The verdict

Charlene POV

The day of the court hearing arrived and I couldn't help but feel nervous. I had never been to court before, let alone for something as serious as this. I knew that Jeremy had made a terrible mistake, but I couldn't help but feel sorry for him. He was my brother, after all, and at the same time, I hoped that he wouldn’t say anything that might affect either of us.

‘’Everything is going to be fine,’’ Dominic assured me as we were about to leave the house and I decide to rely on that even though a lot was going through my mind.

As soon as we stepped out of the car, we were bombarded by reporters. They were asking if I was my brother's accomplice in the death of Alexa. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I tried to ignore them and walk past them, but they kept following us and asking the same question over and over again.

‘’Are you an accomplice of your brother?’’

‘why did you kill Alexa?’’

‘’Are you guilty of the crimes that are behind directed at you!’’
