I was done in the kitchen, I had to return an hour earlier because I wanted to surprise Olivia with a special meal, so I rushed back upstairs to refresh, knowing she would be back before I got out of the washroom. I had planned to finish refreshing and then set the table before she returned home, but it was already 8 p.m. and I knew she would be here any moment.

I walked out of the shower, dressed neatly in a white pant and white shirt, as I made my way downstairs, a smile plastered on my face because I knew she would already be in the kitchen staring at the food with admiration. I am not much of a cook, but I made sure to take my time to make her this pasta and vegetables, I knew she would love it. I walked down the stairs, tiptoeing to the kitchen, hoping to catch her admiring the food and hug her from behind.

I peered into the kitchen, but it was empty; my brows knitted together as I pulled out my phone, it was 8:30 p.m, is she not yet back? I decided to set the table right
