Roseline's POV

"Sister Rose?" One of the kids squealed in surprise as he saw me entering the orphanage.

"Friends, come out and see who has come to visit us!" The child shouted, his voice filled with excitement and anticipation.

In no time, the kids came rushing out, their smiles widening as they saw me. Those who were nearby also turned their attention to the commotion.

"Sister Rose!" I heard a chorus of voices filled with joy and happiness.

Overwhelmed by their warm welcome, I knelt down on the ground as the kids surrounded me. They enveloped me in their embrace, hugging me tightly from all sides and planting kisses wherever they could. I returned their affection, showering them with kisses and gentle caresses.

At that moment, all my worries and the chaos of my personal life faded away. The magic of the orphanage enveloped me once again, just as it had from the day I first arrived.

"We missed you so much, sister," one of them said, tears shimmering in her eyes.

Roseline's POVFor the past half an hour, I have been busy decorating the wall for the celebration.Liam left me alone by saying that he needed to look after something else. But I know there isn't anything. He just needed an excuse to run away from work. It has been his habit since childhood. He runs away after giving his work to someone else.I didn't mind either. I love doing it.As I reached the upper half of the wall, I realized my hands couldn't reach that high. So, I grabbed a stool and positioned it next to the wall before climbing up on it.As I stretched my body to reach the corner, my ankle suddenly twisted, causing me to lose my balance. Desperately, I reached out for something to hold onto, but all I managed to grab was a frill that tore in the middle. The stool on which I was standing also lost its balance and I started falling back. The ground seemed to rush towards me as I prepared for a painful impact. With my eyes tightly shut, I braced myself, fearing the worst. But

I greeted him again as soon as I found a spot where I could talk to him clearly and hear what he was saying."I am sorry, child; I disturbed you," he apologized."It's ok, Grandpa. You could call me whenever you want. Is everything alright?" I asked him."Yes, yes, everything is fine. Don't worry"A wave of relief washed over me as I heard his reassurance. Grandpa's voice held a comforting tone, soothing my worried thoughts. There was a brief pause between us. I was waiting for him to state the purpose of calling me and he was taking his time. I just prayed for everything to actually be fine."Is there something else you wanted to tell me, Grandpa?" I inquired, sensing his hesitation. He sighed softly before responding, "Well, there is something, but I was unsure whether it would be considered rude.""Please, Grandpa, you can tell me anything," I reassured him, wanting him to share whatever was on his mind.He hesitated for a moment before continuing,

Roseline's POVI am sure I am again disillusioned, like every other time. I haven't met them before. It is for the first time that I am seeing her."It's my pleasure to meet you, too," I replied, keeping my smile steady as I extended my hand to Vincenzo's mother. Her warm smile reassured me, momentarily easing my concerns."My name is Moretti, Vincenzo's mother," she introduced herself, her voice gentle and inviting. I shook her hand firmly, reciprocating her warm greeting."Roseline." I smiled back at her as we shook hands.Vincenzo's father approached us; his demeanor is more reserved and serious compared to that of his son and wife. He simply nodded in acknowledgment as I greeted him, creating an air of formality."Let's have dinner together." Grandpa's excitement was palpable, and his happiness radiated through his voice. The dining table was set elegantly, adorned with delicious dishes. We settled around the table, Grandpa engaging in polite conversation with Vincenzo's mother."

Roseline's POV When I thought that he was going to leave us, he sighed and grabbed his seat again, taking me by surprise. A sudden rush of warmth filled my heart. It is for the very first time that he has listened to me. There is definitely something big in between these people, which I fail to see. Even Grandpa seemed hesitant to intervene. While I had no desire to pry into their personal affairs, the sight of Vincenzo's mother, wearing a smile that barely masked her sadness and helplessness, tugged at my heart. Though I had never experienced the joy of being a parent, as an orphan, I understood the pain of being separated from one's family. I could only imagine the deep hurt Vincenzo's mother must be feeling because of her son's distant and cold behavior. She tries to hide it with a wide, warm smile on her lips. As the room grew heavy with unspoken tension, Kevin cleared his throat with a mischievous grin on his lips. "Wow, this is quite the dramatic family reunion we've got h

The photograph slipped from my finger as I was startled by the roar of Vincenzo. The sound of Vincenzo's voice, filled with frustration and rage, sent a chill down my spine. My heart skipped a beat, and I spun around, my eyes widening in alarm at the sight before me. Vincenzo stood there, his presence dominating the room, engulfed in overwhelming anger that radiated from every fiber of his being. He always keeps his face stoic, void of any emotions, but right now even the blind could sense the wrath that his body was emitting. It was as if the dam holding back his feelings had burst, unleashing a torrent of pent-up frustration. His eyes, usually calm and serene, were now bloodshot and ablaze with fiery intensity. The veins on his forehead pulsed with the force of his rage, and his jaw clenched so tightly that it seemed as if it might break under the strain and h

I couldn't bring myself to answer him. Vincenzo's hurtful words and his treatment of me still lingered in my mind. I felt lost and drained, unable to respond. Lost in my thoughts, I noticed a glass of water placed in front of me. When I looked up, I realized Kevin had brought it for me. "Thank you; I'm fine," I murmured, looking away. "No, you're not," he asserted firmly. I glanced back at him, surprised by his tone. He let out a heavy sigh, closed his eyes briefly, and then pulled a chair in front of me, sitting down. "From the very first day, I sensed that something was not right between you." I stayed silent, feeling completely drained and lacking energy. Roseline's POV I was restless, tossing and turning in bed, unable to find any respite in sleep. The words of Vincenzo were still ringing in my head. They have deeply hurt me. I was just trying to console him so that he wouldn't feel alone. But he humiliated me in return. I didn't know that my calling him 'Enzo' would enrage him so much. I would have never called him. I could again feel tears stinging my eyes. Keeping his thoughts aside for the moment, I closed my eyes again, trying to sleep. My eyes snapped open again when I realized that Vincenzo had left the house two hours ago and hadn't returned yet. Despite everything he had done to me, I couldn't help but worry for his safety. My heart pounded as the clouds thundered. He would be fine! He is a grown-up man, not a kid who doesn't need anyone to look after him.
