As soon as her door creaked open, she heard Kirklin and the lady chatting happily.

"I think your children's nanny is out of her room now," said the lady.

"Ignore her," said Kirklin.

Alexandra was shaken to the bone that Kirklin's girlfriend took her for a nanny and he didn't address it. It was as if a dagger struck her heart.
