It had happened so suddenly that Jackson was stunned.

Madeline intuitively tried to protect Jackson when suddenly a knife was placed at her back.

“Eveline, drive where I tell you to.”

The commanding voice of a woman came from behind her, and Madeline raised her eyes to glance at the rearview mirror. She was not surprised at the face that appeared in the mirror.

“Eveline, did you hear me? I asked you to drive!”

“Why are you yelling at my mommy? Hurry up and get that dangerous thing away from my mommy!” Jackson tried to stop her.

“Hmph, you little thing. I’d suggest that you do not talk. If you dare to speak again, I won’t be so courteous toward you!” the woman threatened.

“I'm driving now. Don’t argue with a child.” Madeline glanced in the rearview mirror, lowered her eyes to Jackson, and hinted at him, “Jack, don't worry about me. She’s just playing a game with me.”
