Dominic's pov:

I sat in my office with my desks cleared out of all the day's appointments, reminiscing about the previous night.

My encounter with this lady who had agreed to all my selfish desires. She also melted into me last night, a little more interesting than I presumed but still so naive.

"You like her, don't you?" Desmond's voice echoed, I didn't notice him come in, was I that absent-minded?

I scoffed, trying to appear nonchalant. "Like her? You know I don't love, Desmond?”

Desmond chuckled. "Of course not. But you seem… intrigued."

I avoided my friend's gaze, running a hand through my hair. "She's… different."

"Different?" Desmond pressed.

I hesitated, searching for the right words. "I don't know. Naive and Unpredictable." I paused, a flicker of something akin to amusement crossing my face. "And she seems to have a certain… spark."

Desmond raised an eyebrow. "A good fit for the position, then?"

I took a sip of my whiskey, contemplating the question. "I think I can manage her."

Desmond smiled. "Excellent. Now, back to business. Which of the hotels do you intend on using ton…”

"Hold on," I interrupted, a determined glint in my eyes. "Have Rachel draw up the contract. I want to see it finalized today."

Desmond raised an eyebrow, surprised by my sudden urgency. "By the way," Desmond added casually, "you should know she has a five-year-old son."

I paused, and my expression turned grim. "A son?"

Desmond nodded. "Yes, a charming little boy. A bit of a handful, I hear."

I leaned back in my chair, a thoughtful expression on my face. "A son," I repeated, a strange sense of satisfaction creeping into my voice. "Interesting."

I paused, a flicker of something akin to amusement crossing my face. "Does this change anything for you?" Desmond asked, lighting up the rustic tobacco pipe he picked up from my desk.

I took a sip of my whiskey, seemingly unconcerned. "Not at all," I said, a dangerous glint entering my eyes. "In fact, it might even be… advantageous." I smiled cunningly.

Desmond was surprised. Truth is, Even I was surprised by my own words.

"Now, back to business," I said, my voice regaining its authoritative tone. "Have Rachel draw up the contract. I want to see it finalized today."

Desmond then turned around walking towards the exit. “I don't work for you Dom, but I'll send Rachel to you on my way out.”

“Don't bother,” I ordered. Few minutes after he walked out, I called my secretary and when I saw her I gave the order.

“Get your things in other, I need to see Suzanne and I need a contract marriage agreement drafted out in the next thirty minutes with the following requirements…”

She raised her hand in an attempt to speak. “Go on?” I asked. “Sir, Mr. Desmond already drafted a contract,” she paused, took out a file, handing it over to me.

I took the file. After reading through it, I saw that all my requirements were included but so was Suzanne. I had to pay for her son's treatment.

But that wasn't a problem, two million dollars was just gambling change. I asked Rachel to bring Suzanne to the courtroom while I waited for them.

Suzanne's pov:

I felt a tingle when his hands slipped to the lower of my waist and swung me around. “Uhhh,” I mourned to myself unconsciously then I heard Kai's tiny voice.

“Mommy, where is daddy?” I frowned at him, sleep still shrouding my vision and making his little view blur. I tried to say something but…

“Has he finally left us?” his eyes became bulky and teary then his lips pressed against each other as my vision became clearer.

“Come here my boy,” I pulled him into an embrace. “Mommy is not gonna leave your side, and in time, you will learn to forgive your father.” I patted his back as tears welled in my eyes.

“What is wrong with me mommy?” This question made it more difficult to gulp down the lump forming in my throat. I closed my eyes and inhaled.

“You will be fine my son,” pulling him backwards and holding his head in my hands, “Mommy will make sure of that,” I promised him, and I was going to do my path excellently.

Stella had told Desmond of my own requirements. I needed money before the marriage for my son's treatment, and some others might evolve after the marriage, but for now, that was my most important request.

“Suzanne Wright,” a sweet voice called from behind. “Who are you calling me…” she cut me off before I could finish.

“You have an appointment with the richest man in the northeast in thirty minutes. Please come with us without hesitation.” I looked at her from her red glowing pumps to her black elegant dress. She sure looked higher than my class.

“I can't leave my son alone,” I informed her, raising my brows. “Alright then,” she said and immediately made a phone call.

“Your son will be going in for his surgery in 20 minutes,” my brows knitted in confusion. “Mr. Khan has made payment for his treatment.”

The whole situation felt like a dream but I had to meet up as fast as I could. “So who will watch after Kai when I am gone?” I asked the beautiful lady.

Just then two nurses appeared. “We have been assigned to look after Kai till complete recovery,” one of them said, smiling.

I looked around, the pace at which things just switched!!!

“Shall we?” the Lady asked and I nodded. I turned around and kissed my boy on his forehead.

“These nurses will give you anything you need and they will make you feel better. Mommy has to sign a deal that will change our lives. Wait for me okay?” he nodded and hugged me once more before letting me go.

***

We arrived at the City Hall and I watched in nervousness how my life had taken turns and twists in a space of three days.

Inside was well-lit, Dominic and Desmond stood at a corner while the clerk sat in his seat. “You go in alone from here,” the beautiful lady said whilst smiling. I nodded at her and walked down the hall.

“Excuse me, I have to be here as well,” I heard Stella's voice from outside, and then I saw her rushing towards me.

I took a sit and looked at Dominic. But when his eyes met mine I couldn't continue staring at his well-built physique. He was a bit old but he looked sexy enough to handle any age.

“So you are to be my wife?” his voice creased the back of my neck alongside his breath, sending shivers down my spine. I swallowed hard instantly and smiled like a doll.

“Thank you for taking care of my son.” I looked into his eyes, but I couldn't handle the tension it caused in my body and I immediately looked away.

“Can you please me sexually?” my eyes blinked a couple of times before I could say; “Uhm, I believe I can try, but my experience isn't versatile.”

He gave me a signal to stand up, then he inspected my body with his eyes. “Turn around, slowly.” As I moved my hips from side to side while turning, a naughty smile played across Dominic's lips.

What is he up to!!!

“Mmm, you should be very slippery down there,” he murmured. “What?” I asked, in a haste to face him my booty juggled and Dominic pulled me closer, into an unexpected kiss.

Suddenly, my eyes closed as I found myself kissing him passionately, and then abruptly he pulled me aback. He licked his lips and took a deep breath.

“Let us get this marriage over with.” his deep dominating voice spoke.

A million things flew through my mind, a thousand and one questions.

  • Married To My Ex-Husband’s Rival   Chapter 5: “I Will Be Back”

Suzanne's pov:“Your clothes will be ready by this weekend; we will come back for fitting.” The stylist said as she and her team packed their things to leave. I gave them a warm smile as they left. Now alone, I decided to explore my new home. As I walked by the corridors, I noticed the Art on the walls, each of them looking beautiful and unique as they held different stories untold. “I told you I always get what I want, she is mine now.” I heard Dominic speak to someone on the phone. As I tried to open the door further to listen more closely, the door made a squeaky sound. I froze. “Who is there?” Dominic said in a commanding tone, his voice low and threatening. My heart skipped a beat as I realized I had been discovered. I tiptoed back to my room, my feet barely making a sound on the floor, and gently closed the door behind me, holding my breath in hopes of going unnoticed. My mind raced with questions. Who was Dominic talking to on the phone? What did he mean by 'he always gets

Suzanne's pov:“You are leaving me all alone?” I frowned. “Is there something you need from me?” he questioned nonchalantly, taking up his keys from the table. “You have the housekeeper at your disposal.” I pressed my lips against each other.“I need to get what you are not giving me. I need to quench my thirst.”My jaw twitched in irritation. “Is this what our marriage will look like?” I murmured. “Well, who knows? You agreed not to question my decisions and follow my instructions, did you not?”The question pinged my chest. A familiar ache I had felt before. My eyes crowded with tears as I bent my head, trying to hide my emotions. What did I expect? He said no strings attached till our aim had been achieved and we got the divorce.“Do you want me to stay?” he asked, raising my head with his hand on my chin. “Do whatever you want, I do not have the right to tell you anything,” I replied softly, removing his hand from my chin.He chuckled slightly and walked out of the sitting room.

Dominic's pov:Without a word, Suzanne walked past me, her heels clicking against the polished floor as she made her way to the bar. I watched as she gracefully slid onto a stool, her back straight but her movements unusually slow.Something wasn’t right. She rested her hands on the counter, her fingers lightly tracing the rim of an untouched glass. Her expression was distant, her eyes unfocused as if lost in thought.I knew that look. She was thinking deeply. And whatever was on her mind had pulled her away from the moment entirely. What is she so caught up in?I exhaled and forced myself to turn back to business. Oscar and the others were already deep in conversation about a potential deal. I nodded along, pretending to be fully engaged, but my attention remained with Suzanne. Then, I noticed movement near the bar. A man, someone I didn’t recognize, approached Suzanne. His stance was confident, his smile easy. He leaned in slightly as he spoke to her.I clenched my jaw.My focus wa

Suzanne‘s pov:The next morning, I woke up to the bright sunlight burning through my window. The events of the previous night were still fresh in my mind, the way Dominic had taken control at the bar, the way his touch had set my body on fire in the car. But more than that, the message from Rachel haunted me.I couldn’t shake the feeling that it meant something bigger, something I wasn’t prepared for. With a deep breath, I got out of bed and made my way downstairs.Dominic sat at the dining table, his coffee half-finished, his phone in his hand. Dressed for work, he looked as put together as always, calm and unreadable.I hesitated for a moment before stepping forward."Good morning," I said, my voice even.He barely glanced up. Just a nod before his eyes returned to his phone. That was it. No warmth. No trace of what had happened between us last night.I clenched my fists. Did he know I had seen the message? Was he just pretending nothing had happened? Before I could say anything els

Suzanne's pov:She scoffed. "Suze, come on. Rachel could be his business partner or sister. You don’t even know if the baby is his. And even if it is—"I shot her a sharp look."Relax, I’m just saying you should talk to him first before jumping to conclusions."My chest tightened. Maybe she was right. Maybe I was being irrational. But the idea of Dominic keeping something like this from me made my stomach churn.I needed air. I set my cup down and stood. "I’m going out."Stella blinked. "Where to?" "Anywhere but here."She smirked. "So, you’re gonna go to a party and act like you don’t care?"I grabbed my purse. "Exactly." Before she could say another word, I was already at the door. Because tonight, I didn’t want to be the wife drowning in doubts.I just wanted to breathe.Dominic's pov:The meeting room buzzed with conversations, but my mind was elsewhere. The way she bit her lip, the way her fingers trembled slightly as they rested on her lap—I saw it all. Felt it. She was nervous, but she wanted this. Wanted me.And tonight, I was going to give her exactly what she needed.By the time we reached the house, I had barely shut the front door before I had her against the wall. She gasped, her wide eyes staring up at me, but I caught the flicker of something else, anticipation.I trailed a single finger down her arm, slow, teasing, making her shiver. Suzanne's pov:The next morning, I stirred awake, my body still aching from the intensity of the night before. A lazy smile played on my lips as I stretched, reaching across the bed, expecting to feel Dominic beside me.But the bed was empty. My smile faded as my eyes fluttered open. The space beside me was cold, as if he had been gone for a while. I sat up, my gaze scanning the room, only to hear the faint sound of running water. The bathroom door was slightly open, and through the gap, I saw Dominic step out, a towel wrapped loosely around his waist, droplets of water still clinging to his chiselled chest. His dark eyes met mine, but there was no softness, no trace of last night’s passion. Just the usual unreadable expression.“Good morning,” I said hesitantly, watching him as he ran a hand through his damp hair.He barely acknowledged me. “Go to your room.”My heart sank, but I masked it quickly, nodding stiffly before slipping out of the bed and making my way to my room.A short w

Suzanne's pov:He didn’t answer immediately, just watched me with those dark, unreadable eyes. Finally, he said, "I told them to leave."I swallowed hard. "Why? What is going on?" I strode a little towards him.He stepped closer, his gaze never leaving mine. "Because I wanted us to be alone." A chill ran down my spine, but it wasn’t fear. It was something else. It was, confusion. My breath caught as his hands reached for me. I tried to resist, my mind still reeling from what I had seen at the café, but his touch was too familiar, too intoxicating. My body betrayed me, melting under his touch even as my mind screamed at me to push him away.I felt his breath ghost over my skin, his fingers tracing slow, deliberate patterns on my arms, and my waist. • Married To My Ex-Husband’s Rival   Chapter 80: “Leaving Her Unguarded”

Dominic’s pov:I didn’t realize how long I’d been sitting in that chair. The office was dark now, painted in shadows, the only light spilling in from the city skyline beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows. The once-busy hum of staff had long since faded.Phones stopped ringing. Emails went unanswered. Even the steady ticking of the antique clock on the wall felt like it was echoing louder than it should.I hadn’t moved since the ruling. My fingers were still clenched around the edge of the armrest, knuckles bleached white. I felt detached from my body, like I was a ghost hovering above myself, watching the slow unravelling of a man who’d never been allowed to lose before. My heartbeat thudded in my ears like war drums, but everything else was quiet.Too quiet. The courtroom played like a reel in my mind, frame by brutal frame.Linda’s entrance is like a queen returning to a throne that never belonged to her.The judge was already in her pocket. The smug politicians, their loyalty boug

  • Married To My Ex-Husband’s Rival   Chapter 79: The Trial

Dominic’s pov:The courtroom wasn’t unfamiliar to meI’d been in and out of them for years, lawsuits, zoning battles, acquisition disputes. But this one was different. This wasn’t about money, or concrete, or blueprints. This was personal!!!I walked in, flanked by Peter Black and Ford. The weight of tailored silence followed me.My presence was enough to make heads turn and mouths shut. Cameras lined the marble corridor outside. Linda wanted the media circus. She wanted the public eye. She was probably somewhere smiling already. My eyes scanned the room. She was already seated, radiant in a navy pantsuit that hugged her curves like sin, her golden hair pinned in a deliberately messy chignon that made her look effortlessly powerful. Her lips curled when our gazes locked like this was a game and she had the upper hand.I didn’t blink. I didn’t give her the satisfaction of a smirk or a glare. The judge entered, an aging man named Harold R. Linley.I’d met him years ago. Back then, he w

Dominic’s pov: The envelope wasn’t hand-delivered. That would’ve been too loud. Too messy. Too traceable.Instead, it came folded in thick ivory paper, nestled inside a black leather folder and passed to me by Desmond, who looked as if he’d seen a ghost.“It’s from her,” he said grimly. “Linda.”I took it. No expression. No words. The weight of it was heavier than the folder itself.I cracked it open, my hands steady even as my heart slammed against my ribs.A formal letterhead. A lawyer’s name I recognized was Greaves & Hanley. One of the most vicious corporate litigation firms on the East Coast.I scanned the first page. Then the second. My jaw tightened with every line. She was filing for administrative control over Khan Architectural.Citing “neglect of fiduciary duties,” “executive mismanagement,” and “shareholder endangerment.”Bullshit. Crafted, polished, and loaded with legal jargon, but still bullshit.Desmond was already pacing behind me. “She’s aiming for a hostile takeo

Linda’s pov:The rooftop bar was empty, private, exclusive, and overlooking the glowing skyline. The kind of place reserved for power plays and whispered betrayals.A steady wind tugged at my silk coat as I crossed the deck toward Tavon, who sat alone in the corner booth with a glass of whiskey in hand like a man planning a revolution.I didn’t sit immediately.I stood at the railing, overlooking the city as if it were mine to command. In a way, it still was. These buildings, these men, these stories? I’d been part of their foundations long before they started pretending I didn’t matter.“Took you long enough,” Tavon muttered, not even glancing up.I finally turned, sliding into the seat across from him like I owned the night. “I had to make sure I wasn’t followed. Dominic’s hounds are everywhere these days.”He smirked. “That’s because he knows someone’s playing chess with his life. I crossed my legs, fingers toying with the gold chain at my throat. “He will soon.”“What’s this meet

Dominic’s pov:The conference room was silent, eerily so.The only sound was the soft hum of the AC and the occasional click of Desmond’s fingers flying across his laptop as he mirrored the contents of the flash drive onto the secure screen.Everyone watched the black window flicker to life, revealing what looked like simple folders. Just names. Some were labelled “Suzanne.” Others, “Dominic K” One was marked Contract in bold.My jaw clenched.Desmond’s eyes narrowed. “Something’s wrong.”Ford stood from the corner, arms folded. “It’s too clean. Too organized. This wasn’t put together by Linda.”Desmond nodded slowly, fingers halting over the keys. “It’s a decoy.”I stepped forward. “Open it.”“I’m not sure that’s a good—”“Do it,” I ordered. My voice echoed in the room, hard as steel. He clicked. At first, the folder opened like a normal file.A few documents popped up, screenshots, edited contracts, and old bank records that meant nothing. But then Desmond’s entire screen flickered

Dominic’s pov:The boardroom was filled with chatter, screens glowing as Ford gave his report. I sat at the head of the table, my gaze unreadable, jaw tight, arms crossed. The room buzzed with low voices, papers rustling as updates rolled out, but my mind wasn’t fully in it.Not after the message Desmond forwarded earlier this morning, an anonymous tip about a possible breach in our private server.I’d already ordered the team to trace the source. My gut told me it wasn’t random, not with how quiet Tavon had been lately. And Suzanne… the way she looked last night, wrapped in my sheets, clinging to sleep like it was her only safe place… I couldn’t get it out of my head. She hadn’t said much this morning, but her eyes said everything. She needed peace. And I would burn the whole world to give it to her.“Dominic?” Ford asked, catching my attention.I blinked once. “Continue.”The glass windows overlooking the city reflected a pristine skyline, one I had built, piece by piece. • Married To My Ex-Husband’s Rival   Chapter 74: Another Scandal

Suzanne’s pov:I was curled up in the armchair beside the balcony doors, one of Dominic’s throw blankets wrapped around my shoulders… The soft rumble of distant waves rolled through the partially opened doors, the morning sun casting faint golden streaks across the marble floors.I wasn’t reading. I wasn’t scrolling. I was just… sitting. Letting the quiet be enough.Everything about last night still lingered, his hands, his breath, the way he looked at me like I was the only thing in the world that made sense. After everything that had shattered between us, something felt stitched back together, like some part of me that had gone numb was warm again.Still fragile, still trembling at the edges, but healing. My fingers traced slow circles over the fabric on my lap.I hadn’t spoken to Dominic yet this morning. He’d gone to handle some business, or so he’d said when he left our bed at dawn. But he didn’t leave like a man escaping. He kissed my forehead, tucked the blanket around me, a

Tavon’s pov:The text had come at dawn. No name. Just a number I hadn't seen in months. But I knew that tone. Sharp. Calculated. Dangerous.“We both know how much your pride matters. But if you don’t pick up my call, I’ll send your precious videos to your mother first. Then your church group.”Fiona.I stared at the message for a full minute, my mind still foggy from the restless night before. The audacity. She really had the nerve to crawl back from whatever cave she’d vanished into, after ruining everything and leaving me like a fool.I let the phone ring twice when she finally called. Just to let her wait. Then I answered. “You got some balls, showing up now.”Her voice came in cool, unbothered. “You always did like my balls better than your own.”I chuckled bitterly. “Still a bitch, I see.”“And you’re still a fool. So nothing’s changed.” She didn’t laugh. “But let’s not waste time with banter. You know why I’m calling.”I slumped deeper into the leather seat of my rented apartme

  • Married To My Ex-Husband’s Rival   Chapter 72: “I Should Have Felt Stronger”

Dominic’s pov:The morning light seeped through the curtains like a silent witness to the night before. Golden slivers danced across the sheets, casting faint shadows over the woman lying beside me.Suzanne.Her breathing was soft, steady—peaceful in a way I hadn’t seen in a long time. Her lashes fluttered slightly, lost in whatever world sleep had drawn her into.I sat up slowly, careful not to wake her. My hand braced against the mattress, muscles tensing as I watched her for a long moment. There was something sacred about this quiet. A rare pause in the chaos. But peace had never been mine to keep.I brushed a thumb across her cheek, lingering just long enough to memorize the softness there. And then I rose from the bed. The cold air met my skin like a jolt back to reality, to everything I’d tried to bury in the heat of last night.Tavon.That bastard’s voice still echoed in my head. “Let’s see how loyal he stays when he sees the real you…”I clenched my jaw, grabbing a clean s
