We Miss Each Other

Emily opened the door with a hint of irritation, expecting Fanny to be bothering her again. “What the—” her words were cut off when her eyes met the figure in the doorway. It wasn’t Fanny, but Delvin, standing there with a worried expression on his face.

“Emily? Where have you been? Why—” Delvin began, his voice filled with confusion and concern. However, before he could continue, Emily reached out and tried to close the door without saying a word.

Delvin was startled, seeing the door nearly closing. Quickly, he reached out and stopped it from closing completely.

Meanwhile, Emily pushed against the door with all her strength. A moment of silence enveloped them, with only their breathing audible in the tense air.
