"Who are you?
Are you my Daddy?"Another day, another sunshine! Boring sunshine, that is.
It's been days since I've hung out with Adon and Hop and Neil. Almost a week, really. I'm starting to miss them so!
I haven't been able to talk to them since I don't have a phone. I just go to the park and stay there, hoping that they'd go there. It's been five days, and still, they didn't come.
It was fine, though. Maybe they were busy guarding someone. Or something. Like a mall or a restaurant or something.
I yawned, today was so boring. It was three in the afternoon and we just had lunch. I wanted to go out to the park again, but I was too lazy.
But what if Adon and Hop comes to the park? What if they want to play?
I sighed. Should I go? Should I stay and just sleep? What should I do?
I sighed again. I was so, so bored.
For the third time, I sighed. I stood up and went to my closet box to pick out a dress. I didn't have that many clothes, so my choices are limited. But it's fine.
I picked out a blue summer dress and decided to go with white sneakers and socks. It was sunny today, so a dress is just perfect!
I giggled and went to the bathroom, I was going to shower quick, and then I'm going to the park! Maybe they're there and decided to play with me!
Maybe they missed me, too.
I giggled while showering, I was so excited! Maybe we could play tag or hide n' seek or just play in the swings! Maybe we could even go and eat.
I quickly finished and went straight downstairs, waving goodbye to the Sisters and the other kids.
"Sister Mary Eunice!" I called out, wondering where she was. I had to go and ask her permission before going out. That was one of her rules. She wanted me to let her know whenever I leave so she doesn't worry. "Sister! Where are you?"
I went to the kitchen and she still wasn't there. Huh?
"What is it, Madie?" a voice called out behind me, and I turned to see Sister who was holding baby Jacob.
"Imma go out!" I smiled at her and went straight outside. I was going to be late!
"Wait-!" Sister said running after me "Madie! Madie!"
I ignored her and ran away. I ran because what if she stopped me? I can't not go. I should wait at the park just in case Adon and Hop comes.
I reached the park in no time, and there were some kids playing by the sandbox. But there were no people on the swing, so it's fine.
I smiled at the little kids playing and proceeded to the swing, sitting at the blue colored one. It matches my dress perfectly.
I smiled and giggled while swaying, the kids by the sandbox were also giggling and waving at me. I didn't have anyone to play with but it's okay, it's still so fun!
Moments later, clouds started to form in the sky. The blue sky earlier was turning grey and dark. should I go now? But it's still early. What if Adon comes and fetch me so we can play? I was getting hungry too.
I wanted to play and eat.
A frown started to form on my face when I heard the thunder. I wasn't scared of thunder and lighting. I was a brave girl. I wasn't scared of the rain either.
Waiting for about fifteen minutes more, I sighed when both of them didn't come. Didn't they miss me?
Five days had passed since I went to their big house. They said they wanted to be my friends but why were they not coming?
Do they not like me anymore?
Did I eat too many the last time? Should I have left some more food on the table so they could eat it?
But Adon said I could eat how much I want.
I frowned and tears started to gather in my eyes. The one chance that I had to have friends, and I blew it.
What if no one wants to be my friend?
"Madie?"
My eyes widened when I heard the voice, and even when my eyes are blurry from my tears, I recognized the voice immediately.
"Hop!" I turned and saw Hop by the road, he was standing by his black car and looked like he just went out of it. "Hop!"
I ran towards him and crushed him in a tight, tight hug! I missed him so.
"Hop!" I squealed, he was so warm and big and warm! "You're here!"
He laughed and hugged me back, his arms surrounding my waist. "Yes, angel. I'm here."
I squealed loudly, so excited that he was finally here. Maybe now we can play and eat. But wait...
I looked over at him and squinted my eyes, glaring. "Where were you? And where's Adon?"
His eyes widened and laughed nervously at me. Why was he so awkward?
"That's-that's uhm..." he started, still nervously looking at me "We were busy, angel. There was too much work, so we didn't have time to pick you up and play."
Oh.
"Okay! That's okay! We can play now!"
He nodded, smiling softly at me. "We can. But not here angel, it looks like it's about to rain. Wanna come over and play games at home?"
Yes! Maybe we can eat cake again too!
"Yes yes!" I hopped and hopped around him, hopping towards the car door so I could open it. "I wanna! Can we eat cake after?"
Laughing, he said "Of course, but after dinner, angel. Don't want you getting sick."
"Okay, okay!"
#
It was six in the evening when we stopped playing for a bit. Hop was my only companion because he said Adon was busy working. So boring.
We played tag and hide n' seek and video games until six, when the lady cooking in the kitchen went to the game room and said that the food was ready in an hour.
Hop said we should rest before we eat, so here we are.
Watching Tangled in the biiggg TV in their living room. It was like I could fit in the TV if I wanted to. It was just so huge! Like a closet for my clothes!
I smiled when I saw the boat scene in the TV. Tangled was my favorite movie ever. They're so sweet and cute. I'm like Rapunzel, too! I have whitish brownish hair too. What do you call it?
Oh yeah! Blonde!
But I didn't like it much. One girl from the orphanage before said that blondes are dumb. But Madie isn't dumb. I'm smart! Like an explorer!
I wanted to have what Rapunzel and Eugene has. I wanted someone to save me, too. And then if I'm strong enough, I can save him too!
He can be my Daddy and I can be his baby princess. And then we'd save each other if we needed rescue and help. We can be like knights in shining armor and damsel in distress.
I'd be the damsel in distress most of the time though, since I'm the lady.
My thoughts were interrupted when Hop called out from the kitchen and said that the food was ready.
"Hmmkay!" I yelled back and ran to the washroom so I could wash my hands. I didn't want the dirty germs to get into my food. That's gross.
Quickly, I ran back to the kitchen and sat in front of Hop. I was wondering where the lady was. Wasn't she going to eat with us?
"Eat now, Madie." Hop said while putting food in my plate "You can have cake after."
"Uh huh!"
I finished my food fast because I wanted to finish the movie. But something was weird with Hop. He was looking back at the front door often and he was so move-y! Like a worm. With salt.
"Are you okay, Hop?" I asked, wanting to make sure that he was alright. What if he was sick?
His wide eyes turned to me and was like he didn't hear me. I giggled; he was so weird.
"Are you okay?" I asked again. Did I need to repeat it for a third time? He was making me tired!
"Yeah, yeah of course, angel."
But he was still so nervous and weird. What is happening?
"Hey, Madie?" he called me when I was back to watching Tangled. We finished eating a while ago, and he insisted that he wash the dishes. I was seated at the sofa again.
"Yeah?"
He got near the sofa where I was seated and smiled at me "Adon is coming home."
I gasped and turned to him. I felt like my neck was about to break!
"Really?! We can eat cake with him?!"
I jumped in my seat, excited to see Adon again. It was so long since I've seen him. Like, five days ago!
"Yeah, angel." he cleared his throat before continuing "but the thing is-"
He was about to say something else but was cut off by car doors shutting. Someone was here. Adon!
My eyes widened and before Hop could even say anything else, I quickly ran to the door and opened it. But it wasn't Adon who was at the other side.
"Who are you, mister?"
"One look at you and I knew that I could give you all the stars in the sky, baby.""Hey, D."Neil, one of my men, was standing by the door as I signed my papers away. My clients wanted huge amount of products, while some of them needed my help. I needed to prepare for shipment before the end of the week, the deadline is near and since I just caught one rat in my midst, everything was a fucking disaster. It was a fucking busy week."Que?" [What?] I asked. He wouldn't interrupt my work in my office for nothing. I shifted my eyes to him, the rim of my glasses blocking his view a bit."The girl..." he started "Madie"Ahh. The witness to Adon's stupidity. Who knew it would be a girl? The moment Adon said that the peeper was a little girl, I was expecting it to be a literal child. But after calming down and asking the details, it wasn't a child after all.It was alittle.
"Pushing someone away and distancing yourself gives you a reason to love harder.""Salir."[Get out]I snarled at the bitch who was still laying in the bed. I finished fucking her and it seems like she thought she was someone special. The room I was in was at one of my bars in the city, I can still hear the loud music from the first and second floor. All the VIP rooms were in the third floor."But baby..." she purred out, sounding like a fucking dead cat. "We're not finished yet."I turned to look at her and glared, her blonde hair irritating me more than it should. "Maybe you didn't hear me right."I stepped closer and when I was inches away, I grabbed her jaws by with my hand and squeezed. She turned red right away, her eyes tearing up. Great.A bitchanda crybaby."Get. The. Fuck. Out.Puta."[Bitch]Her teary
"Daddy is all you need, baby. Nothing and no one else. Just me. Just Daddy.""Madie. What are you doing here?"She didn't answer for a while. Her body was turned to me, and her hands were together. Her feet were also shifting here weight from left to right. She was nervous. Around me.It took everything in me not to coo at her. She was adorable."Uhm..." she mumbled, her voice stuttering a bit "Ellie."I couldn't hear her, maybe because she was a bit far. And she was mumbling her words. Her head moved and she looked at the floor, getting all shy.I smiled gently at her, even though she wasn't looking at me. "I didn't catch that, sweetheart. What was that?"She shifted her feet again, before moving her head back and looking at me. She was blushing now.Adorable."Ellie." mumbling once again."No mumbling, baby. I can't hear you." There was no reprimanding in my voice. I
"But Daddy, I don't understand. Why can't I be with you? I promise I'll be a good girl. Please. I want to be with you, Daddy.""Madie?" It was Sister Mary Eunice calling from outside.I was about to leave again for Adon and the others' house.I dressed up with a pretty pink summer romper with a white shirt inside. I feel good today, and I feel pretty.I had my bag on my shoulder and ready to go, but Sister Mary Eunice blocked the door and called me."Yes?" I asked, smiling at Sister Mary Eunice. I was in such a good mood today. I was excited and I'd get to play with Hop and Adon and Neil.Sister Mary Eunice's eyes shifted up and down, like she was looking right through me. But just at my clothes.Did she find me pretty?"Where are you going, Madie?" she asked curiously."To my friend’s house!" I answered her, jumping up and down. It's been many times that I'
"Daddy, do you pinky promise to take care of me, feed me, shower me with love always, and always give me nummies and stuffies now and forever?I pinky promise, baby."I woke up to a new day, another day of playing and eating with friends. I got so excited to go out today that I went straight to the bathroom instead of playing with Ellie a bit.My dream was so good. I dreamt of unicorns eating peanuts and elephants eating cotton candies. Maybe it was the opposite but still, it was a bit the same.I was about to brush my teeth in front of the mirror buy stopped when I saw what I was wearing. A pink and white outfit.I was confused a bit when I remembered what I was supposed to do this afternoon. I was supposed to go to my friend’s house and play and eat!But I slept instead! Stupid Madie. Why did I have to be such a sleepy head?! I wasted time sleeping instead
"I'll be here for you, baby. Always and forever.""What do you mean, force you out?" I snarled at Adon who called me just now to inform me that they were kicked out of Madie's home. "I told you to guard Madie, not pick a fight with her guardian!"I was driving from one of my bars to get home, hoping the three of them are on their way. But no, not at all."Hop and I didn't do anything, D." he objected, sounding frustrated too "She made Madie go up to her room and then, all of a sudden, she was pissed!"I just listened to what he has to say. The nuns at that orphanage can be a handful sometimes."Then, she started talking about how she knew we were bad people and we were going to hurt her! We couldn't even talk much, she just kept on blabbering on." he sighed. My guess would be his hand was rubbing the side of his head right now. "And then she kicked us out."I only sighed in reply. These two people
"To hold you in my arms is one of the best feelings in the world.""Good morning, sweetheart" I greeted the little girl who was slowly waking up in my bed. I had a breakfast tray in my hands, with toasts, bacon and eggs, pancakes too.I saw Madie's eyes slowly start to open and placed the tray aside. It looks like she was still in her little space, still all adorable and sleepy."Hi, baby..." I cooed, making sure that I wasn't scaring her, and I was gentle. She looked like she was still shook on what happened last night "Hi..."Her little morning eyes stared at me for a moment, rubbing her eyes with her hands, and then she tilted her cute little head. She was a real sweetheart."It's Daddy, baby" I said slowly, wanting to know if she remembered calling me that yesterday or not. I didn't want to surprise her by confusing her "It's Daddy..."I took it to myself to make sure that she won't need anothe
"You're my baby girl, sweetheart. And I'm your Daddy.""Hey, D." Neil said by my back, carrying two glasses of whiskey on his hands. "How is she?"I turned to him and thanked him for the drink, gulping it down straight and feeling the heat on my throat. I sighed at his question. It's been two days since Madie stayed with me. And I loved the attention from her, especially because she is in her little space. But I couldn't help but get worried. It's been two days and she wasn't coming out of her space. What happened at the orphanage the other day must have hit her hard? It worries me that I couldn't ask her questions and I wouldn't get answers.I also needed to talk to her about our relationship. I wasn't going to let her go now, but I wanted her permission first.I love spending time with Madie while she was in little space, but I didn't want to take advantage of her vulnerable state. I loved hearing her
"Baby, you're the reason I live and the reason that I die. You're the reason that I smile yet break down and cry. You're the reason that I keep going and the reason why I fall. Because without you in my life, I'm nothing at all."The screams and squeals of excitement flooded in Madeline's ears as she looked around. Everyone had someone with them. Some were having their lunch in some food stalls, and some were lining up in line for the rides. The screams were from the people who were riding the roller coaster, some on towers and some on fast-spinning carousels. She could also smell the fragrance of delicious food in the air, as well as the sweet smell of desserts that were given out to the kids, and adults too.On her right, she could see the swans on the water with people aboard. They were taking pictures with smiles on their faces, together with their kids and other family.Madie couldn't help bu
"If giving my everything is what it takes, I won't hesitate. Not even for a second. That's what it means to have something you'd give your life to save."Ivan's thoughts stopped, as if the words that came from his Father's mouth was far-fetched, almost unimaginable. He couldn't help but laugh. Really, when it comes to being an asshole, he couldn't deny that he got that from his father.Looking down on the child that was in front of him, he couldn't help but wonder how undeniably pretty she was. Fair skin, blonde hair, green eyes."What's her name?" he asked, eyes staring deeply at the trembling child standing in front of him. He meant the question for his father who was smoking a cigar just by his leather couch, but the little thing answered him instead."M-Madeline, S-Sir." the eight-year-old answered, avoiding his eyes as much as she could. She answered her ques
"I'd rather drain every vein in my body than to watch you cry painful tears. I'd spare you tears for the rest of your life if I could. I'd take your pain and trauma away. I'd make you forget so you can be happy once more.""What's wrong?" Madie asked, head tilted to the side as she stared at Neil. Why was he standing by the door like that? What if someone was coming in and he was blocking the way?She was about to ask him again when she saw the foot by the door. Huh?Her confusion worsened as she stared, talking a few steps forward to see if someone left a mannequin by the women's comfort room. But of course not, this wasn't a department store. This was an airport, why would a mannequin be here?It felt like her heart stopped when she reached the middle part of the body that was lying down on the floor.Blood.
"If anything ever happened to you... I wouldn't know what to do. I'd be lost. My heart would be gone together with you."Dario stood staring as he watched the people in black come and go. It was a big ceremony, proper for a man who handled a big organization. It was his father's funeral."My condolences." one old man told him, shaking his hand as Dario stood by the door to welcome the people. More followed him, some strangers and some familiar. To be honest, he wanted to be anywhere than here.He sighed, eyes looking everywhere to find someone who can replace him. Anyone.'Right.' he thought. He was the heir. He was the one who'll take care of everything his father left. The next boss. The funeral passed and most of the people were gone before the sunset. One by one, they left with a nod to him. The only family member who was there for th
"A very small degree of betrayal is sufficient to cause the death of trust."Dario stormed into their house, nerves jumping as he realized that there was nobody anywhere. The moment he drove the car to the garage, he was already in fear as to why no one was outside.Where were the guards? Why weren't they at their posts? The worst started to come into his mind as he ran inside, screaming for Madie as he did so, his eyes furiously searching for him."Madie!" he screamed for her, opening the doors at the first floor of the safe house to find her. Nothing was missing, nothing was messed up and it didn't look like anyone barged it. Their luggage was still there untouched where it was before he left. "Baby!"The thought of Ivan getting to Madie and hurting her made him catch his breath. He couldn't take it.He made it to the second floor when he heard Adon's car in the driveway. They were
"Truth hurts. Doubt ruins. Lie destroys.""What is it?" Dario asked as soon as Eliana picked up the call."D..." she spoke, her voice coming in quiet yet clear via phone. "I-I know it's not the best time, and I know it's late but-""What's the matter, Eli?" he asked, looking back at his baby girl's sleeping form. He had to be quiet or else he'd wake her."Madeline... the first time I came to visit, the first time you introduced her, and I heard her name- it seemed familiar, like I heard it before."Dario's brows furrowed at her words. He didn't understand. How could Eliana know who Madeline was when she was seven?"And when Neil called me to tell me about the ambush at the port... it confirmed everything I was thinking of. He told me about Manuel."He remembered Neil telling him that they did in fact talk, Eliana and him.
"See, betrayal... you know that it will never come from your enemies.""You gonna go now?" Madie asked as she watched her Daddy leave some of his things by the passenger seat of his car, loading them and starting the car before walking over to her and cuddling."Yeah, baby. Daddy needs to go now." he answered as he left a small peck on her forehead. They were in each other's arms, with Dario's wrapped around her tiny waist and moving slightly side to side, causing them to sway. They were in their own magical world."And-and we'll go to ride the airplane later?" she asked again, still looking up to him. Her Daddy was tall, and she had to crane her neck very much to see him properly. She forgot to ask if they had giant gene in their family.Dario chuckled before nodding at her question. "Yeah, baby. And then we'll go to Hawaii, and then we'll have a house near the beach, and then we can swim and pla
"I swear I couldn't love you more than I do right now, and yet I know I will tomorrow.""Shh..." Dario whispered into Madie's ears as his hands did its work. "I got you, baby. Daddy's got you."His kisses deepened on her lips, more breath taking than ever. They were long gone the cool air outside, the warmth of their room enveloping them as their bodies stayed together.Carrying her in his arms was easy and light, as it ever was. Their lips and bodies stayed interlocked as he walked them both inside and to their room, easily avoiding the guards in their post just by the hallway. They knew not to look, but if they did, they he'd have to gauge their eyes out.Minutes in their room and Dario had his shirt off, whispering sweet words to Madeline as he took hers off her body. Slowly, sweetly, gently. Each inch of clothing he took off her body, he replaced with a gentle kiss. His lips touched her body
"I love you more than I have ever found a way to say to you.""Are you going to be okay?" Eliana asked Dario who was seated beside her.He had his laptop by him, working. His baby girl was running around being chased by Chase, Eliana's pet hound that she brought with her when she came. Madie had both Ellie and a ball in her hands, tossing the ball playing fetch with the giddy hound.Dario was glad that the hound brought happiness to her.Trees surrounded the safe house; the only water source was the fountain where the Finnish Hound was drinking from. It was cozy, and the weather was warm. They were far from the city, far from danger. The fresh breeze and the shade from the trees made it cool even with the sun's heat. The sunshine was defeated by the rays of smile that Madie gave them whenever she would wave over.It wasn't easy maintaining the good ambiance of the place. Madie repeatedly a
