Becca's POV

A few days had passed since Aria had defeated Darius. At first, I thought he was dead, but I eventually discovered that Aria had put him in a tormenting spell where he felt tremendous pain every second.

I worried about Bas, living in constant fear that Aria might come for him next. But I guess I was lucky she just left him locked up; she was more concerned about dominating the werewolves who had now gone into hiding after hearing about the fall of their Alpha.

I knew the answer to finding Bas was to find the woman who was at Aria's secret lair. She could tell me why those bodies were there and what Aria was actually after.

"I spoke with Aria. Now that she has Darius and Bas locked up, she's working on a spell to break the curse," Noami said, breaking my thoughts. Her eyes gleamed with excitement.

"Wow, that's great," I said, trying to sound as enthusiastic as I could. "But I'm worried. How is she going to break the Oak tree if she destroyed it?"
