Evy

"Hiking trails, waterfall baths, climbing, hunting, dinners, and toasts by the fireplace. Thinking about it, our honeymoon wasn't so bad after all. I might even say I got to know a side of Mr. D'Angelo that he's keen on hiding. Away from business, he's just a surprising young man with good conversation and an easy smile. And what a smile!

"We'll be leaving in a few minutes!" Gael announces, giving two knocks on my bedroom door.

"Okay!" I shout so he can hear me and focus on packing my bags.

Initially, this place scared me a lot, and I was furious at the thought of being stuck here without a cell phone, TV, or anything to distract me. However, I confess I'll miss this place, and all this nature. Its sounds, and even your company, because when we return to the city, he'll revert to being Mr. D'Angelo again. I know it.

"Good Lord, woman, what are you doing in there?!" He growls irritably, and I scoff at his impatience. I close the suitcase and finally open the door. Gael immediat

Evy A week later... I let my body fall freely onto the soft mattress, audibly exhaling. Yes, I'm entirely and completely bored, and it's been less than a week! I knew every floor of this house, every room, every detail of its decoration like the back of my hand, and I no longer know what to do to keep my mind occupied. Since we returned from our honeymoon, Gael is practically never at home. Except for bedtime, and that happens when I'm already asleep, and the next day he leaves before I wake up. It sure is the perfect arrangement. No demands, no nagging. I'm simply living the good life, and in the end, I even get a good chunk of money for my work. "What a drag!" My phone signals a message, and I quickly jump out of bed. A huge smile spreads across my lips when I see it's from Doctor Monique, and eagerly I open it to read. Then I start excitedly bouncing around the room. Judy Dixon has finally woken up, and I can finally go visit her! I rush to the bathroom and take a quick shower.

Evy "I park the car in the mansion's vast garage and hurriedly walk inside, shrugging. If the butler hasn't spilled the beans, D’Angelo probably isn't even aware of my departure, making it seem like I never really left. And you know what? I don't care if he knows or not. The fact is, Mr. D’Angelo doesn't care about me. To him, I'm just part of this stupid décor, just another trophy in his collection. I swing open the living room door, ready to climb the stairs for a long shower, but I halt in the center of the room when I see him in his expensive, elegant suit, his back turned to me. D’Angelo slowly turns and stares at me as if he could kill me with just a glance. I take a deep breath, subtly take two steps forward, this time without any rush. "Where were you, Evy?" He growls coldly. My eyes drop to the whiskey glass in his hand, then rise to his irritated eyes. "I went to visit my mother." A subtle smirk appears at the corner of his mouth, and I assure you, it's not humorous. "It'

Evy Outside the house, I settle into a lounge chair and stare at the starless night sky. What was I expecting from this situation? Damn it, I'm just a damn contract, and I should be satisfied that he's keeping his word! Gael doesn't owe me anything; I'm the one in debt to him. A glass appears in my field of vision, and through its transparent edges, I see him. He looks serious and somewhat apprehensive. I adjust myself on the lounge chair and take the glass from his hand. He sits on the adjacent chair and sips some of his wine. "How was it with your mother?" The question catches me off guard, but merely asking warms me. "She's fine! Just... something came up that... left me reeling." "What?" "She doesn't remember the accident, so she doesn't know that my dad died and that Alex left." "I'm so sorry! Come here." Gael sets his glass aside, opens his arms, and without hesitation, I move to nestle in them. He kisses my hair, and I close my eyes to savor the contact. "It'll all work ou

Evy I drag myself out of bed to the bathroom, barely awake. After rejuvenating under the shower, I head downstairs for breakfast. Walking to the kitchen, thoughts of last night flood my mind, and I find myself smiling foolishly, reminiscing about Mr. D'Angelo's company. He hasn't realized it yet, but he's a remarkable man! Beyond his tough CEO facade, he's cheerful, engaging, and our conversations, becoming increasingly intimate, amuse and relax me. Watching him devour three sandwiches with such satisfaction last night made me realize pleasing him isn't so hard. However, he remains a locked secret, at least from my perspective. Nonetheless, making him laugh was my mission, and I can confidently say I succeeded. As I step into the kitchen bustling with staff multitasking, my eyes land on the young woman who entered my room a few days ago. "You," I point to her, catching her attention. "What's your name?" "It's Guadalupe, ma'am." She approaches the counter. "Are you Spanish?" "Yes."

Evy "Ma'am, Mr. D'Angelo is wai... Wow, Ma'am, you look stunning!" I grin broadly at Guadalupe, who gazes at me as though I were the biggest Christmas present in the world, and I turn to face her. "Do you think he'll like it?" "Are you kidding?! He'll fall in love all over again, Ma'am!" My smile falters a bit, but I quickly regain composure, knowing the truth behind that statement. "Mr. D'Angelo asked me to let you know he's already waiting." "I'm ready. Just need to grab my purse." I quickly head to the bed and grab my handbag, ready to leave the room. At the top of the stairs, I stop in awe when I see him in an elegant black suit that gives him an unparalleled power. Gael raises his head the moment he lifts his whiskey glass to his lips, pausing mid-motion. His dark eyes roam over the single-strapped red dress clinging to my body, eagerly tracing its length, subtly stopping at the slit beginning at the middle of my thigh, and finally, resting on the delicate, thin-strapped high

Evy "You look amazing, Mrs. D'Angelo," he whispers some time later, possessively wrapping his arm around my waist and starting a slow dance among the few couples. "I'm so proud of you." "Thank you," I whisper back. Gael leans in a bit, his face close to mine, and immediately our eyes meet. "Now, onto phase two," he says. I consider pulling back a bit to ask about this phase two he mentioned, but unexpectedly, he holds the back of my neck, catching a few strands of my hair between his fingers, and before I can even breathe, his mouth tenderly captures mine in a slow, warm manner. However, it's no less intense and provocative. Provocative, indeed! Because I feel something I can't quite explain. I just know it's quite... enjoyable, and I don't want it to end... ever! But he interrupts the kiss and eagerly murmurs, "I love you." My heart races too fast, I can barely breathe. The spell breaks when he raises his eyebrows, forces a smile, and leans in close to my ear again. "Jasper can lip

Evy I slowly open my eyes, greeted by a beautiful, sunlit morning flooding my room mercilessly. I groan in frustration; it's already daytime. For the first time, I had the worst night of my life in this house. After leaving Gael with his ridiculously hot advances in the living room, I locked myself in my room, fighting not to go back and claim what he was offering so eagerly. Quickly, I shed the dress and high heels, racing to the bathroom and discarding my undergarments along the way. I turn on the shower and almost scream when the cold water hits my body, which burns from within. Whoever said cold water calms the fire of seduction either didn't know Gael D’Angelo or couldn't be more wrong! After that, I tossed and turned practically the whole night, occasionally lost in insanely hot thoughts. Result? I lost sleep, and by the time I finally managed to sleep, dawn was breaking. Damn it, I dreamt of my husband devouring me in every corner of this room! Frustrating! I sigh heavily, d

Evy After stopping at a café and purchasing the most delicious croissants along with two large cups of espresso generously topped with cream, the car parked in front of the oncology clinic. For the first time, I observed its elegant façade adorned in light shades of green and soft beige. Anxiously, I entered the building because conversing with my mother had been a soothing balm amid my rather tumultuous life. Witnessing Judy's animated and clear-minded demeanor, her laughter and trivial chatter, brought happiness and reminded me of the woman she had always been. Despite the harsh reality of Andrew Dixon's death sinking in, she remained unfazed. Yet, beneath it all, a trace of sadness lingered in her gaze. Before heading to her room, I decided to stop by Dr. Monique's office as I needed an update on her treatment progress and the prospects concerning my mother's illness. As always, she greeted me at the door with a professional yet friendly smile. "Evy, I'm glad you're here! I've be

Miran D'Angelo"I'm going to get a drink for the girls. Do you want one?" David, Marie's boyfriend, asks, and without looking at him, I shake my head and head for the iron staircase. As if drawn to her, I go straight to the dance floor, right in the middle of the crowd of sweaty bodies, and stop right behind her. Boldly, my hands take possession of her waist. She glances sideways, her smile widens, and I have my green light. So, I lean against her delicious body and move following her rhythm. The whole thing is a sensual drug that intoxicates me, envelops me, and leaves me completely intoxicated. My whole body is buzzing, and damn, I'm dying to taste her flavor. But hold on, Miran, you need to take it slow. First, feed your desire, awaken your dormant fire, make her want more, and then you'll be in the bag. It doesn't take long for our bodies to be tightly pressed and sweaty. Our breaths are heavy and panting, and to top it off, we're already on the third drink. It's time to put her t

Miran D’AngeloEleven years later..."Why do you always have your nose buried in those books?" I grumble as soon as I enter the living room of my parents' house and find Donna, my youngest sister, lying on one of the sofas reading a romance novel.Girls! Why do they believe in such nonsense? They're always sighing around and daydreaming. I understand that love exists. I have several classic examples swirling around me. Paul, Max, Uncle Jasper, and even my father. Each of them has a story to tell. But let's be honest? You can't live on dreams. I'm not a heartless man or anything like that. I'm more of a pragmatist. I'm the vice president of D’Angelo Corporation and soon I'll be the president, but I didn't get here with dreams and sighs. I studied, worked hard, and did my best to be seen by my father and recognized for my merits. I'm determined, and I have my feet firmly on the ground."I love witnessing love growing in their hearts. You should try it," she says, closing the book and ju

EvyMinutes later...Remember the part where my world was falling on top of my head? It just collapsed completely because at this exact moment, there are several men scattered throughout the mansion with their pens and clipboards, calculating the value of everything. Exactly everything. Not even my jewelry escaped this. Nervously, I grabbed my phone and called my brother. Where did this idiot go? I wondered mentally when yet another call went straight to voicemail."Damn it!" I cursed with a loud exhale and pocketed the phone back."Miss Dixon?" I subtly nod to the tall, portly man as he approaches. "My name is Phil Carter, I'm the manager of the Seattle bank, and I would like to talk to your mother about some outstanding matters...""You'll have to talk to me, Mr. Carter. Please, come with me to the study," I say and take a few stiff steps, leading him inside and pointing to a chair for the gray-haired gentleman. "Care for a drink?""Oh no, thank you, it's still too early," he nods.

EvyAt dinner, I was super happy and excited about my surprise, but the atmosphere seemed a bit off. John had a smile on his face, but he couldn't take his eyes off his plate. Why was this strange? Well, normally, he's chatty and funny too. Dad, on the other hand, was serious and barely touched his food, and my mom seemed a bit pale. If this surprise could tragically change the mood of our dinner, I confess I'm afraid to find out what it is."I need to go out," Dad announced suddenly, and Mom dropped her utensils on the plate. He went to the living room, and she followed him immediately."What was that? What's happening?" I asked my brother. However, he let out a theatrical sigh and looked at me with a certain disdain."It was nothing, little sis. Dixon family dramas that you know well. I don't know how you're not used to it yet." I forced myself to swallow the food in my mouth, left the utensils, and went after them. Dixon family drama? What kind of talk is this? Since when do we hav

He nods, indicating a chair, and I politely take a seat."First of all, I want you to know that I just graded your test.""And?" I arch my presumptuous eyebrows because I know exactly what the result is."You are truly amazing, girl!" I break into a broad and smug smile."Thank you, Professor!""Anyway, that's not what I wanted to talk about.""So, what is it about?""I've had my eye on you for some time, Ivy. And since we're nearing the end of the course, I'd like to invite you to go out." Okay, I swallowed hard now. Okay, he's really handsome and attractive too. There's just a little problem in this equation. After focusing on this course, my second focus will be getting into one of Seattle's largest accounting firms "the D’Angelo Corporation" and for that, I'll have to take another deep dive into the world of numbers, but this dive needs to be much deeper. From this chapter onwards you will have a spin-off of Ivy Dixon. How it all began?*** EvyMoments before the Dixon family went bankrupt..."My name is Ivy Dixon, but you already know that. As you've probably noticed, I'm a pretty outgoing and lively girl. However, I'm also determined and opinionated. So, I can take things easy, but don't step on my toes. Besides this mixed personality of mine, I have an exaggerated passion for numbers, and that's been the case for as long as I can remember. That's precisely why I'm studying accounting.Well, I was born into a family with Italian veins, and I believe that's where my determination comes from. I have few friends at the moment, and don't think it's because of shyness, because if there's one thing I'm not, it's shy. GaelSeven years later...Every passing day convinces me that I was a fool. Remembering that I was once an arrogant man, equally tough on myself, everything, and everyone around me, makes me realize that I wasted a lot of time licking my wounds and covering my eyes to see only what I allowed myself to see. For this reason, my universe changed course in a radical and painful way. I had to face fear head-on. I had to endure the cold that nearly froze my bones and the storms that almost destroyed me to get here. I reflect as I watch the preparations for my youngest daughter's fifth birthday party."Grandma? Grandma?"
