Sebastian’s POV

“ Sir, the car is ready,” Liam informed me the moment he walked into the office.

“ Alright,” I answered. Where Anna and Kasper really a thing? So he hadn't lied when he claimed he was Anna's boyfriend. No, what's wrong with me? This shouldn't be my concern.

“ You're yet to wish or send your congratulations to Anna after the award show,” Liam hinted. It was like he knew I was thinking of her.

“ She is dating Kasper, I wouldn't want to cause problems by sending her my congratulations,” I excused.

“ How does your sending her congratulations have anything to do with her relationship with Kasper? You're just jealous aren't you?” He grinned.

“ No, I'm not. I'm just trying to be sensitive,” I evaded.

“ Or rather trying to deny yourself the luxury of feeling your own emotions,” he corrected.

“ And what is that supposed to mean?” I frowned.

“ You like Anna but now that you realize that she's with someone else, you feel hurt but in

Sebastian’s POV I couldn't help but glance over every now and then as the auction sales went on. I was sitting adjacent Anna and Kasper ’s seats. “ I hate to be the one to remind you but if you keep staring at her like that, you'll give her the creeps,” Liam leaned closer as he whispered. “ Sorry,” I muttered. I would have denied but that would only make things worse since I had stared a little bit too long. “ Now let's move on to the next item in our collection,” the host signalled for the attendants to bring it onto the stage and gasps alongside murmurs erupted. “ This, my beloved aristocrats is the Daughter Of Pearl. Of course this necklace isn't made of a pearl but a rare purple diamond enclosed in the purest of onyx,” the host informed us and everyone seemed bewildered by it. “ Woah, this is definitely the best item they've brought out today for auction,” Liam muttered. “ Starting price is ten million dollars!” He announced and everyone began to

Ezra’s POV I let the shower run on the bathroom floor even though I was done using it. I was still trying to get over it but it was proving difficult, I hadn't experienced it in years so why was it coming now? Turning off the shower, I walked out of the bathroom, I needed to get changed and head to work. “ You look pale, it's unlike you,” Athena noticed. She sat in front of the vanity mirror doing her makeup. “ I saw it again,” I said to her in a quiet voice. Her attention was fully on me now, she dropped her lipstick and got up. She approached me. “ You're having those nightmares again, aren't you?” She touched my face softly. “ Yes, I keep seeing her. A baby girl with a mix of blue and grey eyes or was it hazel, I'm not exactly sure,” I held on to my head. “ And?” She urged. “ The baby was reaching out to me and crying as it was being taken away and for some reason it felt like I lost a part of me,” I placed a hand on my chest. I had understoo

Anastasia’s POV I looked through the multiple documents on my desk, signing them and reviewing some. It was barely eleven in the morning but yet I was already tired. “ Ma'am, you called for me?” One of the workers walked in. She greeted. “ Yes, I need you to go through this and make corrections. I've already emailed you the corrections you are to make,” I handed her a file. “ Alright, I'll get on it,” she took it from my hand. The moment she stepped out of the office, I banged my head against the desk. “ I'm no doctor but I'm not exactly sure how banging your head against the desk is gonna relieve you of your headaches,” Stella filed her nails. “ When did you get here?” I raised my head to look at her. “ I've been here all along, you didn't just notice me,” she gave me an obvious look. “ Don't you have other things to be doing?” I questioned. “ I'm just like you at this point. I've hit my road block,” she sighed. “ Just say you don't wan

Audrey's POV I got up early in the morning ready for a new day in Riverdale, it's been long since I've been here. “ I should probably call Anna,” I thought aloud as I made breakfast. Her phone rang. “ Mom,” she picked. “ Yes, I know I shouldn't be disturbing your sleep,” I apologized. “ Mom, I'm no longer the teenager you knew. I have a job and I'm a renowned designer now so I'm really busy. I'm already at work by the way,” she informed. “ Sometimes I forget how quickly kids grow up,” I always saw her as a child no matter how big she was and sometimes I wish she wouldn't grow up so fast. “ That's how I feel right now with the twins,” she sighed. “ They still have a long way to go besides you and Kasper are still young so you can still have as many children as you want,” our cases were obviously different. “ Don't let Kasper hear this, you'd give him the go-ahead to be keeping me up all night if you know what I mean,” she humoured.

Months laterCora's POV “ Wait, where are you headed and dressed like that?” Lily asked the moment I walked past her on black booty shorts with black net socks and a black corset topping it up with black boots and gothic makeup. “ Can't you take a guess?” I said twirling so she could have a closer look. “ Hmmm... Nope, don't see nothing,” she said after a while of peering. “ I'm out to a club to grab some drinks and party? Well, I guess that's the plan,” I shrugged. “ You can't be serious,” she scoffed. “ You rarely ever party or go to places like that, so why now?” “ It's Kasper of course. You know I got dad to get me into Bourne Groups right?” I sat down on the papasan chair next to Lily's as I narrated. “ What happened to him? Because I sure as hell know that he ain't meeting up with you any time soon,” she waved her index finger confidently, letting her head follow the movement. “ I will pretend I didn't hear that,” I rolled my eyeballs.

A week laterCora's POV I picked up my phone and dialed a number I had previously thought I hadn't taken. It was about time we meet up. “ Yes, hello,” I greeted the moment Lucas answered. “ I'm surprised you called me so suddenly,” he laughed awkwardly. “ Well, I nearly forgot that I took your number,” I admitted. “ Ohhhh, I'm not surprised,” he remarked. “ No, that's not what I meant. What I meant was I had nearly forgotten that we had exchanged numbers because I was tipsy when it happened,” I confessed. “ It's alright, ” he dismissed and unlike me, I actually felt a bit guilty. “ So....” I hesitated. “ So?” He urged. “ I'm getting off work soon. Would you like to meet up?” I asked. “ Sure, I mean it's not like I have anything doing tonight,” he accepted. “ Where are we meeting?” He inquired. “ Same place where we met,” it was perfect for a second meeting and perfect for what I needed to discuss with him. “ Kk, see you there in a

Cora's POV I stretched out on the king-sized bed which has layers of white sheets. It was still very early and I knew I probably missed Lily's cue but it was worth it. All I had to do was come up with an an excuse or beat the time and the second option was still possible. I could make it home before dawn if I left soon enough. “ You weren't as bad as I thought you would be. I guess I underestimated you,” I smirked as I stared at Lucas who was fast asleep. I propped my head up with my arm. He looked even more innocent when he slept, it made me wonder if this was the same passionate guy of last night. I touched his face, caressing his jawline and paying attention to the details of his face. The more I looked at him, the more handsome he appeared. “ I can't believe I gave my first to you. I've been saving it for Kasper but then again, I might have grown old waiting for that to happen so I believe it's safe to say you were the perfect choice for an option,” I ran my h

Kasper's POV~*** Kasper's office ***"Damn" I cussed silently as I ran my fingers through my hair in frustration. I mean how did I even pile up this much paperwork? I was really tired and could use a break. "I know, I'll have Steve look through some of them first before I'll.....""Drriing! Drriing!" My phone suddenly rang, startling me as it interjected my thoughts. "Geez, who the hell is it?" I muttered as I stretched my hand over the files on my glass desk and picked up my phone. Looking at the screen, my face grimaced in a mix of disdain and annoyance as I saw my brother's name floating across the screen. It had been quite a while since we talked last so I was kind of skeptical why he was calling. As my thumb hovered over the screen, my mind became a fierce battleground as I tried to decide if I should pick up the call or not. One the one hand, he was the one who caused our conflict to begin with, but on the other hand, he could be calling to apologise (It was highly unlikely b

Two weeks laterAnastasia’s POV Abel had been sentenced to what I would call a lifetime worth of jail term on various charges like murder, attempted murder, embezzlement, bribery, threats and so on. He kept yelling at us without a single form of remorse but I'm glad that case is closed. Meanwhile Bourne Groups and MooBi entertainment have began their collaboration deal and Bourne Groups stock prices have gone up just from the anticipation of such a huge collaboration ongoing. “ Anna, are you paying any attention?” Stella nudged me in the arm. “ Sorry,” I muttered. We were at a court procession, it was that of Cora's. Cora had turned herself in to the police and had agreed to take responsibility for her actions but she was yet to know that I and the others had decided that she wouldn't go to prison. I didn't like her but I wanted to understand her since she was somehow like a sister to me, with our identities switched at birth, I feel the need to be there for

Kasper's POV~"Yeah, I'll get back to you on that......*noise in the background*.....". "What's with all the fuss?" I thought as I walked over to the end of my office where the wall is totally made of glass. Looking through, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Hordes of paparazzi flooded into the company building following someone in a black suit. "Is that.....Uncle Abel?" I thought as I squinted to look clearly. I couldn't see the face from so high up but the figure and mannerisms certainly were his."....ello? Sir? Are you there sir?" The voice from the other end of the phone snapped me out of my thoughts. I had totally forgotten that I was on a call. "Oh I apologise. I got caught up with something" I explained, "Perhaps I'll call you back later and we'll talk about it thoroughly. How's that?" "Sure thing sir?""Alright....beep!" I hung up and continued to analyze the situation. If that really was uncle Abel, he would probably be headed to my office. I had been expecting him act

Athena's POV~Sitting on the bench along the lobby in the hospital, I felt hollow. Everything felt like a dream. I couldn't believe it at all. "Audrey switched our babies? Audrey?" I thought. How could somebody I trusted so much betray me like that? She was my best friend. I trusted her like she was my sister. How could she do this?! "Oh mo....Please stop crying" Cora said to me as she offered me a tissue. I turned to the side and took a look at her. It was awkward and heartbreaking. This girl for whom I did everything wasn't even mine? I felt chills run down my spine as I thought about it. "Yeah, it's just gonna make it worse" Anna who sat beside me too on the other end said. I looked at her too. How was I supposed to feel now? My actual daughter....in front of me and I never knew all this time. "Just relax, okay?" Cora said as she gave me the tissue. I took it and wiped the tears off my face.Clip! Clop! Clip! Clop!"The doctor!" I sprung up in anxiety. I had been waiting. I still

Audrey's POV~"They're not here yet?" I thought as I took a glance at my watch. She said she wanted to meet me here about fifteen minutes ago, Anastasia that is. I looked around the cafe to see if maybe she was sitting somewhere else but there was no sign of her. "Maybe I should call her" I muttered as I dug my hand into my purse to get my phone. Then suddenly, I heard the jingle of the small bells at the entrance and my eyes darted in that direction. It was her. "Anna" I called with a wave as a smile cropped up on my face. My daughter truly was gorgeous. She saw me and walked over to my table and sat down. "Geez, what happened? It's not like you to be running late" I said with a smile. " Sorry, I got caught up with something" she apologized. " Work huh? Have you managed to make a designs yet?" I asked. " I have actually but none of them are to my liking. I guess I've been on a bit of a block lately " she said. She didn't look too happy as she said it. "Was something bothering he

Mom’s House - The next dayAnastasia’s POV “ Are you going out?” I came out of the kitchen as my ears picked up the sound of footsteps moving towards the front door. “ Yes, you're ears are rather sensitive,” mom complimented. “ Nah, not really. Besides, why are you heading out? I mean, I just came not too long ago and I'm making lunch,” I pouted. “ By not coming too long ago, you mean coming in the morning before nine and staying till past noon?” She placed both hands on her waist arching her brows as she questioned rhetorically. “ Haha, guess I've been here for quite a while,” I scratched my head awkwardly. “ Mhmm, you have. Anyway, I'll be back soon enough. I want to get some things then drop them at the orphanage before coming back so don't wait for me before you have lunch as I might take a bit before coming,” she smiled before heading for the front door. “ But...” “ Bye!!” She yelled, banging the door behind her as she escaped from the house. • Married in the Shadow of My Best Friend   Chapter 123 - Suspicions

Anastasia’s POV Kasper and I sat on the chairs in the balcony and got a minute or two after we arrived, we didn't say a word. Maybe it was because we didn't want to talk about the night we came out to the balcony which ended up rather hot or we were simply unsure of how to react to the news of what truly happened to Aurelia. “ I don't know what to say to you,” he let the words escape his lips like air he had held in too long. “ What do...” “ I know we've already settled this issue of Aurelia’s death before and I regretted treating you the way I did but this is different. I feel guilty - guilty because I had made you suffer a lot for someone else's crimes,” he pushed his hair backwards with both hands. “ I couldn't exactly blame you, after all, I would have done the same thing if I were in your shoes,” I turned to look at him but contrary to his usual self, he wasn't staring back at me. “ Thinking about how I blamed you and forced you to get married to me just s

Anastasia's POV “ Can we all take a minute to calm down?!” Sebastian yelled for the first time which took not just me but Kasper by surprise. I had never heard him use a tone outside his regular calm tone. “ Even though I understand how you feel since she was once Kasper's fiancee and your best friend but I also know that the last thing we'd want to do is jeopardize our future because of the past,” Sebastian cleared his throat and went back to his calm nature. “ Do you expect me to just forgive her?!” I raised my voice at him. “ No one talked about forgiveness here, I said we need to focus on what matters first and that is getting Kasper out of this mess or should I be the one reminding me of your priorities?” He peered into my eyes. “ Sorry, I just let my emotions get the best of me,” I muttered. “ It's alright, I just needed you both to set your emotions aside, we'll deal with this later and trust me when I say she'll face her punishment due her once everything is settled. Anastasia’s POV Cora walked through the glass doors which jingled as she stepped in. She quickly spotted us - yes, I hadn't come alone. I had informed Sebastian about it and he volunteered to follow me for safety sake. “ You came with company?” She asked rhetorically as she got seated. “ Yes, do you have a problem with it?” I retorted. “ No, I just wanted to sound normal and friendly but I was wrong assuming you'd take it as a friendly question,” she mumbled. “ Let's cut the chase and get straight to the point,” I was strict. “ Agreed. What did you say you have to tell her?” Sebastian backed. “ Where should I start? I've done a lot of horrible things really,” she clutched her head. “ You don't say,” I remarked sarcastically. “ Let me start in a progressive manner. So the first or rather my first confession to make is about what happened that night between I and Kasper,” I sighed and grabbed the glass of juice in front of me to cool my nerves down.

Lucas'POV I took a deep breath as I walked into the Bourne’s estate. I needed to cast all my insecurities and brace myself for the worst possible results - simply put, I needed to confront grandpa. “ I thought it was a prank when the guards said you were here but turns out it wasn't,” granddad was already seated. “ It's unusual for you to give me sudden visits. Hmmm, last time I checked you disliked me but I guess the feeling is a bit mutual so to say,” I clenched my fist at his words. Granddad was always so brutally honest which pissed me, sometimes it made me wonder how he managed to live this long with a mouth like this. “ That's exactly why I'm here. I need answers,” I stated my purpose. “ And what makes you think I will answer willingly?” He brushed the petals of one of his plants. “ Because I'll speak and you will listen. Not only would you listen, you will answer all the questions that have long be eaten me up,” it was now or never. “ Hmmm, quite the ch
