Chapter 2

After dinner, Nitin, Madhu, Sameer and Mansi were in Nitin's bedroom discussing about the alliance.

Mansi : Didi let's open the biodata and see the girl's picture.

After reading it Sameer and Mansi were surprisingly shocked.

Sameer : Bhaisaab this Arpita is working in our company only.

Mansi grinned : No wonder I felt the name familiar. Bhaisaab, didi this girl is indeed very pretty and talented. She is the youngest employee who is a part of our company's core team who works for only big and prestigious clients.

Madhu looked at the photo lovingly caressing it : Indeed she is perfect for our Adi and for us.

Vikas, Akshara and Paridhi came in the room right at that moment.

Pari : Can we come in?

Nitin chuckled : From when did you start taking permission Pari?

Pari grinned at him and sat in between Nitin and Madhu looking at the beautiful girl's picture in Madhu's hand.

Pari : She is like an angel Badima.. see bhabhi..

She forwarded the photo to Akshara whereas Vikas was reading the biodata.

Vikas was momentarily shocked reading the biodata.

He turned to his father and said : Dad this girl is Veer's sister. How come I didn't correlated it?

Akshara : This is Veer's sister? Are you sure Vikas?

Vikas grinned and forwarded the biodata to her : 100 percent sure Akshu. Read the biodata.

Nitin : Veer as in Rajveer, your friend right? The one who is cardiac surgeon?

Vikas : Yes dad the same Veer who was my college friend and works with me now. His family is simple and sofesticated just like us dad.

Sameer : Chalo it's good now we need not bother to find out more about the girl and her family. Infact kids Arpita works in our company only as interior designer. She is very smart and efficient employee of us.

Paridhi : Then what are we waiting for. Let's talk about this with Adibhai and set the meeting with them.

Madhu : Not now Pari. I and Nitin will talk with Adi regarding this tomorrow. Let's see what he thinks about this alliance and then decide further.

Mansi : Ok everybody it's late now. Come let's sleep.

Wishing goodnight, everyone went to their room for a sound sleep.

Next morning, right after breakfast when everyone was leaving for their respective works, Madhu nudged Nitin and he nodded silently turning towards Aditya.

Nitin : Adi beta I and your mother wanted to discuss something important with you.

Aditya looked at his watch and said : Anything important dad? If not then can we discuss about it in the afternoon? I will be back by lunchtime today.

Madhu frowned : Why come so early today?

Aditya : Because I just have one court case's hearing now in an hour and after that one meeting with a new client. No other work for today.

Madhu sighed : Fine then we will discuss it post lunch.

Kissing her cheek, Aditya hurried out of house towards the courtroom.

Madhu : This boy needs to slow down. He works like a machine.

Nitin chuckled : You used to say the same for me till few years back.

Madhu glared at him : That was because you were unstoppable at that time and now even Adi is following your footstep.

Nitin : Don't worry Madhu. Once he will get married then he will himself stop working too much. Let's talk with him after lunch. I am going in my study room.

Madhu : Ok

After delicious lunch, Aditya was sitting in living room with his parents when he remembered their morning conversation.

Adi : Dad, mom you both wanted to discuss about something with me in the morning right? Tell me now..

Nitin : Umm Adi yesterday Awantikaji and Milindbhai bought an alliance for you..

Aditya interrupted in between :  Dad I am not interested..

Madhu : Beta atleast listen to us! They know the girl and her family personally. Arpita Nanda is that girl's name and she is working in your Chacha's company. Infact her brother is also a doctor and Vikas's good friend.

Adi : Mom I am not so sure of this arranged marriage thing and all. I mean how can we judge a person in just one meeting and name our entire life for them.

Nitin smiled : Son arranged marriage is not as bad as you think. I and your mother had arranged marriage. Your Chacha and Chachi also had arranged marriage. Aren't we all happy in our lives?

Madhu caressed Adi's hair and said : Yes dear your dad is right. Arranged marriages have its own fun. It's a beautiful journey where you meet a total stranger and then slowly and eventually that stranger becomes the reason of your existence. In our time, we were not allowed to even meet each other before marriage but now you people are given a chance to see each other, meet and know each other.

Adi : But mom still....

Akshara and Paridhi who came few minutes ago heard their conversation and took a seat besides Madhu.

Akshara : Adi is there any other girl in your life?

Adi : No bhabhi there's no one!!

Akshara : Then just meet her once. If you like her then we can proceed further. It will be completely your decision.

Pari : Yes bhai bhabhi is right. Moreover I am sure once you look at her photo, your no will definitely change into yes.

Aditya scowled at her : It's not funny Pari!!

Madhu : Adi now go and take some rest. I have kept the envelope containing her biodata and picture in your room. Think and then let us know about your opinion alright?

Aditya nodded and went to his room to avoid any further discussion on this topic. He closed the door and laid on his bed to rest but his mind was wondering back again and again to that marriage topic. He wondered will it be so bad to just give it a shot. He has seen many arranged marriages successful and moreover what is the harm in meeting once.

He sighed and out of curiosity grabbed the envelope lying on his side table. He sat taking the support of backrest and read the biodata.

Father : Vinay Nanda, Retired army officer

Mother : Mohini Nanda, retired column and blog writer

Sister-in-law : Dr. Suchita Nanda, Gynecologist

Neice : Riva Nanda ( 3 months old)

He was quiet impressed by the biodata but when he lazily turned the photo of her, his breath ceased and his heart skipped a beat. He kept staring at her photo for few minutes without blinking his eyes.

Aditya (self talk) : My God, what a beauty she is! I have never seen such a beautiful girl in my life. Her big and doe shaped hazel eyes depict her innocence. Her shapely pointed nose and her perfectly arched eyebrows are purely God's artwork. Her pink petal lips and milky white skin are already creating a havoc in my body. But the most attractive part was a mole on the right side of her chin. It added more beauty to her already beautiful face.

Aditya was impressed reading her biodata but he was more clean bowled seeing Arpita's picture. Now he understood why his family was praising her so much. Even he was now eager to meet her ASAP.
