked together in tacit understanding to bully Reyna. It was t

Suzie smiled and kissed the twin's head. "Always remember that you two not only have us but you have each other. Keep looking out for each other like this as you two grow up, okay? Then Mommy will give you a lot of rewards." Hearing rewards, the two children's moods turned happy. "What rewards? Are we going to the ocean and dive with sharks?" "Are we going to fly in the air and meet Superman?" Suzie laughed. She really wished her children would never lose their innocence and their imagination towards the world. They could grow up strong and disciplined, but they should never lose their innocence toward life and their hope for the future. She would make sure of it. "Let me think about it." The two children talked about the rewards that were about to come while they held Suzie's hand. When Javier met them at the company's lobby, he could not help but smile at the scenery. The scenery of his wife and his two children laughing and smiling warmed up his heart. Life was full of ups a

"Everyone, I appreciate your presence here. The reason behind gathering you all and convening this meeting on such short notice is to announce that my wife will be visiting." Tension hung in the air as Javier initiated the meeting. However, the revelation that followed left everyone in a state of surprise. Maintaining his composed demeanor, Javier continued, "Many of you had the opportunity to meet her at last year's opening ceremony. She expresses her regret that she couldn't personally greet each and every one of you on that occasion. My wife is a busy mother, her schedule is quite demanding. I kindly ask for your understanding in this regard." "Madame does not need to apologize." "Madame's kindness is truly remarkable. It's touching that she considers employees like us. We're genuinely grateful for her thoughtfulness." "There is no need to bother about us...." Those with a talent for flattery seized the opportunity to win favor. And their strategy proved effective. In the quiet embrace of dawn's gentle touch, the sea awoke from its slumber, its vast expanse stretching out as far as the eye could fathom. The horizon, adorned with hues of soft amethyst and pale rose, held a promise of the spectacle to come. A delicate, cool breeze carried the faint scent of salt and adventure, caressing the senses like a whispered secret. Suzie tiptoed out of the bedroom and washed her face downstairs. She then busied herself in the kitchen. It had been two weeks since the couple had stayed on the island, and there hadn't been a single day when Suzie woke up early to prepare breakfast. Partly because it was Javier's fault for keeping her up late, but whenever she did wake up, Javier had already cooked breakfast and cleaned the kitchen. Even the dishes were taken care of by Javier. There wasn't much else for Suzie to do but watch her handsome, gorgeous husband handle the chores. Suzie appreciated his efforts. However, she also wanted to showcase her cooking ski

Suzie woke up, feeling an ache in her lower body. She opened her eyes and saw sunlight peeking in through the curtains. How long had it been since she was out?She slowly sat up straight and felt the stinging sensation again. She couldn't help but blame the man once more for being too fierce last night. It was as if the married couple had a connection; Javier appeared at the door, holding a warm glass of water. He looked surprised to see Suzie awake. He hurriedly walked in and handed her the water."You're awake. How do you feel?" Guilt and self-blame were evident on Javier's face. He knew that he had been too rough last night.Suzie wanted to scold him, but seeing him like this, her heart softened. Still, she glared at him. "You were indeed too rough last night."Javier gently helped Suzie to her feet. "I'm sorry. I lost control. Mrs. Zhou kept you away from me for three days—how could I not miss you?" "....so just look at me and don't be nervous." A voice sounded on the front, breaking the fight that was about to start. Ambassador Milliard and Uncle Surge had already arrived in front of the bride's waiting room. At the door, Javier was almost hugging the door as he spoke with a pitiful voice, "I really wanted to see you. I haven't seen you for three days. Mrs. Luo is too strict." "We will see each other in a few minutes. So go to the hall and wait for me. Let my makeup artists work in peace," Suzie's voice sounded from inside the room. "...Alright. I miss you so bad, wife." Ambassador Milliard: "...." Uncle Surge: "...." Fortunately, they were the only people here. If other guests happened to pass by, Javier's image would completely shift from that of a peerless young CEO to that of a lovestruck fool, simping for his wife. The door swung open, and Javier, who had been clinging to it, almost stumbled forward. Mrs. Luo emerged from the room and deliberately avoided him. "Jus

Many people began talking about the couple again. Some were a bit regretful that the wedding of the century was not publicized on the TV. They could only get some news and updates from the social media of the guests. In a salon, a group of young misses were browsing their phones as they were getting pedicures. One of the young ladies saw the post and the discussion. She sat up straight in shock and the pedicurist almost ruined the nail polish she was applying on her toes."Wow! The whole island?! This is amazing! The island is so beautiful! I want to go there!" The young woman squealed. She glanced at the young woman at the far end of their group."Bianca, Mr. Albretch has gifted a very massive and beautiful island to your sister. ..... While Suzie was busy pampering herself, Javier, the groom, was also solving some things on his own. He took a break from his busy schedule and visited the City Z penitentiary. City Z's prison had the maximum security in the country where high-profiled criminals with heavy chargers were assigned to. Because of Colton's identity and the long list of his punishment, he was assigned to this place. "Inmate 1206, you have a visitor!" A correctional officer banged on a certain cell's door with his baton. A thin man stood up with a confused expression. He followed the correctional officer to the visiting area. When he saw the person through the partition glass, the thin man paused. The compliant look on his face shifted for a moment. Javier was sitting on the other side with a calm gaze. He pointed at the telephone beside the partition glass. The correctional officer pushed the thin man, "Inmate 1206, you only have fifteen minutes." The thin man had no choice but to sit. He hes
