SAVANNAH'S POV
"Let's end this relationship" Levi's words were like a sharp knife that pierced my soul from many angles causing me to feel pain all over my body "I...I don't understand, did I do something?" I managed to say as I tried to hold onto his hand, he pulled away from my touch as if I were a poisonous plant and stepped back. "I don't have to explain myself to you, this is what I want," He said, not a hint of remorse or pity in his voice. Tears began to roll down my face as I began to understand the extent of the issue at hand. I struggled to find my voice as I asked him, "Is...Is there someone else?" "No" His reply was quick and cold. I expected more but it never came. "Levi, please don't do this to me, don't do this to us" I pleaded as I fell to my knees in front of him. "There is no us Savannah" My mouth dropped open at his choice of words. They were delivered with a harshness that shattered my heart into countless fragments, I could not bring myself to think that Levi, who loved me so deeply was now pushing me away, without any explanation. Tears continued to stream down my cheeks as I pleaded with him to stay, to give us another chance. But it seemed like he had made up his mind because he wasn't even looking at me anymore. His eyes were very cold and distant. As Levi turned to leave, a surge of desperation filled me up, I had to at least know why he was leaving me. "Please, Levi, tell me why you are suddenly doing this. At least tell me what I did wrong," I begged. But Levi remained silent, and that alone spoke such loud words. It was enough to make me realize that he had made up his mind and I just couldn't change it. He walked out the door without a backward glance and I was all alone in the bedroom. A room that was filled with so many memories of us, memories where we made love for the first time and of the nights we went to bed cuddled up after a misunderstanding. Realization hit me when I realized that it was over now. How could he throw all that we have away? How could he let go of my hand? Slowly, I fell to the floor, my sobs echoing in the silence. The weight of his words and absence pressed down on me, suffocating me with grief and confusion. How could everything we shared be so easily discarded? And just like that, a life I had envisioned with Levi was suddenly a closed chapter and all that was left was a life of loneliness ahead. ***** I found comfort in the bottle of red wine after hours had gone by since the breakup. Each gulp made me feel so alive and disgusted at the same time. The tingling sensation surged through my throat, intensifying with each passing second. I clenched my mouth tightly, desperately trying to suppress the impending force that threatened to escape, but despite my best efforts, the urge grew stronger, overpowering my grip. I couldn’t hold it back any longer and vomited right there. "Crap" I exclaimed as I stared at the red wine I had just consumed. I had been feeling nauseous for a while now but didn't throw up. I went to the mall and just decided to get a pregnant test strip to test it last week but never got to take it. Could I be pregnant or I was just overthinking things? Whatever it was, I had to find out. I rushed into the walk-in closet and began my search for the pregnancy test strip, I found it sitting at the bottom of the Dior bag that Levi bought for me on Valentine's Day last year. I rushed into the bathroom to take the test and after, I let it sit on the table while I waited for the result, trembling with fear as what would happen if I was truly pregnant crossed my mind. Five minutes was finally over and I reached for the pregnancy test that had the clearest positive result I have ever seen. I am pregnant? This wasn't the next step after what just happened today. What was I going to do now? Nothing made sense at that moment. How could this be happening to me? I had always been cautious. I wasn’t ready for a baby, not when Levi was no longer in my life. I managed to reach out for my phone to tell Levi that I was carrying his child. My fingers trembled, and tears blurred out my vision, I began searching for Levi's number on my phone but it was out of reach. I searched everywhere and other social media but I couldn’t gain access to him. He had blocked me. But I knew fully well that I just couldn't do this alone, The weight of responsibility settled heavily on my shoulders. As I sat there, tears streaming down my face, the nausea returned with a vengeance. My body convulsed, and I felt the familiar tingling sensation in my throat. The reality of my situation hit me like a tidal wave. Now the morning sickness, and the throwing up every day all made sense. How would this change my life? Would I be able to pursue my dreams while raising a child? Doubts and fear rained over me like they were threatening to consume me. Yet, amidst the chaos, I wiped my tears and took the first shaky breaths, I made a silent vow to love myself first, before anyone else. This was not going to end my dreams. It was a new chapter. Life threw me a curveball, but I was ready to face it. Slowly, I rose from the bathroom floor and vowed that I would get my revenge on Levi Carson, even if it was the last thing I did.SAVANNAH'S POV"I'm afraid that your daughter has leukemia Mrs Andrews" As soon as the doctor relayed this shocking news, my mouth dropped and my eyes widened."My daughter has leu...leukemia?" I struggled to speak, it was as if the air had left my lungs. The doctor's words hit me like a force. My daughter, whom I had to struggle to birth and raise alone, had a terminal illness. It felt like the ground had been pulled from beneath me. This wasn't part of the plan I had made years ago when I decided to have her."Mrs Andrews"My precious baby, I remember the first day she came into this world, a tiny bundle of hope and dreams. I vividly recalled the long hours of labor, the excruciating pain, and the overwhelming relief when the midwife finally placed her delicate body in my arms."Mrs Andrews, can you hear me?"I fought so much and worked so hard to settle the mounting hospital bills, taking on extra jobs just to put food on the table for my daughter despite being postpartum. Every ou
SAVANNAH'S POV"Levi?"The shock of seeing him there was palpable, and the haunting memories flooded my mind the minute our eyes met. It was a sight that stirred up emotions I had desperately tried to bury.Levi suddenly cut in with a sly grin on his face, it was not the kind of emotion I had wanted on his face when we met again.I wanted revenge then and I still want it now. I wanted to have reached my dream and had enough money but look at me. I was the exact opposite of everything I wanted. I was a nobody, I didn't have any money and my daughter's health was on a shaky foundation.Even now, Levi still had enough and was living fine, if I even got this job, he would be my boss. "Fate brought us back together" Was the first thing he said Fate brought us together? I wanted to scoff and walk out because I would rather sell my soul to the devil than smile with this man. But I needed the job so I remained composed."We meet again" My response was short enough to make me keep my sanity
SAVANNAH'S POVI made my way into the doctor's office that morning for the results of Sarah's checkup the day before. "Miss Andrews" The doctor smiled when he saw me but honestly I couldn't smile because there was nothing to be happy about."Good morning, how's my daughter doing?" I got straight to the point."Have you come up with the money Miss Andrews?" He askedI nodded in refusal before letting out a sigh. "I couldn't raise the money yet but I will," I said"I'm sorry but you don't have much time again, the cancer has spread through her internal organs," He said"My precious daughter" I began to sob and he pulled out a tissue for me before continuing. "I'm afraid that if we don't operate on her soon, it might be too late to do anything in a few weeks," The doctor said"What do you mean doctor?" I asked him, he couldn't possibly mean what I thought he did."I'm saying that your daughter will have less than a month to live if the surgery isn't done in the next two weeks,""My God"
SAVANNAH'S POVI meticulously fixed every element of my outfit, from the nicely pressed collar to the polished buttons, before entering the great dining hall of Rine's Gourmet, the restaurant where I worked. While I was wiping the counter later that day, I spotted a familiar face enter the restaurant, followed by a middle-aged woman who bore a strong likeness to him."What in the flying fuck was Levi doing here?" I muttered under my breath before rushing into the kitchen, praying that there would be another free waitress to take their order."Here you are Savannah, table five doesn't have anybody waiting at the table, get their orders," The manager said and I frowned Of all the days to be fully booked, why was it the day I didn't want to wait tables? "Yes sir," I said and then walked out of the kitchen with a frown.I had no idea I'd be serving them, but destiny had other plans. I felt a jolt of uneasiness as I approached the table where Levi and the woman were sitting. My stomach c
LEVI I left my brother's restaurant in anger before heading to my office. How could he step in my way just like that? He had never spoken to me in that manner before and yet he went crazy just because I broke a plate and wanted to teach Savannah a lesson. He embarrassed me in front of Savannah herself, in front of her mother, and even in a crowd. If we were lucky enough, nobody in that restaurant would have caught it on camera. That bastard! Was there something going on between him and Savannah? Were they more than employee and employer? Did Savannah go after him because she knew that he was my brother and wanted to hurt him? That whore must want to get married to a rich man at all costs. I won't let her ruin the relationship I have with my brother and neither will I let her take everything from this family through him. I needed to act fast now. "Mr Carson" I immediately looked up at my secretary with a frown. "Why would you come into my office without knocking? Is everything okay?
SAVANNAH "Where is she?" I was dumbfounded by his sudden outburst. He doesn't mean? "You can't come to my house and then act as if I took something that is yours you bastard" I yelled at him. Thank God that Sarah wasn't home or she would have witnessed this right now. What would I have told her? I got out of the house and then stepped away from the house while holding Levi's hand, "You can't be yelling in my street so get the fuck out before I call the cops" I threatened and he burst into laughter "The cops? And what are they going to do once they find out that you are holding my child hostage?" He asked My eyes widened, he just confirmed my thoughts, he knows about Sarah and that she is his daughter. "I don't know what you are talking about and I am not holding anyone hostage" Till when could I keep lying? "It will do you no good to keep lying savvy, tell me where my daughter is, and maybe I will decide not to take you to court or take her away from you" My heart stopped "Yo
SAVANNAH I was scared but I stood my ground, I would not let him come to my house just to intimidate me, I don't owe him anything. "If we go to court, you will lose Savannah" He suddenly said causing my blood to boil. "Who the fuck are you? You can't just barge into my life and expect me to answer your every question.” I retorted, His lips trembled, "Savannah, how could you keep our child a secret from me? Is this your way of punishing me for what happened between us?" His voice reverberated with an intense wave of anger. "My way of punishing you? I suffered alone Levi and I couldn't get to you because you blocked me. My daughter isn't a punishment for your stupid lies, so don't you dare act like you are a victim here" I spat out in anger. "You still kept her from me" He whispered "Levi, I never wanted to keep her from you. You never gave me the chance to talk. You cut me off from everyone and everything. I was scared…scared of how you would react, scared of the consequences for b
SAVANNAH'S POV We managed to make it to the hospital right on time. As we rushed in, the sterile white walls of the hospital corridor echoed with hushed whispers and angst. We both hurriedly approached the front desk."Where’s my daughter?!” I apprehensively requested wishing anyone would give me attention before a nurse directed us to the waiting room. “You’ll have to wait there’s a line ma’am.” She said. I soon grew impatient and needed to see the doctor as I was losing my mind. While we stood, the scent of antiseptic hung in the air, adding to the tension that oppressed me.Minutes looked like hours while we curiously waited for news about our daughter's current state. My face appeared pale and weak and I saw the fear in his eyes mirroring mine. Finally, after what felt like eternity, the door creaked open, and a middle-aged doctor with a stern expression emerged, his white coat slightly disheveled, he wasn't my daughter's usual doctor. "Good evening doctor" In a soft but ser
SAVANNAH "Levi, I know that you took our daughter. She's sick, so she has to be in the hospital," I begged later that day on the phone with Levi. "So now she's our daughter," he laughed. Roman frowned and stepped forward to take the phone, but I stopped him. I didn't want Levi to know we were together, or it would just make him even more angry. It was best if I handled everything by myself, so he had to let me do it and just trust me. "I'm sorry if I offended you, Levi, but Sarah might die if she isn't in the hospital," I began to sob."Do you think I will kill my daughter? I know that she will die if not properly attended to, and that's why I got her transferred to another hospital. She will be taken care of daily." As soon as he said that, I felt at ease a bit. At least now I knew that he wasn't keeping her in a dungeon just to spite me. "When can I see her? I need to see my daughter, please." I begged "I'm sorry, but you might never see her again, Savvy. I will be going to co
SAVANNAH"God, I knew that Levi deserved it, but Roman was so wrong," I ranted as I walked out of the hospital with anger. I had almost gotten to the garden at the back when I was pulled back and I turned to look at Roman.I instantly began to pull my hand away from his hand when I realized that he was the one. "Don't touch me" I yelled at him and pulled my hand away.He pulled me back again, "I'm sorry, Savannah, please," He muttered with his head bowed, and I stared at him. How could I even get mad at him when he was this cute while sorry?"I don't like what you did in there; you should have known better, Roman. How could you hit Levi in public?" I asked in angerHe moved closer to me, still holding my hand but I didn't move away from him again. "I know, Savannah, I was wrong, but I couldn't hold back. I had to hit him once, he touched you"I touched his face and smiled at him, "I know that you love me and can't bear to see me hurt, but next time, please control yourself. What if so
SAVANNAHWhen I opened my eyes, I wanted everything that had happened some hours earlier to be a joke, but it wasn't. I was in the familiar setting, but just in a different room. This was the hospital, and I must have passed out earlier after hearing the most shocking news of my life."You are awake, oh, thank God." I turned to my side when I heard the voice. It was Roman, and he was wearing a frown as he held my hand."What are you doing here? How did you?" I began to ask as I tried to get up from the bed, but he shut me up immediately. "You shouldn't talk too much or try to get up; you passed out from shock." He explained and helped me get back in bed.I nodded because there was no use arguing with him; I would never win. "How did you know that I was here?" I asked him"I didn't see you at work, so I asked Joshua. He informed me that you were receiving constant calls from Cory. I suspected this could be related to Sarah, as she was scheduled to babysit her today." When I got to the
SAVANNAH"Welcome to Rine's palace. My name is Savannah, and I will be your waitress for today. What would you like to order?" I smiled so brightly as I handed the two men, who had just walked into their respective menus."Oh Savannah, my name is Robert, and this is my friend Wayne." The man I was standing in front of introduced himself to me. Although it wasn't needed, some customers still did the unbelievable, and I couldn't be rude to them no matter what, so I smiled at him."Nice to meet you, sirs. Can I take your orders now?" I asked, and they nodded. The two of them ordered a steak, some salad, and some rice along with it. I wrote them down quickly and then smiled again. "Your food will be here in ten minutes," I announced."Thank you, Savannah. When did you start working here?" Another question was thrown my way, and I almost grumbled, couldn't a girl do her job in peace?"It's been close to a year, sir," I responded, and he nodded. "May I bring you two anything to drink, or th
SAVANNAHMy name was a fine work of art on his lips, and just then, his body jerked forward, filling my mouth with his cum. I did the craziest thing while staring at him; I swallowed it and looked up at him."Holy fuck, Savannah, that was sexy as fuck," he whispered, and I smiled up at him smugly and got up from the ground with his help.He dropped me on his lap, so I was straddling him before he kissed me passionately. We went at it for several minutes, and after, I leaned back, both of us breathing harshly, catching our breath. I kissed him lightly one more time on his lips. "I want to make love to you on this sofa," he confessed while staring at me. I silenced him with a kiss."What's stopping you from doing just that?" I whispered, and he grounded his erection down on my core, making me gasp and tear my mouth from his, groaning as I threw my head back, intense pleasure vibrating through my veins."Roman, I swear I can never get enough of you." My words seemed to ignite him, and his
SAVANNAHWhen I got into the kitchen, everywhere smelt like pasta. "Oh no, baby, you didn't," I pouted, and Roman removed the apron from his neck before flashing me a smile. Where was the man who had cried like a baby a few minutes ago?"I made something for you to apologise for cancelling our date oday." He passed me the plate of pasta, and I smiled before taking one bite.My eyes widened, and I took another bite and then another before looking up at him. "Have I ever told you that you are a wonderful cook?" I asked, holding a thumbs up, and he laughed."I own a restaurant, Savannah; of course, I can cook." He said the obvious, and I mouthed, "Oh," before the two of us laughed. He placed a bottle of wine and two glasses on the table. "What's the occasion?" With my mouth full, I asked."I have the most beautiful woman in the world in my life; of course, every day calls for a celebration." He was too effective with his words. He made me blush easily, and sometimes I find it hard to bel
SAVANNAH After the call with Levi ended, I tried to quickly wipe the tears from my face with the sleeve of my dress before going in search of Roman. Levi's words deeply hurt him, and truthfully, I couldn't hold it against him, as I too would have experienced the same pain.Imagine someone telling me that the family I have known all my life and grew up with wasn't my family. It's possible that I'm the outcome of a romantic affair. I was on the verge of losing my mind, engulfed in anger, and vanishing from the world. I wanted to console Roman also, so I couldn't tell him anything about what Levi had said to me. Roman was getting hurt because of me, and that was the truth. Levi simply wants our relationship to end, and then he wants me to marry him. After that, Roman will no longer be hurt, and he won't have to endure suffering simply because he loves me. I would never forgive myself if anything happened to him just because he is holding on to me. However, how was I expected to let go
LEVI"What are you going to do about your brother and that woman? Will you continue to linger here due to their presence? It's been three weeks already, Levi," Hannah said as she began to get dressed.I didn't even know why I was running—the fact that Savannah might never grant me access to my daughter again, or the fact that Roman confessed to having feelings for Savannah, and she might have feelings back for him. "I know that already, Hannah. Can you stay out of my business if you don't have anything meaningful to tell me?" I spat out. "It's pretty easy, Levi; I know you feel cornered, but don't forget who you are. You can easily get whatever you want within seconds, so why are you hesitating?" She was making a lot of sense. "What are you saying? Go on." I urged her to go on. "You possess the power and influence; they should tremble upon hearing your name, yet you cower at the sight of them and go straight to a place to hide?" This isn't the Levi Carson I know. You have gone sof
SAVANNAH The next morning, I woke up feeling better; I had not slept like this in weeks. I have been extra careful and monitored everything I did because I didn't want to be on the Internet, and I also didn't want Levi to gain access to me. Although he had not reached out to me since that day, I slammed the door in his face, which made me glad. Roman told me a few weeks ago that he was out of the country for a work-related business, and my joy knew no bounds. No Levi meant there was no need to stress or live in fear. This way, I could go on as many dates as I wanted with Roman, spend so much time outdoors with my little princess, and go out for drinks and dance with my best friend.I hoped that he would stay there forever, but I know that he can't. I turned to my side to look at Roman's sleepy face; he looked so peaceful and calm, like a baby. I can't even begin to thank him for bringing so much love and light into my life. I had never experienced this kind of thing until I met him
