"What did you say?????" Sam can't believe her ears.
Francis just told her that what he was watching on his laptop inside the car is actually porn. It is surely disgusting to think that Sam is a girl but he has no other choice. He needs to stop her from suspecting that something has been bothering him.
If he appears bothered or lost, Sam will definitely notice him, like what happened when he got out of the car. So, the best way to distract himself from falling into a deeper distress and fear is to joke around.
"You heard me right, what I was actually watching on my laptop inside the car is porn."
A strong punch landed on the guy's arm. Sam just hit him.
"Make out with me." Jeremy stepped back and then he shot the VIP guest with a serious stare filled with disgust. "I came here because I am genuinely apologetic for not keeping that promise, which in the first place I never made. But you already crossed the line, insulting me immorally right in front of my face." Jeremy's words are strong enough to embarrass her or make her feel sorry for spitting offensive words. But she doesn't seem affected. Thick-faced, instead of apologizing, she gave Jeremy a wider smile, more insulting. "Come on. Stop acting innocent, Mr. CEO, as if you don't fantasize making out with a hot girl, like me. You're a man,
"What's wrong??" Francis is totally flustered. Hissing, Brian looked at him. "You're asking what's wrong?? Isn't it obvious that the battery of your laptop is already empty?" Francis faked a reaction. "Ah.. I see." Brian rose up from sitting on the floor and excused himself. He then entered Serin's studio to check something. Francis is left sitting on the floor. In the back of his mind, he can't just reason out that his laptop suddenly turned off because of its empty battery. He is completely sure that he charged his laptop this morning. Besides, when he reviewed the dash cam footage in the car earlier, its battery was still almost full.
Jeremy got the door for Serin. She smiled at him. “Thank you.” And then she got inside the car. As soon as he closed the door, Jeremy rushed to the other side of the car. Serin’s heart is beating too fast. And it began to race more wildly the moment Jeremy got inside the car. Sitting in the driver’s seat has never been this heart-trembling, Jeremy thought to himself. It is funny how this moment alone with Serin in his car is making him feel a lot more nervous than those times he had to give speeches in front of many people, either Crimson or SE Group business-related events and conferences.
No more wasted chances, no more painful regrets. After enduring all the tormenting pain from losing her and yearning for her, tonight is the perfect moment to turn his deepest feelings to words. Wasting this chance would make him the most stupid among the fools. "I will hold your hand while the autumn leaves are swaying. I will walk with you while the snow is falling. I will watch you smile while the flowers are blooming. I will feel your warmth while the sun is shining. I will embrace the beauty of fall, winter, spring and summer days with you. In any season, I will keep loving you." Jeremy just turned his unexpressed love to a fearless and heartfelt confession. And right after he boldly confessed to Serin, familiar scenarios began to flash in his mind. With tha
Chris' questions totally flustered him but he didn't let it show. "Carol must have told you." He said, concealing his shock and uneasiness in a calm voice. "So, who is he? How did he get to your office floor? Carol said she didn't receive any call from the front desk." "He just showed up there? At her station?" Ken asked, puzzled. "Yes. That's why Carol was suspecting him a lot." Chris responded. Silence fell on Jeremy. He doesn't know what to answer. But not responding to Chris would only cause suspicion. He cleared his throat. "I know him."
At that time, even though Serin had no idea who Heron was and what he looked like, her heart was convincing her that Jeremy was Heron. His eyes had the same yearning she was feeling at that moment. His presence had an overwhelming familiarity. As Jeremy gazed at her with consoling affection, her painful longing suddenly faded. How he was sharing intimacy with her was like a warm embrace filled with solace. She felt home. That was the first time she had ever felt that way since she crossed paths with him. After such a painful but beautiful moment with Jeremy, the unavoidable truth that he was Heron could no longer leave her mind. And that even became a lot clearer when Chris and Ken revealed to her that Jeremy had found a sketch of him in the pocket of her black dress.
"Those that tormented us before, let's bury them in forgetfulness. But there's one thing I would want to keep remembering. Our beautiful past. I may no longer remember who I am but I don't want our dear memories to fade in my heart. I still want to walk on that beautiful past with you. Can you take me there again?" Jeremy is totally speechless. What Serin just said is something he doesn’t want to hear, as of now. He is still clueless. He isn’t sure if helping Serin get her memory back is what he should be doing or what he must never do. One wrong move, her existence could possibly be in danger. What he needs to do is to see Sodon and talk to him again. He is certain that the old man is the only one who can help him deal with their unthinkable situation. “I am sure our past is not only filled with sad and painful stories. We would
"Why do you want to know who brought you here?" Ms. An asked, wanting to buy time while thinking of a convincing answer to his question. Even though Jeremy is completely sure that Sodon is the one who brought him to this orphanage, he still asked the old woman hoping to hear the answer directly from her. But as expected, she wouldn't tell him. She made a promise to Sodon that she would keep his identity hidden and she has been doing that for so many years now. "Because I thought of thanking that person. If I wasn't brought here, I wouldn't have become who I am now." There's sincerity in Jeremy's words and that makes Ms. An feel guilty. "But, Ms. An.." Jeremy intently looked at her. "I am sure eve
“Serin spoke in her sleep twice and during those moments, I vanished in the palace and appeared here in this present time. She must be wandering in her dreams, that’s what I am thinking right now.”Whirling emotions, Jeremy was having the same thoughts. Events that involved Serin’s dreams suddenly reappeared in his clear memory. On the night of his 18th birthday, he found Serin on Desf Road. He heard her call him Heron and when he was about to carry him, she longingly touched his face and painfully uttered, “Heron, you’re alive. I’m glad you’re alive.” Those were the same exact words that came out from her in her sleep before Sodon vanished in the past and was brought here in this present time.Jeremy could also remember the day he and Serin had a heated confrontation just because she went out of his condo unit without telling him. When they clashed for the first time, while her
When Jeremy began to notice that Dave had been treating him completely different from how he used to, he already knew why. Slowly getting closer to Serin, Dave had been falling for Serin. And with the fact that Jeremy was the one who found her on Desf Road and rescued her on that rainy night, Dave’s jealousy started to consume him. That was what Jeremy thought, but the painful truth was, Dave had silently hated him even before Serin came to his life.As his condition got horribly worse, Dave buried himself in a deeper state of misery. Since he fell terribly ill the day after his mom passed away, he had become miserably hopeless. He had been tortured and haunted by his own demons in his agitated mind. Criminal, that torturing word. The moment Dave uttered that word, his heart agonizingly broke. His confession, in an instant, took him to that gruesome and haunting night when he was nothing but a horrible monster.Year 2009, the night of his younger brother’s 14th birthday when he thought that his mom was busy in the kitchen preparing for the surprise birthday dinner for Jeremy. While he was in his room, suddenly the door opened.Dave’s body froze when he got caught using illegal drugs. With his mom’s widened eyes, both of them got completely shocked. His extreme nervousness made him throw the drugs in a rush, hands were quivering.Total gloom darkened Leona Sean’s face. Her steps towards her son got heavier. Her beautiful world fell apart.“W..Will you.. turn me in.. to the p..police.. this time?” Dave fearfully asked with his trembling voice and bloody red eyes.Leona
That phone call, in an instant, darkened his bright day. He was sure who was on the other line. That voice, he knew it.That was him, the old man whom he ran into Campbell Park across Tiffany Blue the night when odd occurrences terribly knocked him with shocking terror and absurd affliction. That was nine years ago but Jeremy could still remember him as clear as day. But that was not the first and last time their paths crossed.Five years ago, that old man suddenly showed up on Desf Road and gave him the black silk thread bracelet. And even until now, how that old man quickly disppeared before his sight on that endless and empty road still bothered him. When that old man called him Heron from the other line, for the first time in so many years, that name began to haunt him again. Like flashes of lightning that suddenly disturbed the tranquil dark sky, strikes of overwhelming fear started to frighten him.Jeremy sped up.
Serin suddenly woke up. That scenario in her dream was filled with strange familiarity. That mountain. That sword. That guy. Those men on horses. That old man.She could not help but feel like she had already seen them before, not in her dreams but in real life.In haste, she left the bed and walked straight to the closet. As soon as she opened it, she got her black dress.Looking at the embroidered name on the back collar, she felt sudden pain. She did have a name but her identity had remained mysterious. Her memory was still completely empty.Eyes locked on her black
'I'm glad that you're finally here.. right next to me.' It was like a sweet tune to her heart. Serin flashed a warm smile. The pouring rain became a beautiful shower in her teary eyes.No more hesitation, Jeremy fearlessly faced her. The girl, who was standing before him, had given him unfeigned strength during his silent battles. He had yearned for her which felt like forever. Every day and every night, he had waited for this moment. If it's just a dream, he did not want to wake up. But Jeremy was not dreaming, it's real. He was looking into Serin's beautiful eyes."Welcome back. It's nice to see you again." He was floating in a surge of profound happiness. Words alone could not describe what he was feeling at the moment.Serin exchanged tearful smiles with him. Her heart was also exclaiming in unexplainable delight. All those shared moments with him flashed back. From the first time their longing eyes met to the saddest day they p

Five years ago."I will send you the exact address, sir." A male voice said on the other line."You have done such a great job. I will call you if I need something. Thank you." Dave ended the phone call. Nervousness began to tremble him while hurrying downstairs.Carl, the private detective that he had hired, managed to find Yenny in just four weeks. As soon as he walked past the living room, someone, who was comfortably sitting on the luxuriously-looking sofa, caught his eyes. He stopped walking. 'What is she doing here?'"Hi, Dave!" Gail greeted him. She rose up from sitting and walked to where he was standing. She was displaying her beautiful smile. "Where are you going? You must be in a rush.""What brings you here?" He asked coldly."You still have the courage to show up this house after you caused a scene here a month ago?" Jeremy showed up. He was talking about the nig
Gail simpered. "You think you can fool me??" Gail thought that Dave was just fooling around to tease her since he already knew that she had feelings for Jeremy."What if she really likes my brother, will you do something?""I won't do anything because that's not true and that will never happen." There was certainty in her voice. "Since when did you become fond of playing jokes on someone? She let out a heavy sigh. "Driving for almost three hours now must bore you. If boredom is killing you, play some music. Stop spitting non-sense.""What will I get if I play a joke on you?" He sounded so serious while his eyes were focused on driving.Gail looked at him. How his face plastered seriousness could tell that he was no longer teasing her. That's what Gail felt but the truth was, Dave was only acting. He had to fake seriousness in his voice and expression to persuade her that he was telling the truth.
