Chapter 88. Dead End, No Bright Spots to See

"I don't know, Susan. I also do not know. But I might be able to speak to Mr. James.” Lorenz answered.

"Okay. I'll see if I might be able to talk to Jordan," Susan said. She disconnected Lorenz's call.

Susan's heartbeat was fast. She had seen how Jordan got mad at employees. He could explode uncontrollably when he was really emotional. Susan had to be careful.

Susan returned to her seat on the couch where she had been before. She pretended to be busy with her cell phone. She heard footsteps approaching.

"Lala?"

She turned. "Hi, good morning, Mr. Hayden." Susan tried to smile at Jordan.

"Susan?" Jordan's face sank. He didn't expect to see Susan that early at his house. "You here?"

"Yes, sir. Today I have a business with Lala." Susan tried to stay calm, looking for a space to say something.

"I think she's already told you what happened." Jordan smiled bitterly. There was an annoying look there.

"You'd better talk to Lala. I'm sure you know her well. She really loves you. So …"
