MURMURS

The murmurs started slowly at first, just hushed conversations behind closed doors, but as the days passed, the pack house buzzed with a low, steady hum of uncertainty. Wolves gathered in small clusters, exchanging glances and quiet words, the tension palpable. Amelia had sown the seeds of doubt, and now it was blossoming into something much more dangerous.

In the dining hall, a group of senior pack members sat around one of the long tables, their food mostly untouched as they whispered amongst themselves.

“I’m telling you, something isn’t right,” one of the elders said, his brows furrowed. “The Alpha’s mate, she’s not just some ordinary wolf. The stories I’ve been hearing… they’re unsettling.”

Another elder nodded, leaning in closer. “There’s been talk that she might not even be one of us. I’ve heard she has powers—something unnatural. And if that’s true, it could be a threat to the entire pack.”
