Thirty two

Walker placed his hands on top of his desk and leaned forward. He had been keeping this in his mind for a long time, but he was pushed to tell her. He could not have her married to someone else when he wanted her.

"I have known you since you were sixteen”.

"Pardon?” Charlotte felt like she couldn't hear properly.

He had surprised her twice this morning. First, he had asked her to divorce Dalton and now, he was telling her that he knew her when she was sixteen.

"Yeah,” Walker nodded his head, “Not even when you're sixteen. I knew you before you turned sixteen, but we officially met on your sixteenth birthday.”

Charlotte's brow furrowed in deep thoughts at his words. They met when she was sixteen? She could not remember ever meeting him. Hell, she could not even remember anything that had ever happened to her in her younger days.
