Carla leaned back in her chair, a predatory smile slicing through the dim light of the room. The air was thick with tension as her inner circle gathered around the large table. A map sprawled across its surface, dotted with red pins. Some marked her hard-fought territories, others belonged to Arnulfo and Vito—two men she despised for different reasons but with equal venom.

Her fingers beat a measured cadence on the chair's armrest, each blow deliberate, as if she orchestrated the chaos with the clockwork precision of it.

This riot, she said, her voice dropping to a low, dangerous level, is just the beginning. Vito thinks he can manipulate the chaos for his gain. Arnulfo wants to play the hero and keep his precious estate untouched. She paused, her gaze sweeping the room. But none of them see the bigger picture. None of them see me.

Her lieutenants shifted uncomfortably, exchanging glances. They admired her brilliance, even as it unnerved them.

."Diego," she called, her sharp voice piercing the noise. He looked up. "Yes, Boss?""Loose ends," she said, her gaze piercing. "I don't want any surprises." He nodded, his voice steady even with the weight of her command. As the room emptied, Carla remained by the map, her fingers tracing the lines of the city she was determined to control.“They think they’re playing a game,” she muttered, a cruel smile playing on her lips. “But they don’t realize I’m the one writing the rules.” Her laughter, quiet and menacing, echoed through the room—a promise of the reckoning to come. In the study, Arnulfo stood with his jaw locked, his face told the tale as he listened to the briefing with latest information. Valentine stayed close, her concern obvious. "This is not just random chaos," Arnulfo said, pacing."This is Carla's doing. She is testing the water, seeing how far she can push before we retaliate. Then don't play her game, Arnulfo. Let her make the first mistake," Valentine said, her hand

Diego nodded but the unease wasn't leaving his face. "If they hit us here, it might get messy. Cops have been circulating since the riots began.""Messy?" Carla scoffed. "That's exactly what I want. Let Vito and Arnulfo squirm. Let the city burn. When the dust settles, we'll be the ones standing on top."Her confidence spread, infecting the men around her, making them bolder. The black SUV convoy rushed through the city streets, cutting the night with headlights. In the lead vehicle, Vito slotted a magazine into his pistol with practiced precision."This ends tonight," he said, low and resolute. "No more games, no more threats. Carla learns who runs this city."Marco nodded sharply to his right. "We have the element of surprise. She won't see us coming. As the convoy approached the shipyard, the air thickened with tension. Vito's men checked their weapons, their faces stern and determined. The first gunshot sounded like thunder, shattering the tense silence. Chaos broke out as Vito's

The tension between Vito and Carla was palpable, their mutual hatred simmering just below the surface. The men around them exchanged wary glances, unsure whether to celebrate the sudden ceasefire or prepare for another explosion of violence.Carla smirked, her confidence unshaken. "Enjoy your little victories while you can, Vito. The next time we meet, I won't be so generous."Vito's lips curled into a cold smile. "Generous? Don't flatter yourself, Carla. The only reason you're walking away is because Arnulfo decided to play savior. But he won't always be there to clean up your mess."Carla stepped closer, her heels clicking ominously against the concrete. "Watch your back, Vito. I don't lose twice.""And I don't lose at all," Vito shot back, his eyes narrowing.Their conversation was suddenly interrupted by a distant howling of approaching sirens. The two men became stiff and sat up at once, fully absorbing the seriousness of the coming ramifications."That will have to continue late

The air inside the warehouse was oppressive, heavy with the metallic scent of blood and unspoken tension. Carla's boots clicked on the cement floor as she paced with a restless intensity, her shadow stretching long in the dim light of the room. Each step seemed to repeat the cacophony that was still so vivid in her head: the screams, the gunfire, and the faces of the men she lost.Victoria," she snarled, pounding her fist on the table hard enough to send the maps and papers fluttering. The thud echoed in the room, making the cluster of men before her jump in their seats. Her lieutenants, scarred by battles fought on street corners, seemed uncomfortable. No one wanted to get swept up in a storm like this one emanating from their leader."She played us!" Carla hissed, venom in her voice. "That snake waited for the right moment to strike, then walked away as we bled for her schemes."The youngest and most reckless of her lieutenants, Diego, swallowed hard and then cleared his throat hesit

Carla's fingers followed the red pins on the map as her mind whirled with possibilities. Every loss, every betrayal, only fueled the fire burning inside her. The docks were a crucial point, and if Arnulfo was making a move there, it was her chance to remind him—and everyone else—why she was a force to be reckoned with.Tonight, we take back control," she whispered to herself, her eyes flashing with cold determination. The warehouse bustled with activity as her men prepared for the mission. Guns were checked and loaded, cars lined up, and plans were whispered among the ranks. Tension hung heavy in the air. They knew the stakes were high, but Carla's presence was a force that bound them, her sheer will pushing them forward.Marco approached her cautiously, his expression wary. “Boss, everything’s ready. But. you’re sure about this? The docks are crawling with Arnulfo’s people. It’s going to be a bloodbath.”Carla snapped around at him, her eyes narrowing. "Do I look like a bloody coward

Her face darkened, the amusement gone from her eyes. "You should know by now, I don't do last chances." She raised her gun, her finger hovering over the trigger.Arnulfo didn't blink. "Me neither."A shot was fired, but neither of them was the source. The sound was followed by both sides shouting, and Carla and Arnulfo automatically dived for cover as the firefight picked up again. The fragile peace they had shared for those brief moments was smashed to pieces.Huddled behind a container, Carla growled into her earpiece. "Diego! What is going on?Diego’s voice crackled through the chaos. “Boss, they’ve got reinforcements—we’re pinned down!”Carla cursed under her breath, her mind racing. She peered around the edge of her cover, catching a glimpse of Arnulfo issuing orders to his men with the same calm authority that infuriated her.“I don’t care what it takes,” she growled. “Get me out of here alive. We’ll regroup and hit them harder next time.”Diego hesitated. “Understood, boss.”Ac

Victoria paced in a dimly lit study of the sprawling mansion with an anger level that was practically palpable. Her mind kept racing with her failures, her failures to a point where Carla was now behind her, as well as one by one falling alliances. Her carefully crafted plan had not only backfired but threatened everything she held close.A sharp knock at the door broke her reverie. She didn't have a chance to open it when it burst open and in strode her father, Don Victor Giupere, his face a thunderstorm, sharp features twisted with rage. The patriarch stood tall and imposing, and tonight, his anger was a storm ready to unleash."Victoria!" he bellowed, slamming the door shut behind him. "Do you know what you just did?You ruin everything!"Victoria straightened, her confidence faltering under his blazing gaze. “Father, I—”Before she could finish, Victor’s hand shot out, striking her cheek with a sharp slap that echoed through the room. Victoria stumbled slightly, her hand flying to

Victoria smirked, her eyes narrowing. “Do you really think I care what my father says, Mateo?”He hesitated, looking over his shoulder at the closed door. "With respect, ma'am, Don Victor is not a man to cross. If he finds out—""Let me worry about my father," Victoria cut in, her voice sharp. She took a step closer, her heels clicking on the polished floor. "You work for me, Mateo, not him. Or have you forgotten?"I haven't," he said evenly, meeting her gaze. "But I also haven't forgotten that your father signs the checks."Victoria's smile hardened. "And if you're smart, you'll remember who's truly in control here. Now, are you with me or not?"Mateo's jaw tightened, and for a moment, Victoria thought he might push back. But then he nodded, his voice low. "I'm with you.""Good." Victoria turned back to her desk, where a map of the city lay spread out. She traced a manicured finger along the paper, stopping at a key intersection near the docks. "I need you to deliver a message. Quiet

The soft hum of engines faded into silence as Vito stepped out of his car, his sharp suit a stark contrast to the grim exhaustion in his eyes. He was a man used to holding all the cards, but tonight, his hands felt empty. He had nothing left to gamble except his pride—and even that had been chipped away.Arnulfo's estate stretched before him, a fortress of understated elegance. Lights gleamed softly through tall windows, and guards stood at attention, their gazes keen as they watched every movement Vito made. He raised his hands a little, holding himself back as one of Arnulfo's men approached."I need to speak with him," Vito said, trying to keep his voice steady as he fought what was going on inside. "Tell him it's urgent. The guard hesitated for a moment then nodded, disappearing into the house. Minutes later, the heavy doors creaked open, and there stood Arnulfo, holding a glass of whiskey in one hand and wearing a faint smirk on his lips."Well, well," Arnulfo said in his drawled

The night wore on, and each passing second fed the fire in Victoria's chest. But she felt the restraint of her place more with every ticking moment. The room, even though it be luxurious, would choke her; every inch made her remember the powerful figurehead she once had been, feared and respected equally. Today, she's a pawn, playing her part in her father's games-to be trapped, to be manipulated, to be strangled. Her pacing was interrupted by a soft knock on the door. Victoria froze, her sharp gaze snapping to the entrance. Nobody dared to disturb her unless absolutely necessary."Miss Victoria?" came the timid voice of Elena, one of the few staff members brave—or foolish—enough to address her directly."Go away," Victoria snapped, her tone icy.She was silent for a long time before responding, her voice shaking a little. "Don Victor sent me to bring you dinner, ma'am. You haven't eaten all day."Victoria clenched her fists. She was starving, but the idea of accepting anything from he

Meanwhile, Arnulfo sat back in his chair, an expression of mirth and incredulity crossing his face as Leo relayed the latest news."Victor grounded his own daughter?" Arnulfo asked, raising an eyebrow, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Victoria Giupere, locked away like a disobedient teenager?"Leo nodded, his voice guarded. "It's true. She's confined to the estate. Don Victor has placed strict orders—no one in, no one out without his say. He's furious about the mess she's made."Arnulfo laughed, but the sound was devoid of humor. "I suppose the mighty Victoria wasn't so untouchable after all. What a shame. She's like a caged lioness now, pacing behind gilded bars."Leo looked at Arnulfo. "Do you think we should be afraid? If she is confined, that means she's planning something. That woman doesn't know how to just sit there."Arnulfo became pensive and started tapping his fingers on the armrest of his chair. "Oh, she is planning something, all right. Victor may think he could contain

They stood there, bathed in the warm caress of twilight, drawing strength from each other. And in the distance, the final rays of the sun disappeared as the garden kept on being lit by the silver cool glow of the stars. And for the first time since what seemed to be an eternity, Sabrina allowed herself the hope that peace was possible-they would face whatever came after that together. The aftermath of the latest clash between Carla's and Vito's forces was destructive. The debris-strewn streets were replete with shattered vehicles and injured bodies. The constant crackle and boom of firefights diminished into eerie stillness, cut only by groans of wounded and wail of sirens in the far distance. She was standing in the midst of wreckage. Her breathing harsh, clothes were torn, and besmeared with blood. She rubbed a streak of blood from her forehead; she had no idea whose it belonged to, though. Her men were trying to regroup, but they'd lost far too many.Carla's jaw set, and her dark ey

Meanwhile, Carla was in the thick of the fight on the other side of the battle. Her gun was blazing as she led her men with fearless resolve into the fray, her voice hoarse from shouting, "Hold the line! We've bled too much to give up now!"It was a ferocious fight, the product of their shared disdain for one another. As daylight came, streets lay scattered with leftovers of battle-ash, wrecked automobiles, smashed glass panes, blood-splattered pavement-and a city still had all its wounds; and it could already remember to view streets grimly against all this as overnight's carnage spilled on it. Smoky haze emanated from burned automobile hulls and morning air held that burning sensation, sharp with powder fumes.Glass cracked on the floor, crunching as the first rays of morning lit up the site of slaughter: blood on concrete, painting in macabre red, of lives lost over the mercilessly endless war of Vito against Carla. Standing over the ruins of his operations, his features were grim a

Victoria stood up, her gait slow and deliberate. She trailed her fingers over the intricate carvings on the mahogany desk in the corner of the room. Her father had selected this prison for her with careful consideration—everything she could possibly need was here, except freedom. But what Don Victor didn't understand was that Victoria wasn't a woman who waited for opportunity to come knocking on her door. She created them. Her eyes locked onto the mirror that hung on the wall, its gilded frame glinting in the dim light. She contemplated her own reflection for a moment, a look of hardness on her face like stone. This was no fragile, defeated girl. This was Victoria Giupere—a woman who had built her reputation on cunning, manipulation, and power. And no one, not even her father, could strip her of that. She turned her head to the door, her mind calculating. The guards outside were loyal, but loyalty could be bought—or broken. All she needed was to sow the right seeds of doubt, the right

As the soft gold rays spread across the bedroom, the world outside became alive once more. The pounding heart of the city would soon return Arnulfo to its craziness, but for now he let himself just bask at this temporary peace. In Valentines' embracing arms, solace was at hand, remembering that even under the darkness are lights.Valentine stroked her fingers along the swell of his jaw, the touch as soothing as a balm. "You carry so much, Arnulfo," she said gently. "You do not have to do that alone."He met her gaze, his eyes filled with a sense of gratitude and resolve. "I know. You have been my strength, Valentine. Every step I take, every battle I fight, it is all for us. The life we are building together. She smiled, her expression tender. “And I’ll always be by your side, no matter what. But promise me something.”“What is it?” he asked, his tone serious.“Promise me that when this is all over—when the dust settles—you’ll allow yourself to breathe. To live. Not for the city, not

"No, no, no," Arnulfo said, holding her hands. He cuddled her close and kissed her cheek. "Leave them in, my babe," he whispered in her ear.He pulled the dress up to reveal her cute belly button, with a small strawberry piercing, which he savoured with kisses, as he stroked her thighs.Arnulfo began kissing her forehead. "You're mine, Valentine. I'm going to treat you like my own!" He sensually ran his lips downto her nose, and then kissed her soft neck, feeling the pulse in her veins.Valentine groaned as he stroked her bare back by her shoulders. She started trembling as he caressed his way to her upper chest, with strong but nerdy hands- which he used for training and writing so fiercely that there were some minute scars still there. She was then kissed over her strapless purple and red floral playsuit, over the cloth over her right nipple. He blew on it; she began to cry with pleasure.Arnulfo immediately stopped, his heart skipping a beat. He had not intended to make her cry!"

For Emilio, in Victor's clenched fists and stiffened posture, he saw a leader wrestling with betrayal but a father torn between duty and love. The silence was heavy and heavy until it dragged. It felt like the walls themselves were holding their breath and wanted not to disturb this fragile moment. Finally, the boy in the corner had just listened silently till Arnulfo rose from his corner and began: "Victoria. Do you know that everything has started to disintegrate-all this confusion within this city-with Victoria? All this mess no longer is simply your family issue. She dragged all of us into this one."Victor turned, the piercing look pinning Arnulfo. "Do you not know that? He sounded tired. "Can you not envision that I spend each day plagued by the fear that my very daughter has ended this empire as surely as my brother did a lifetime ago?Arnulfo gritted his jaw.
