“I’m scared. I’m scared they might get hurt or something bad might happen. I hate that I can’t help right now. All I can do is take good care of Sonny so that my sister doesn’t have any worries.”

She and Duncan felt the same way. They were worried but were unable to help. Duncan was even too afraid to casually call Liberty, fearing that he might disturb her.

Jane reached out and held Serenity’s hand to comfort her. “It’ll be fine. No matter how big the pit, we’ll cross over it and see the rainbow on the other side.”

Serenity pressed her lips together, nodding vigorously, and clasped Jane’s hand in return. Right then, a familiar sound of crying reached their ears, along with Ben’s voice soothing his son.

“Please stop crying, we’re looking for Mommy right now. You just cry and cry every time you open your eyes and don’t see Mommy. A real man doesn’t cry. Look at your sister—she doesn’t cry like you when she wakes up.”

Ben’s tone was full of disdain at his son’s crying, just as Dr. C

waste of time reading this chapter all about kids crying..so what!!! talk about writing a load of dribble....and we are paying this rubbish, load the book so we can skip rubbish chapters and move on.

Wasted chapters on how Clo-Clo and Connor eat sleep and poop. Enough already! Get on with the storyline. You have gotten so far off the original storyline that a lot of us can’t remember what it was. Author needs to give up and bring the story to an end ...
