Chapter 14 ~ Another Chance?

“Don’t tell me it’s him calling again!” Natalie shot Rose a look.

It was four days later and Rose had just told Natalie about what happened and Natalie had very colorful words for him.

“I’m not crazy, I won’t pick up,” Rose responded.

“Good.” Natalie said as she passed Rose a glass of juice, “Because if I were you, I wouldn’t save him even if he was drowning!”

“Aren’t you late for work?” Rose questioned.

“I am but my anger is skyrocketing right now! I’m mad at you too, how could you go out that late in your condition?”

“It won’t happen again, now go. All the best on your case today.” Rose changed the subject.

Constantly having to talk about Ethan was draining her and she just wanted to breathe.

“Thanks, babe! I’ll see you later.” Natalie said as she grabbed her documents and rushed out.

Rose saw a message pop up on her phone and opened it in case it was important. When she opened it, she saw that it was a message from Ethan but what it said made her heart jump to her throat.
