Thirty six

Charlotte's words were cut off as she heard her mother burst into loud sobs that made her heart stop beating in her chest for a second and when it started beating again, it was very fast.

Charlotte immediately let go of her work back to hug her mother, "Mom, please don't cry," as she said these words, she too felt her eyes clouding with tears.

One of the reasons she never wanted to tell her mother that she got married even when she knew that she would eventually have too. Charlotte knew that her mother would feel guilty. Her mother would feel like she ruined Charlotte's life because she was sick and couldn't afford her treatment.

"I'm so sorry Charlotte, it's all my fault. If only I was a good mother, if only I didn't fall sick all this wouldn't have happened. You wouldn't have had to get married to a man you don't know or like, I'm so sorry." Emily said amidst sobs

The tears immediately began to drop down Charlotte's face at her mother's words. She opened her mouth to stop her mother
