Martina sat behind an empty table and made a wave to one of the waiters. She waited for the waiter to get to her when she saw Roberto strut up to the desk she sat. She smiled widely as she approached her, but he kept a straight face. “Why are you smiling? Nothing is funny.” He uttered as he sat on the chair next to her. “You are so hot. I am just noticing it. Damn...” She raised her brows teasingly as she spoke. Roberto arched his brows as she spoke. She chuckled and looked at the waiter when he got to them. “I would love to see your menu, please.” She told with a grin. “There is no time to waste, Martina,” Roberto added. “Husby, come on, it won't take more than a minute.” She responded with a wink, and Roberto raised his brows in surprise. He scoffed and looked at the waiter. He noticed the waiter was smiling at him, and he spoke up, “Why are you smiling?”“I’m sorry, sir. But you two look good together. Your kids are lucky.” He uttered, passing Martina the Menu in his hand. “Yo
IN MEXICORoberto’s cars pulled up in Mr. Santiago Rossi, his friend’s elegant villa. The house was fully decorated with beautiful bulbs and balloons, making the house so luminous in the dark of the evening. There were many people around the villa, dressed elegantly for the event. There were also lots of people from the media present. They were taking pictures of those that walked on the red carpet in front of the house. Bruno parked the car at the back of the numerous cars in the compound, and he rushed to Roberto’s door and opened it with his head bowed. Roberto climbed down his car with great elegance. His tuxedo glittered under the lightning, and his shoes were the center of attraction. Martina, on the other side of the car, was about to reach for the door when someone opened the door from outside. She looked outside and saw Vincenzo at the door. He offered her a hand, and she smiled widely. She gave him her hand and climbed out of the car. “I wasn't expecting you to help me
Roberto was led into a large room and saw Mr. Elio sitting behind a huge desk. He was whispering something into a man’s ear. About seven armed men were standing at alert in the room. Roberto saw the guns they had clearly. “Father, Mr. Roberto Galante is here,” Diego called the attention of his father, and Elio looked at Roberto immediately. “Roberto Galante!” He smiled widely and stood up from his chair. Roberto walked up to him and stretched his hand forth, smiling widely too. “It’s so good to see you, Mr. Elio. Happy Birthday, Sir.” Roberto congratulated him as they shook hands and embraced each other. “It’s so good to see another Galante after so many years,” Elio said, pointing to the chair that was next to him. “I bet Giovanni is happy wherever he is that I'm present here today,” Roberto responded, and Elio giggled. “He was my very good friend. We ruled this business world together. It's still very painful he is no more.” Elio responded. Roberto sighed and bounced his head.
Roberto finished signing a contract with the English men, and they shook hands. “Thank you,” Roberto uttered, and they responded with a slight bow. Roberto sat on the chair again and adjusted his Tuxedo. They all watched the English men walk out of the room. After they were gone, Elio looked at Roberto with a large grin. “Congratulations, Mr. Galante.” Roberto looked at him and gave him a nod. “I should thank you instead.” He responded and stood up from the chair. “I’ll love to go now, Mr. Elio. I have unfinished business out there.” He added as he remembered Martina. He wanted to know what she was doing and who she was with at that time. “Sure. You have completed the primary reason why you are here. Enjoy the party,” Elio responded. Roberto gave a slight bow and turned to look at Vincenzo, who stood some meters behind him. “Let’s go.” He said to him. Vincenzo led the way and proceeded to the door. He opened the door for Roberto and stepped aside. Roberto stepped out, and Vincenzo
Martina and Roberto sat in the car, her head was on Roberto’s shoulder, and his arms were around her. “Hm… Hm…” She groaned when the car bumped into potholes and bumps. She would run her hand on her neck in discomfort and grab him tighter. His smile was a sealed envelope as he kept his eyes on her face. She squeezed her face and furrowed her brows as she kept her eyes closed. “Who told her drinking is a good idea?” Roberto looked at Bruno, who drove the car. “No one, Mr. Roberto. She decided to take a few shots, and I couldn't stop her afterward,” He responded, and Roberto took another look at her. Her facial expressions were very cute to him, and the way she grabbed him, was the cutest of all. She held unto him as she trusted and adored him, somehow, this made Roberto happy. As they kept moving, he felt her skin harden under his palm, and he looked at her to see she had goosebumps all over her. He carefully moved her away from him and made her rest her back on the chair so that he
Martina woke up and saw Roberto laying next to her. His face was next to hers and his eyes were closed. He looked pretty and peaceful as he slept. Martina smiled widely as she watched him sleep. “Why are you staring?” Roberto rolled his eyeballs under his eyelid as he spoke. He opened his eyes and stared right into Martina’s eyes. “You look so peaceful when you sleep. If only you are that peaceful when you are awake,” She answered and sat up. She held her head and closed her eyes tightly as she felt great pain in her head. She opened her eyes and sensed the room spinning. Roberto sat up and looked at her closely. “You should lay back. You have an hangover.” He held her hand, and she looked at him. “I need water, my throat is itchy.” She rubbed her neck as she spoke. “I’ll get you water, but lay down first. If you get out of bed, you could fall.” Roberto got out of bed and walked out of the room to get her water. Martina’s eyes were fixed on him as he walked out of the room, and
Caterina sat in Alberto’s office and passed her phone to him. “She is enjoying herself with him, we don’t have to look for her anymore. I thought she cared about me, but I was mistaken. She doesn’t want to come back home,” She said as Alberto watched the video that played on her phone. It was the video from the party at Mexico, where Roberto pecked Martina in front of everyone, on the red carpet. Alberto’s lips parted in disbelief as he watched it. He was surprised to see that she was comfortable letting him do that to her. “She is putting herself in danger, Caterina. The police would be after her too. She needs to be warned,” He said, and she shook her head. “You don’t have to warn her, Alberto. Martina isn’t stupid. She knows exactly what she is doing. Maybe this is a way to tell us not to worry about her anymore. She looks happy, and to me little understanding, Roberto has never had a woman escort him to a party, right?” Alberto shook his head, and she threw her hands in the air.
The kettle on the gas cooker whistled and Martina hurriedly carried it out of the fire. She turned off the gas cooker and poured the boiling water into two glass bowls. One for her and the other for Roberto. She threw the raw noodles into them and stained them carefully. Roberto stood at the door and watched her cook. “So this is how you make your noodles?” He asked, and Martina turned to look at him. She smiled widely and bounced her head. “Yes, I sieve the water and then mix with it the spices afterward. Then, I decorated it with steamed Vegetables,” She explained, and he raised his brows. “Sounds delicious,” He responded, making her giggle. “Trust me, you are not going to regret it,” She assured. He nodded and walked away from the kitchen door. Martina faced what she was cooking, and went on sieving the noodles. She heard someone enter the kitchen again, and she turned back to see it was Vincenzo. “Hey,” She said, smiling widely. “Hi,” His response was quite cold and this got h
After two weeks Adelina called Martina and told her to start packing her luggage. She told her Roberto, who was already out of prison, had asked her to tell her, and he was headed to her house. Martina wondered why Adelina had asked her to pack up, but she didn’t question her. She got to work immediately. As she was packing her bag, she heard the doorbell ring. She dropped the dress that was in his hand and rushed to get to the door. She opened the door and saw Roberto standing in front of the door. He wore a black suit, inner shirt, and pants. He has sunglasses on, and he smiled widely. Martina flung her hands around his neck, and he lifted her and rolled her in the air. “I missed you so much!” She giggled, and he let out a little laugh. “I missed you too.” He put her down and covered her lips with his. They broke the kiss shortly, and he kissed her nose, making her chuckle. “I believe my mother delivered my message.” He said, and Martina nodded. “Yes, she did. I’m packing already
The Next day Martina walked into her house after Caterina opened the door. She had left the police station to clean up before she returned. Adelina was busy trying to look for ways to get her son out of the custody of the police. Caterina had a huge frown on her face, and she wasn’t ready to talk to Martina. Not after what she had done. Martina looked around her living room and let out a loud sigh. “I missed this place so much,” She muttered, dropping the bag she carried on the couch. “Of course you did. That is why you stayed with him, like forever,” Caterina responded and sat on the couch. “C’mon, Caterina. Don’t give me that attitude. I’m back now, okay?” Martina approached her and sat next to her on the couch. “You are back because Alberto didn’t wait for your stupid plan! I see no reason why he wanted you out of Roberto’s custody at all cost after you showed him you didn’t want your freedom.” Caterina folded her hand and threw her head to the other side. “It isn’t what you thi
Martina and Roberto walked out of the ship and headed to the car. On the body of the car were holes made by the bullets that hit it. Roberto’s eyes widened when he remembered he had kept Adelina in the car and didn’t leave anyone to check up on her. As they approached, he stared into the car from the windscreen and didn’t see her at all. ‘Was she shot? Did they get to her too? Did she escape? How the f**k did I forget about her?’ Roberto reminisced. He pulled Martina with him as he hurried to the car. He headed for the back door and opened it. He saw Adelina laying on the seat, her eyes were closed, and she seemed to be asleep. “Adelina,” He called, and she slowly moved her head. “God, you are something else,” Roberto shook his head. He wondered how a person would be so comfortable, to the extent of sleeping, in such a situation. Adelina slowly opened her sleepy eyes and looked at Roberto. “What? I didn’t sleep well last night, okay? I was busy putting your money together.” She pout
Roberto overtook Vincenzo’s car and began to lead the way. He watched the infotainment in the car he drove and kept following behind the van. He didn’t get too close because he didn’t want them to notice him, nor was he too far so that he wouldn’t give them too much time to do something crazy to Martina. Roberto furrowed his brows when he saw them head to the nearest sea. “Where the f**k are they taking her? Why are they heading to the sea?” Roberto mumbled as he kept driving. “They are heading to the seaport boss. We need to attack as soon as possible or we would lose them,” Vincenzo said after connecting to the infotainment in Roberto’s car. “I’m very aware, okay? Once the vehicles stop, we rush them. We start attacking, we must make sure nothing happens to Martina.” Roberto informed Vincenzo before disconnecting the call. Soon the vehicle that kidnapped Martina stopped at the seaport. They hurried down the vehicle as they sighted the ship they were expecting approach them. One of
Adelina kept her hands in the air, instructing her men to stay low. “We can’t let him take you away!” One of her closest men said, keeping his gun up. “He is my son! You shoot him, you die!” She yelled in response, and he slowly lowered his gun. Roberto pulled her by the hand out of the compound and when they got outside, he found out that his Mercedes Benz was nowhere to be found. It was this car that Bruno drove. “Martina!” He called in fear and anger, but he got no response. “What did you do?!” He smacked, looking at Adelina. “I’m your mother, Roberto! I didn’t do anything to your Martina! And why did you leave her out here alone? You are in the Mafia, you can’t be careless.” “Oh please, shut up! She wasn’t here alone. My men were with her!” Roberto spat angrily. “Then they are not competent enough. It’s that simple,” Adelina responded. Roberto looked at her and clenched his jaw in rage. He looked at one of his men and called him closer by waving his head. “Get her into the car.
“You are not my mother! I don’t want to hear any more filthy words from that mouth of yours! Give me my money, and I’ll be on my way! I have better things to do!” Roberto yelled at Adelina, his hands were shaking, and he tried forcing back the tears that threatened to roll out of his eyes. “Roberto, if you want your money, I have your money ready. I just want you to know the truth before you leave.” She walked back to her desk and opened her drawer. Roberto kept his gun pointed to her, Incase she wanted to act funny. Adelina pulled out an album from the drawer and stretched it to Roberto. “After looking at this pictures, you will be able to decide if you still want to kill me or know the true story about your biological mother.” Roberto narrowed his gaze at her, and then at the album. He wasn’t sure what he wanted, but he sure didn’t want to let this opportunity go. He needed to know the whole truth. “Drop it on the table,” He waved his gun, pointing at the table. She bobbed and plac
“You are not going to talk to me? What do you want me to do, Vincenzo?” Martina asked after she stepped out of the car and approached Vincenzo. Vincenzo heaved a loud sigh and turned to look at her, while Bruno stared at them, looking very confused and lost. “Martina, I don’t want you to do anything apart from staying away from this house and sitting peacefully in the car. This is a dangerous place, and you shouldn’t be out here,” He said, and she rolled her eyes. “I am very aware this is a dangerous place, you don’t have to remind me, Vincenzo. I stepped out of the car because I believe we both need to talk,” She said, and Vincenzo looked at Bruno, he saw he was lost staring at the both of them. “Hey… I thought you said you wanted to pee. What are you still waiting for?” Vincenzo asked, widening his eyes as he looked at Bruno. “Oh… true! I almost forgot. I’ll pee now and come back as soon as possible,” Bruno responded and briskly walked away. Vincenzo exhaled and turned to look at M
As Roberto got into the compound. All the armed men that were in the compound, on the top floor of the house, corked their guns and pointed them at him. In front of him sat a woman, she looked like she was in her late fifties. She sat on a chair, she wore a long white garment, and she crossed her legs. She raised her hand, and they all lowered their guns. Roberto wasn’t shaken by the guns they pointed at him, all he thought was how a woman could steal that huge amount of money from his Father, and he wasn’t aware until now. He got to where she sat, and he saw she wore a bright smile. “Roberto Galante! Welcome.” She uttered, standing up. “I don’t think greeting me this way would save you from my hands. Let’s have a chat, shall we?” Roberto sounded angry and determined as he spoke. He wanted to know everything. Who she was, how she got access to his Father’s money, how she could stay hidden for years. “Sure. I’d love to have a chat with you too. Alone.” Greco looked at Adelina from be
As they drove down to Adelina Marchetti’s house, there was an awkward silence in the car. Roberto was thinking about how to deal with this woman that had stolen so much money from his father, while Martina couldn’t stop thinking about her chat with Vincenzo the previous night. “Boss, we are five minutes away from her house now,” Bruno uttered, looking at the back seat through the interior mirror. Roberto raised his head and looked at him, he gave a nod. “Okay. Tell the other to be on alert. She could be aware we are on our way already. We can’t be stupid,” He responded, and Bruno gave a nod. He proceeded to talk to the others, using the microphone attached to his shirt. Roberto looked at Martina and noticed she had been staring out of the window speechlessly for so many minutes. She had a sad face and was lost in thoughts. He moved his head to her leg and touched it slightly. She jolted out of her thoughts and turned her head to look at him. He let out a slight smile and said, “What i
