“Come on, Sir Kalix!” I didn’t let him finish what he was saying, as if something crushed my heart when I saw the unusual sadness in his eyes.

“Where? I thought we were going to wait?” he said, looking confused.

“Yes, but look, it’s already five thirty. I overheard one of the students at the barbecue stand saying there will be fireworks at nine. We should ride everything before nine!”

“What?! Are you crazy?! All of it? Do you even know how many rides there are?”
