Maeve POVArio helped me down the car as I held my stomach. I slept off in the car, listening to his heartbeat. Today is the best day of my life since that awful night. My pack was alive, and Ario told me he loved me. I wanted to jump and scream in happiness. I have been smiling nonstop, and I am trying to control it, but I can’t. It all seemed like a dream, a dream I didn’t want to wake up from.“Wow,” I said, looking up. This is the biggest pack house I can ever lay my eyes on. Words can’t describe how big it is; the building was tall and incredibly wide. I could see the big gate from where we stood, with high walls going around it.“You outdid yourself,” I said, looking at Ario. He smiled, looking back.“Is everyone ready?” he asked the warriors.“Yes, alpha,” he replied.“Okay, let’s go,” he said, taking my hand, and we walked down the road. I looked back, and I saw my pack dressed. I looked at Ario.“You must have spent a lot on those new clothes, and they will need more clothing,
Maeve POV It was around 11 p.m, and everyone was fully settled. There was not much furniture, but Ario already mind link the guards to get bedsheets, thick mattresses, pillows, and clothes for everyone. He didn’t even know if we had any money on us, but he decided to spend so much on my pack. I feel so happy he was that considerate. He even got the omegas to get them different varieties of foods, and they came in large quantities. Now everyone has retired to their rooms, and the once loud pack house is quiet. “I can’t imagine how loud this place would be after everyone fully moves in,” Brandon said as we climbed the stairs, following Ario. We have all freshened up, and Ario is taking us to the study. “Why are we taking stairs when there is an elevator?” Duncan asked. “The study is on the next floor; there is no need to,” Ario said, and Duncan shrugged his shoulders. We got to the floor, and there was an enormous door. The door looks impenetrable. “Why so thick?” I asked, curious.
Unknown POV“Shit!” Jasper yelled as the laptop shut down. The room was silent as they watched him boil with anger.“That little bitch!” he yelled, beating the table in anger. It was midnight, and they were about to extort from Ario. This was supposed to be the last time because they wanted to take all the money. They knew since Maeve was there, they would know what a talented hacker she was; they didn’t know it would be this early.“Which account was it transferred to?” he asked, sweat filling his head.“It is an anonymous account, and there are no other systems connected to theirs because we couldn’t track it,” the hacker said, turning to look at the fuming Jasper. He had warned him to take all the money before they found a better hacker, but he wanted to play mind games with Ario, he is not at all surprised this happened should have just taken everything the first time now they are left with nothing but an empty bank account.“She took all my money! Now we have no money! No funds to
Maeve POVIt’s been two weeks since the pack came, and we are finally settled. It has been a very busy week, and I hardly see Ario. He comes back when I am asleep and goes before I wake up. He has been busy settling everyone in and buying furniture and other things everyone would need. My pack has been isolated from his; the only people I have seen who are from his pack are Maya and some warriors.I wonder why he doesn’t want his pack to come here. I don’t even know if they know they are here, but obviously they have to know. The door opened, and a stressed-looking Ario came inside, removing his jacket, and then he slumped on the bed with his stomach on the bed. I smiled, dropping the book. I went to him, sitting on his lower back. He groaned, his back cracking.“It’s been a long week, huh?” I said, giving him a neck massage. He breathed out without saying anything.“So, I have been searching for pup names, and I came up with a few,” I said. He hummed.“For girl, I came up with Janice,
Maeve POVI removed the dagger, stabbing him again, and it filled the whole place with blood.“What is going on here?” Ario asked, coming close, but before he got close, the imposter slapped me hard, pushing me off the bed, and I was going to land directly on my stomach, but thank goodness for Ario’s fast reflexes; he held me just right in time.“Are you okay?” he asked, looking at my face before holding my stomach.“I’m fine,” I said, turning back, and to our shock, the imposter was gone. The only evidence he was ever here was the blood-stained white bedspread. I stood up from the floor, holding my stomach as I sat on the bed. I can’t believe this just happened.“What happened, Eve?” Ario asked, standing in front of me. I breathe out.“I was reading a book Maya gave me about pups and names, and then I must have slept off. Then I dreamt you came; you told me you were merging the pack and wanted me to be your luna. I agreed, and you marked me. Then you changed to a completely different
Maeve POVI stand at the back of the pack. It was an icy night as my pack members all stood behind me. Everyone was holding a candle except me and Ario. The whole place was dark, with the candlelight illuminating it. A soft song played, and I walked down the aisle as the pack members turned to us. They sang a soft, beautiful rhythm. The moment was peaceful, and I felt happy as I looked at Ario. He smiled at me proudly; he couldn’t see my face, but I hoped he could feel my emotion. My love, joy, and respect. I hope he can feel them. I smiled, getting to him, and it was quiet. It was a full moon, and it gave the whole place an extra glow. Ario took my hand, climbing up the little stairs.“Kneel,” he said. I nod my head, kneeling. Then the ceremony started. Ario said a lot of things, his voice echoing, and I paid attention. When he was talking, he brought a big golden bowl with a knife. He gave me a very sharp knife, and I cut into my palm, bleeding out inside the bowl. I watched as he we
Maeve POVI breathed out heavily, covered in sweat, as I watched my pup cry out loudly. It was the middle of the night, and the past few weeks have been peaceful. A week after I became Luna, they put me on bed rest as my stomach got bigger and I was physically weak to do anything, so it had to stay on bed rest. Earlier in the morning, my water broke when I went to pee, but I had no idea. I thought I had too much to drink because I had been drinking a lot of liquid. We were sleeping, and I suddenly felt that pain, and it has all happened so fast. Ario gave a room to Brandon temporarily in our quarters, so he helped me to the pack hospital. Ario and Pa were panicking while I was trying not to lash out at them. But finally, I smiled happily with tears in my eyes as Brandon carried my pup in his arms. I couldn’t see his face, but he had a head full of black hair.“What is the gender?” I asked. Brandon smiled.“Boy,” he said.“Yes!” I heard Ario yelling from the back of the door. Yes, I cha
Maeve POVI walk down the packed ground with Otto wrapped tight around my back. It has been three weeks, and things have been peaceful, too peaceful, and it makes my skin crawl. Otto is growing well into a quiet and observant pup. He doesn’t cry unless he is hungry or wants a diaper change. He would look at you and never stop looking, waiting for you to look away first. I never see him laugh, but he smiles when Brandon does something funny. He is looking a lot like a younger version of Ario, no features of mine on his face or body, which is weird, but the genes must be crazy.Ario has been the best father he can be; he always bathes him, dresses him up, and sometimes he dresses him up in matching clothes. He is happy, and he is not worried about anything like I have been. Otto has been his missing piece, and he is not only a good father but a mate. I guess I still feared deep down he was doing it for the pup, but he has been more affectionate than before; sometimes he would watch me sl
