THE PLAN

The moon hung high in the sky, casting long shadows over Damien's territory as he stood in the center of the pack's war room. His beta and a few trusted warriors gathered around him, awaiting his orders. The news had come in less than an hour ago that the ones hunting his mate were closing in. This wasn’t a distant threat anymore; it was real, and it was on his doorstep.

The air in the room crackled with tension, but Damien's gaze was locked on the map spread out before him, his mind already moving through the next steps. His mate was in danger. Every instinct screamed at him to lock her away, to shield her from the world until the threat was gone, but that wasn’t an option. She wouldn’t accept that, and neither would he. They needed a real solution, one that would eliminate the danger, not just postpone it.

“We can move her to the safehouse,” his beta suggested, glancing up at the him. “It’s remote and hidden”

Damien shook his head, cutting him off. “No. They’ll track her there eve
