Chapter 12

"I've been looking everywhere for you," the man says, crouching to be level with me. "It's nice to finally see you again, you little bitch."

I try to get up from the ground but my shaking legs won't let me. Fia is shifting her gaze from me to him, looking confused, but she can't react because the men are keeping her at bay. Our eyes meet and we come to a general consensus: run.

A burst of energy courses through my body. Somehow I manage to pull myself up and get into a steady sprint immediately. I look behind me and notice that Fia is running in the opposite direction, and the three men are following her.

Meanwhile, my old client is still after me, glaring at me like some sort of a predator.

Fuck. I can't believe that this asshole found me. And I can't believe I got my one-day-old friend into trouble because of this.
