Emily's Point Of View

I stare outside the window as the cab speeds off to New Jersey. The sun casts its ever glow toward the glass, making me wince. A song from my favourite Band, Radiohead, pounds in my ears as I listen to it on my iPhone–Karma Police has been on a loop.

I can't help the smile on my face, excitement building up inside me. In a week, I'll be starting college, and not just any college– I made it into the prestigious halls of Princeton University, just like I had always dreamt of.

And what could be better than living college life with your big brother?

I know that some people might think it's weird and so terrible. How can I have freedom if we enrol at the same university? He's in his third year now, and I'm a freshman. So I'm sure I will get the freedom to experience new things and explore a normal world.

A normal life, living among humans would surely be nice.

Yes you heard that right, my name is Emily Stoneheart and my life is anything but normal. I am a werewolf.

And yes, my kind do exist, unlike what the majority of the oblivious world believes. The supernatural and everything written in those fairytales do exist–witches, vampires, goblins, demons and dragons– we are just so good at being non-existent.

My father, Leonardo Stoneheart is the Alpha of the Stonehaven pack, a small but prosperous pack in Michigan, and my older brother, Peter, is set to succeed him as next alpha.

My big brother Peter is the best, a bit overprotective but trust me, I can't complain. Truth is, he can be serious at times but I can have fun with him, and that's why I'm even more excited to be staying with him in college.

A smile forms on my lips as I remember his promise to me that he would show me everything about my new university, what things it can offer, his friends and the town. Everything I've missed.

"Trust me, Emily, I'm sure you will love it here in Princeton."

Those words he said to me on the phone ring back in my ear. I can't wait to see him again, but I refused him to pick me up from the airport because he still has classes this afternoon. I can just take a cab from New Jersey, which is what I'm doing right now.

I can imagine my brother, Peter, working his ass off to study. He never wants to disappoint our parents, just like me. He doesn't have to try that hard, though. Everybody knows that his glorious achievement in football got him accepted in college.

As for now, he's the football team quarterback. I remember back then in high school, Peter was the hottest and most popular guy in the eyes of many girls, and the most adored guy in our pack. He was a real hot topic, and his natural fame always got me unwanted attention, but not from the guys though. I guess most of the guys felt intimidated and discouraged because of my brother. Maybe that's why I never had a boyfriend, since no one dared to mess with Peter Stoneheart’s baby sister.

Oh my goddess. I forgot how girls swarm around him, just like every girl swarmed all around Leonardo DiCaprio in the 90s. It was that crazy!

If we live in the same house, will I disturb his privacy? I don't want to see girls making out with him when I'm around. But my parents won't allow me to have another option. They believe it would be much safer if I lived with Peter and he agrees too.

Gosh. Sometimes, I feel like he's more overprotective than Dad.

"We've reached the address, Miss." The driver's voice snaps me out of my train of thoughts, making me realize that I was so lost in my thoughts.

I look up at the big white-coloured two-story house and sigh in Contentment.

My heart leaps up at the sight of him opening the front door. While the driver opens the bunk to get my suitcases, I rush to Peter, and he pulls me into a tight hug.

"I missed you," I say.

"Miss you more, Emm." He pulls away and ruffles my blonde hair.

When I take a good look at him, I realize that he's more tanned than before. And still as handsome as ever.

Okay. I start to sound like a creepy sister. Well. I just miss him so much. Me and Peter shared so many facial similarities, like for example our blond hair and aquarium blue eyes.

"Come in," he invites me in.

I step into the house while he carries my suitcases. I gasp in amazement, his place looked so comfy and airy inside.

My eyes widen as I spot a black grand cello in the living room.

I snap my head around towards his tall frame, and he smirks. "I just bought it." He shrugs. "I know how much you love to play."

I gasp. "You're kidding me."

He laughs before walking off to put the suitcases in my room. But I'm still gawking at the surroundings of my room. I like how Peter organized all these bookshelves hanging on the wall. He really put a lot of thoughts into decorating my room to make me feel at home.

While I'm walking into the living room, I almost stumble upon the rug due to what I see.

Correction. Who?

It was a guy sleeping on the couch. But I can't see his face, since it's hidden by a book.

I can't help but be drawn to the sight before me. Like, I shouldn't be drawn to his arms.

They look muscular, but not too much.

Is he one of Peter's football team buddies?

He's lean and tall. His outfit is simple, though. Just a black shirt and jeans. But why does he look so good?

And his scent completely takes me away, it was the smell of the forest floor, damp earth and sandalwood, with a hint of something wild and untamed.

I feel heat crawling to my face.

Wait. Am I blushing? Because of a guy whose face I haven't even seen yet?

Blame my hormones. I'm an 18 year old she-wolf and my emotions are a lot heightened. And my wolf Esme can be really dramatic and nosy.

I lean closer to see more. The book. What was he reading?

‘The little prince’

My curiosity kicks in even more, getting the better of me and I touch the book slightly away from his face.

Right. I'm peeking. Just a little bit more won't hurt, will it?

‘Who is nosy now?’ I roll my eyes as Esme hums in my head.

Maybe I'm doing this guy a favour. What if he can't breathe in his sleep because of this damn book.

Damn book.

To my surprise, when I begin to move the book away from his face, the guy flinches before abruptly sitting up. I yelp, letting out a small scream as the book falls with a thud on the ground.

He grips my wrist, so tight that I wince. He probably thinks that I'm some kind of killer who wanted to murder him in his sleep.

Shit!

Why does his reflex have to be so good?

But that wasn't just it, his touch made my skin tingle –like a bunch of fireworks were lit in my mind.

Then my mind stops thinking as I stare into his piercing green eyes, which bore into my blue ones.

My heart freezes in place, and blood rushes to every vein in my body. I even think that my shaky legs wouldn't be able to hold me up anymore and that I would collapse if he didn't grip my wrist.

He was just so damn beautiful.

Emily's Point Of View I gulp. My throat feels dry. Can we just talk about how beautiful those emerald eyes are? I feel like I'm drowning in them. I'm petrified even though no one has cast me a 'Petrificus Totalus' spell. The guy who is gripping my wrist looks irritated because I just disturbed his sleep, but then his expression softens as he stares at me. "Emily?" he whispers, his voice low, sending shivers down my spine. Or maybe it's the fact that the handsome guy I've just met apparently knows my name and whispers it so softly that I could record it just to hear it again. "I see that you two met each other." My brother's voice makes me jump, and the grip on my wrist is instantly gone. Peter stands in the foyer, a smirk on his face, his hands in his pockets. I straighten up, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. The guy turns around, facing Peter. "Eren, meet Emily." He introduces me. "Emily, this is Eren, my best friend and Alpha of the Blackblood pack." My eyes widened.

I don't have any other words to describe, admitting that the place might be the most happening spot in town right now.Again, a group of girls peer at me from the corner of the room, catching my attention. I use my super hearing to hear one of them say.“Who is that bitch with Eren? She looks so out of his league.” A brunette laughs."Am I doing a sin or what? It feels so hot in here, with all those glares shot in my direction." I fan myself with my hand.Eren turns his head towards the girls, giving them a death stare that makes them abruptly look away. He faces me again with a smirk on his face."Don't worry. I'm not dating any of those humans,""I can't believe a guy like you can stay single," I blurt out, recalling Peter's conversation with a girl named Lesley a while ago, only to regret it later. It might sound like a cheap pick-up

  • MY FOOTBALL ALPHA    Unusual celebration

Emily's Point Of View It has only been two days after my first day at Princeton University, and here I am, stuck in the house, buried in assignments sprawled across the living room table. I do have much more free time--compared to back in the pack-- but there are a lot more modules I have to catch up to.Geez. I wish I could be more laid back and let go of this relentless perfectionism that clings to me like a second skin.I should be strolling around the town with Stephanie, perhaps, grabbing some pizzas or going shopping at the mall and having the normal girl experience.I glance at the clock, it's eleven pm.Where is Peter? He's not back yet, and I don't remember him telling me that he had a football practice today.A flicker of concern crosses my mind. Perhaps he’s off on a date—or worse, caught up in trouble. I blow out an exasperated sigh, resting my chin on the cool surface of the table. The silence of the house is suffocating, wrapping around me like a shroud. I was so bored

Emily's Point Of View As I weave my way toward the kitchen to make breakfast, a sudden urge pulls me back to check on Peter. The drama of last night lingers in my mind, and I can't shake the feeling that he’s in for a rough morning—a massive hangover of awaits him.The morning sun spills through the curtains, casting its ray upon his face. He's still sleeping. I climb on the bed and sit beside him, staring at him, crossing my arms on my chest. Then his eyelids flicker, and a few moments later, he opens his eyes.He abruptly sits up and backs off, his back smacking the headboard. "You're scaring me," he exclaims, his voice hoarse and thick.I must have looked like a ghost. A vengeful one. "Spill it." I command, narrowing my eyes as I fixate on him. "What?" he rasps, squinting his eyes before squeezing them shut. A curse escapes his lips, and I can almost hear the gears in his head grinding painfully as he grapples with the aftermath of the night before."Last night," I say. "What wa

The research topics were so ahead of our curriculum leaving the entire class disappointed. Emily's Point Of View We cruised to the party in Stephanie's pink Camry. The drive was a lively one because of Stephanie's ceaseless chattering; I just hoped she hadn't noticed the hostility between me and Willow by now. I still don't like her, despite her earlier help with my makeup. Trust was a fragile thing, and when it came to vampires, my instincts screamed doubt.Vampires couldn't be trusted. They were always selfish and put their insatiable desires first. I wasn't sure Stephanie could remain safe with Willow for long.It was only a matter of time before Willow would turn on her. After what feels like ages, we finally pull up to a huge two-story house. Thick vines clung to the walls, and a palpable energy radiated from the building. The place had a very strong aura.It must be steeped in powerful supernatural history.ALPHA XI DELTA is painted in black letters on the massive house. It looks like something from a movie."It's so big, how many people will be here tonight?" I gulp

Eren's Point Of View“Chase is furious about your attack on his pack, I even heard some rumors that he is plotting a retaliation.” Finn’s voice was a blend of caution and disbelief, yet I couldn’t help but let out a low chuckle. Fury was the least of Chase’s concerns; after all he’d done, he had no right to feel indignant. He should consider himself fortunate to still have a heartbeat in his chest.“If Chase wants to retaliate, then let him. It’ll give me the chance to finish him once and for all. This time, mercy won't be part of the equation.” My voice dripped with a cold resolve.“But did you really need to attack his territory like that?” Finn pressed, concern etching his brow.“I told you before, Finn. I needed to let out some rage. Besides, Chase and his little minions needed to be taught a lesson in humility.” My words were clipped.“But that may have put Emily in grave danger. What if he decides to target Emily to get back at you? This may put a big target on her back.” Finn's

Eren's Point Of View I wrap my arms around Emily's shoulders, cuddling her to sleep. She needed to rest; she had a really fucked up night. One that was all my fault. This pain she felt, it was all my fault and I will be damned if I allow it to happen again. I should have protected her better. It was my duty as her guardian entrusted by Peter. She was mine to shield and protect from this world and I almost let that vermin get his way with her. Thank the moon goddess that I came in just in time or else tonight would have ended up much worse. I was going to kill that bastard that dared to touch my person. Whoever he was, I was going to hunt him down and kill him. ‘She is asleep now, human!’ I heard Zane, my wolf, growl in my mind. He was eager to get some payback. To punch something, anything to release the rage we both felt. He wanted to spill some blood. My phone screen lit up, it was a text message from Finn. ‘I’m outside Stoneheart's place.’ the text read. The street lights flickered on, casting a warm glow as darkness enveloped us.“Did you notice how he kept looking at you after every touchdown? Oh my God! It was the perfect mix of cute and sexy.
