Reconnection
Normally, after a long day at school, I am in such a hurry to get home that I can hardly wait for seventh period to be over so that I can finally get a mental break, but this time, I didn’t even want to leave school. It wasn’t that I was having a grand ol’ time in my classes, especially when Brice didn’t show up all day, and Melanie and I were not speaking, but I knew, as soon as I got home, it was definitely not going to be a relaxing evening.
Maje Jaye was waiting for me at the door again. She reminded me a lot of a puppy who had been left home alone all day and just needed some human attention. I had to go to bed. I had no choice.
