Eve's POV

"This is your room" Mr Maya took me upstairs later after his son, Liam left us in the living room.

"My room is downstairs. Anytime" He patted my shoulder but I took his hand off me.

"Don't worry about my son cold attitude towards you. You are safe here, he can't send you away. Moreso he is going back to his school tomorrow okay?"

I nodded, collected the key to my room from him.. 

"I would like to be alone" I opened the door and locked it immediately without letting him come in to finish what he started in the living room.

I sat on the floor and rested my back on the door.

Yeah the room is nice too.

It's exactly what I expected after seeing the living room and the outer part of the house.

Unlike my other house, here there was a queen sized bed and the room was well furnished. Infact it's the kind of fancy room i've always wanted to have.

But Money doesn't always bring happiness.

I began to sob silently.

So my Dad knows Mr Maya literally brought me here to always satisfy his sexual urges. Sex slave?

I cried profusely.

What would I do?

I wiped my tears and sniffed..

"Be strong Eve, this is not the end of the world"

"Crying wouldn't solve the problem"

"Think fast, think smart" I said to myself then stood up and pace round the room as I gently bit my finger.

Can I continue to pretend that I'm interested in him but deep down I'm not? Or should I just run away already.

I'll tell him I'm not interested and leave very early tomorrow morning.

I sighed, no.. Dad needs money for his surgery, we need money to feed, I need to go to college.

I planned to carry out Janet's plan but it means I'll be staying with him for some years and he will definitely have sex with me.

I'm afraid. This is not the way I want to live my life.

The tears were about to flow again but I sniffed and cleaned my eyes.

I didn't know when I slept off probably because the bed was just too comfortable. 

"5pm already" I sighted a small clock beside my bed.

I stood up and stretched my hands... Suddenly something came into my head ... "stay and endure. It's all for a good life"

That was what I concluded on doing before I slept off.

"You can do this Eve" I said to myself.

I walked to the wardrobe to keep my clothes in there and picked a light gown and put it on because I wanted something more comfortable.

My stomach rumbled, that was when I remembered that I haven't eaten anything since I left home.

Okay I'm literally a housewife now, meaning I'll do the cooking.

I sighed.... I remember I saw where the kitchen is located. Downstairs... Next to the staircase.

I walked out of my room, but before going down the stairs, I rested on the door and thought of how to react when I meet Mr Maya again.

Be nice with him, smile at him, never ask him unnecessary question. Just do what a wife should do..

I sighed again and was about to walk down the stairs..

When the door of another room that is in front of mine opened and Liam, Mr Maya son came out.

"Hi" I said to him.

"You are still here!" He blurted, shook his head and walked down the stairs before me.

He hates me already when I haven't done him any wrong.

I never forced myself on his Dad. He came over to my house himself to request for my hand in marriage.

I scorned and went down the stairs immediately after him.

I met Mr Maya in the living room, engrossed with his phone and his eye glasses on... And his son sat next to him.

"Do Helen still work here?" Liam asked his father.

"Of course. But she said she prefers to stay at the quarter" Mr Maya replied... He didn't even notice my presence. By the way who is Helen?

"Why?"

"I..I..errm... I don't know. I guess the house is too big for her to stay alone when I'm away" Mr Maya told him..

I ignored them and walked to the kitchen to check for the available foodstuffs. There were alot. The refrigerator was filled too.

Should I asked them what they would like to eat?

"But she comes here when it's almost dinner time" I heard Mr Maya say to his son.

Who's that? who is Helen? One of his wives? No, I remember Liam made use of the word 'Work'

"Then is she not supposed to be here already?" Liam asked his father.

"Are you hungry?"

"Yes I am, I guess I would just eat out" He said..

"I just called her now.. about ten minutes ago. I'm meant call her first before she leaves the quarter. She would be here soon" He said.

"I don't think I can wait for her arrival, I guess I would just drive down to a nearby restaurant" Liam said.

Oh Helen is the cook.

If he can't wait for the cook, I can just quickly prepare something for him to eat.

I came out of the kitchen to tell him.

"I will cook the dinner" I blurted.

"Eve, I didn't know you are there" Mr Maya said.

And I smiled mischievously.

"What would you like to eat? I will cook it" I asked Liam.

"What a joke" Liam hissed, ignoring me and walking towards the door..

Just then the bell rang.

"She's here. Helen" Mr Maya said and Liam opened the door.

  A pretty young girl came in. She's most likely to be my age mate or older than me.

"Hello Liam" She waved and smiled at him.

"Good evening Mr Maya" She said and turned to me.

"Err... Hi" She said, wondering who I was.

"Hello" I replied her. 

She seems nice.

"I was just about to get something outside to eat. Why are you just coming?" He asked her.

"I left home as soon as your Dad called me" Helen told him.

" Oh well, next time don't wait for his calls. Just come already when it's breakfast, lunch or dinner time" Liam said.

"Your Dad is not always at home. He calls me when he is around.. beside I didn't know you would be at home too. You have my number, don't you? Call me whenever you want me to cook for you" Helen said to him with so much confidence. Liam hissed and went back upstairs.

I smiled because Helen is not a softie like me. She has a touch of Janet's attitude and I think we are gonna be friends, good friends.

"Eve, this is Helen. Our cook. She will share her number with you before she leaves, you might need her tomorrow " Mr Maya said and I nodded as if I had a cell phone.

Well I had one but it spoilt sometimes ago. So I abandoned it.

Helen left us and went into the kitchen. Now I know why there are lot of foodstuffs in there.. simply because there is someone to go to the market and set food on the table for him. 

"You can return to the room. I'll let you know when she's done" He said staring at my standing nipples. Oops! cloth I wore was only quite revealing.

Then he licked his lips. I gave a false smile and went to the kitchen instead, Helen might want a helping hand.

Plus, I would love to be her friend.
