YSABELLE

I followed Ronan, who headed straight to Jacob's room. After carefully putting him on his bed, he locked the door, which surprised me.

Will he be all right alone inside?

“Is locking him in his room made any difference?”

“For only a few minutes until he calms down.” He then apologetically stared down my leg, the blood still dripping down. “Come on, let's treat that.”

He carried me in his arms and entered his room to his bathroom. After placing me on the toilet seat cover, he cleaned my wound in silence.

He kept sighing as if it was his fault, blaming himself for the injury. I know he had enough of Jacob's tantrums. So do I. But we can't hate Jacob. He needs special attention that we cannot provide.

“I'm sorry.” There is bitterness in his voice.

“It's not your fault that he accidentally threw the plates on me.”

“I'm sorry for not asking your opinion about Jacob.” I was taken aback at his words. He lifted his eyes on mine. “He's not mine but I'm still keeping him–”
