Chapter 3

"You are welcome to the world of werewolves," he said resting his back on the comforter and looking into my eyes smirking.

It started as a chuckle and then led to full-blown laughter, I laughed so much that tears dropped from my eyes and my stomach hurt. He was good, I almost fell for it. What in the world? Out of everything, the only thing he could come up with was werewolves. Seriously? Anytime I want to sober up and say something his words just replay in my head and am back to laughing again. But as I looked up at him, a crisp between his eyebrows and a frown on his lips and his stares unflattering, my laughter died as I began to wonder if truly they existed.

"You are kidding, right?, I mean there is nothing like werewolves, those are children's fantasy, bedtime stories". I could take her to the hospital but they would be at the expense of our existence leaking out, I remember what he told that other man during their conversation. Could it be true?

"Well, you will die if you don't turn to that child fantasy". Evan said maintaining a frown on his face.

"Please don't kill me" l begged frantically. I didn't run from New York to Alaska to die here, in a strange land surrounded by strange and good-looking people.

"Well I don't want to, but you would be begging me to you". In all the years that I have been tortured, never for once did I think of committing suicide instead I think of how to run from it. I don't know why I thought to commit suicide but am never doing it again.

"why?" I said curious about why he thought so. He didn't say anything but slowly unbuttoned the green shirt he was wearing and took it off, I blushed when I looked and saw how muscular he was underneath, he stood up to take off his pants and I averted my gave looking at my hand as I used my hair to cover my face so he wouldn't know that I was now a tomato red.

" Can I ask why you are undressing..." I wasn't through when I heard the sound of something cracking painfully. I couldn't help but look up and I didn't expect what I saw next. It was Evan's bones cracking and breaking into contorts sickening direction, I felt bile rise to my throat at the sight of furs pricking out of his skin, sharp teeth that were peeking out of his lips, his mouth elongating, his head contorting into a muzzle and his ears getting bigger and the sound of cracking getting louder.

I opened my mouth to scream but no sound came, I wanted to run but I was petrified. My mind was slow to comprehend what my eyes were seeing. What the fucking hell!. I subtly pinched myself to know if I was dreaming, but I wasn't watching a human slowly change into a wolf and that is when the seriousness of the situation dawned on me.

The next time I blinked he had changed to a large black wolf. He was huge, larger than your average wolf, almost the size of a damn horse. He slowly menacingly walked towards me, his muscles rippling beneath the furs. Something told me he was trying to scare me, and though I was scared I didn't give him the satisfaction of seeing it instead I controlled my breathing. He came dangerously close to me, so close I could feel his breath fanning me. The hairs on my skin were erect and Goosebumps everywhere but that didn't stop me from reaching out to touch him.

Immediately he noticed the movement his ear stood in alertness and his eyes watched with curiosity. I rested my hand gently on its head or should I address it as his, am so confused. It leaned closer as I continued to rub my palm against his furs and after a few seconds retreated to where his clothes were before my mind could register what he was going to do he shifted back to his human form. I dropped my eyes down as he wore his clothes.

"Did you just change to a dog?" I asked recovering from the shock. " Wolf" he corrected. Whatever, that looked painful and I don't wish to experience that.

" You would have to if you want to live". He walked to the door, turning to look at me over his shoulder just as he turned the knob.

"You begin your training tomorrow" and with that he left, leaving me alone with only my thoughts and unanswered questions hanging in the air making it hard to breathe and difficult not to focus my thoughts on anything. Sooner than I expected I was embraced by darkness.

She understood what I meant and gestured for me to wait before leaving. She came back with her bag, she already removed her apron and was talking to the other woman before waving her hand for me to follow her. I stood up and caught up with her." Let's start with Sandra's house. She said she's got a new job. Her house is not far from here. Come on" she said increasing her pace. It didn't take long before we got there. It was a small cabin with a small garden at the side. The place looked welcoming and well taken care of, but it wasn't until we walked up the staircase before we thought otherwise. The wooden stair creaked under our weight with each step we took. Kaitlyn was the one who knocked on the door while I stood beside her. We waited for a few seconds before the door clicked open to reveal a woman in her mid-thirties. She was wearing a pair of pants and a blue top that had a patterned rose on it. Her blonde hair was braided making her look very young the first thing that crossed

There are a lot of problems on our hands now and I don't want to add grudges to it. I knocked on the door of Jack's house. I know Jack would be in the training ground but I was hoping Jerry would be at home. I smelled him in the house immediately after I got here, so I knew he was deliberately not answering and that is why I continued knocking persistently. ClickHe unlocked the door but didn't open it. after I realized he wasn't going to open it, I turned the knob, opened the door and walked in."What are you doing here?" He asked me. I turned to see him behind me closing the door. " I wanted to come see how you were doing" I bit my lower lips in nervousness. His eyes flickered at the motion before he went back to drinking a glass of scotch. Chugging down the whole thing. He took the bottle and was about to drink from it when I snatched it from his hands." I am fine" he slurred. Am I supposed to believe that when he is drinking this much and there is a visible bag under his eyes?

I don't know what he was about to tell her, but I knew it wasn't going to be good. So as I watched her walk elegantly back to her bed and crossed her leg, my smirk grew wider than before. The place was wide and spacious, there was an open kitchen by the side and two other doors which I assume were the bathroom and closet. The whole walls were painted white and there was no window. " Can I get you something?" She asked. Evan shook his head. I knew she wasn't asking me so I didn't bother to answer. I could feel her glaring at me but instead of exchanging glares, I looked at the room. It was simple and elegant. There was a vase sitting at the side of the room, filled with colourful plastic flowers that were in contrast to the white wall adding to the beauty of the room. There was a beautiful painting on the wall, near the bed. It was a painting of a beautiful woman holding a demon baby in her hands. The baby had furs sprouting out of the skin on his chest hands and face, and its eyes w

Adam came into view with anger contouring his face. He looked at us and everything we had prepared down. He looked back at Jerry and before I could open my mouth to say anything, he grabbed him by the neck. " What the hell are you doing with my mate." He snarled at him. I stood shocked as Jerry started to say something to calm him down but he wasn't having it. Wasn't I the one he was supposed to be angry at? I should be the one he was supposed to strangle, and whip until I was screaming out my apologies. " I said what the hell were you fucking doing with my mate," he asked again. But Jerry couldn't bring out sound as he struggled to take in breath. When I saw how white he was turning I figured out I had to do something or else he was going to kill him." Adam, it is not what it looks like, trust me," I said. I struggled to remove his hand from Jerry's neck. He released his neck and Jerry fell to the ground inhaling hair greedily. His face was white and his neck was red. I dropped my

'Evan, open up' I mindlinked him.I placed Adam's arm around my shoulder and my hand around his waist to help him support his weight even if he assured me he was fine. To other people, it would look like I was the one getting support seeing as he is huge. When the door opened, I could see the warriors all watching us in shock and some in relief as we passed. Evan rushed to the other side of Adam. He was only a few inches shorter than Adam, so it was easier for him than it was for me. 'Are you hurt?' Evan's concerned voice rang in my head.'No' I answered. Adam removed his hands from mine, as Evan put his other hand around his shoulder. The shirt I wore was bloody, but there was nothing I could do about it until I got home. We all walked together back home. The whole place was still quiet and everyone was locked in their house. I felt guilty, even if I knew it wasn't a bad thing to ask questions. When we got home, we both walked him to his room. Evan left after he had assisted him to

"Ok, I will tell you."Bracing myself for whatever he was going to say. I could hear a dramatic music playing in my head."When my father died, Beta Enoch took over the post because I was in a dungeon". He confessed. His eyes stared at my hands that I held together on my lap. Dungeon, why would they put him in a dungeon? What did he do?" What did you do?" I said quietly, uncertain if I wanted to know about it. " I killed my father" I stood up in shock looking at him with wide eyes. My eyes almost fell out of its socket and my jaw was wide open. I wasn't expecting that at all. How? Why?I kept moving backward slowly till my back hit the door. He didn't stop me as I opened the door and ran out, he just watched me. People watched as I ran out of the pack, my brain reeling with many questions. And it was when I ran to the spot where Jerry took me for the first time after a run, that I regretted leaving. My questions weren't going to answer themselves. What could his father have done to
