Kyle's POV**I shouldn't be here. I need to find a way out from the situation I had gotten myself into. Just as I was about to pull out all the pins fixed on my body, the door to the room fled open. A man in a white gown and Mr. Devon walked in. When they noticed I was awake, Mr. Devon went wide in surprise. “Coach, you're finally awake!”“Mr. Devon, what happened? How did you find me?”Mr. Devon's expression turned into anger. “Didn't I tell you not to think of anything and just go to bed?”“It's not that easy, and you know-” I paused when I realized I wasn't the only one in the room. Good thing Mr. Devon has signaled me earlier with his eyes, which made me pause. “Uhm, actually what made you pass out was lack of sleep and exhaustion. You seem to have been under a lot of pressure lately, am I wrong?" The doctor asked, looking into my eyes. At this point, my hands shivered. It appeared the doctor was judging me for my wrongdoing. Mr. Devon must have noticed I had trembled so he pre
***Kyle's POV**I sauntered to the wardrobe and took out the letter from the bag. I walked back to the bed and stared at the big brown envelope. Just what on earth could be inside? I guess I'll have to find out for myself. I hope it's not something to make me worse. By the way, I've received letters in my mailbox in the past and none of them were scary. I'm guessing it's about work, right? With shaky hands, I opened the envelope. I don't understand why, but for some reason, I can't seem to relax with this envelope. I shut my eyes briefly at that moment and heaved a long, deep sigh. No matter what is in there, I must find out for myself. With that, I pulled out the letter inside, or so I thought. But what came out from the envelope was shockingly, pictures. I creased my brow in a frown, wondering why there are pictures sent to me in my mailbox. I inspected the picture and saw a beautiful lady with dark long hair and a pretty smile. She's not someone I've seen before. I checked the
***Kyle's POV***As soon as the other person on the line picked up the call, I held my breath. “Hello?” The voice sounded soft and mild. It was that of a woman. "H…hello, I don't know who you are, but I got this number, which was written on a parcel containing pictures and a flash drive. “My goodness! Kyle, is that the name?” I froze when she called my name. Who is this? "Yes…may I know who you are, please?"“If you really want to know, then find me at the address. I'll send you your phone now.”She ended the call and in no later than 5 minutes, my phone buzzed. I looked at my screen and noticed that it was a message containing the address of a hotel. “Meet me here tomorrow, 8am.” The message stated. Immediately, I stood up from my bed and began pacing from one end to the next. I bit my lower lips. Numerous thoughts are flying through my mind, but I just can't settle for one. At this point, I wouldn't deny the fact that I've become unstable, unfortunately. What should I do? I was
**Kyle's POV**“Mrs. Diana…” she trailed off. “Kyle, you know nothing of what's going on, and I would really appreciate it if you can listen to what I'm about to tell you.”“This is why I came here in the first place, so shoot!”The lady took a deep breath and continued. “Like you must have seen in the video, I used to be your father's mistress. Now I know you'll judge me for it, and I agree I was greedy and didn't know how to treat myself better. But you see, coming from a background where love is scarce, finding someone like Dortmund was like a dream come true. He showed me just how I could have been loved, and I couldn't help falling helplessly in love with him.”I gritted my teeth in anger, hearing this from the lady. Looking at her, I noticed tears dripping from the corners of her eyes as she explained. “When I got pregnant, I had thought Dortmund would be happy and love me more, but that didn't happen. He spent money on me for sure, but I had no idea that those monies he spent
**Kyle's POV**As soon as we arrived at the hospital premises, I reached for the car door, but Devon immediately called to my attention, “Kyle, what the hell is going on? You can talk to me, you know that, right?”I looked at him, but whatever I had to say struck in my throat. I can't bring myself to explain anything to him at this moment. I was barely holding on. “It's okay. You don't need to explain things to me yet. But I want you to know that you cannot lose yourself to anger. Please, you must not make another mistake.”"Trust me, there shall be no mistakes from now on.”Just as I was about to get down, I remembered the envelope which I had left in the back seat of Devon's car and I quickly retrieved it. “I'll let you know once I'm done inside.”“Alright, I'll be waiting.”As soon as I entered the room, I saw my dad resting on the bed with his hand on his chest. The minute he heard the door, he turned his gaze towards me and struggled to sit up straight. “Son, you're here. I wa
**Fancy's POV***Being bedridden was the list I deserve. I laid in bed, feeling sick for the past three days now. I couldn't even raise my gaze up because my eyelids have become too tired for me to do so. A knock on the door distracted me and I slowly dragged my lazy eyelids to the door but could not speak. The door slowly pushed open, and my dad showed up. “Fancy, goodness! I have been ringing the doorbell for some minutes now. If I hadn't known the code to your apartment I'm sure I would still be outside by now.” He complained, but I couldn't even bring myself up to apologize for not being able to answer him. “My love, don't you think it's time for you to get out of bed? Your mom came to me, telling me how you've refused to leave the bed or let go of his picture.” My dad strode towards me and sat on the chair next to my bed. “Fancy, I know it's difficult to hold up. Trust me, I'm dying in silence. I wake up each day waiting for him to knock on my door but…” my dad trailed off w
**Kyle's POV***For the past one week after I found out what my father did, I have never had a moment of peace. It was so bad that I saw Jacob in my dream, but they were all memories of when we were together. Whenever I wake up, I cry and scream until I become sick. I've become a shadow of myself. I rarely ever left my bed not to talk about leaving the hotel room. Each day, room service serves me meals, but I never got a taste of anything called food. My only companion was alcohol. I became a drunk in just a month. I didn't just get tormented by the death of Jacob; I got tormented by the memories of me and Fancy. I wonder how she's doing now? Some nights I drive to her new home and just stare at her window until the lights are turned off. I've never seen her leave her house and I wonder if she's suffering from the death of her brother, and if she blames me. She has every reason to blame me. If she hadn't given her heart to me, then all of this wouldn't have happened. She must be b
**Kyle's POV**I pondered about what Mr. Devon advised all night, and then I realized that what he said was the best thing to do. There's no way I'll be able to rest without asking forgiveness. I'm the villain here and if I must make things right. I've decided to pay for my crimes. The next morning, I made preparations and headed to Mrs. Diana's house using Mr. Devon's truck. I still haven't gone home, and this isn't because I feared the authorities, but because I have so many memories of Fancy at my place. Not only that, Mr. Devon wouldn't let me leave since he believes I might go suicidal again. I can't vouch for myself either, because I know that I'm not stable.Getting to Mrs. Diana's apartment, I looked at the time through my wristwatch which says, 5pm. It was evening, and I saw her car parked outside her garage. What I don't know is if she's home alone. I can't tell if I would have the fortitude to stand in front of her, especially if there were more people in the house, like F
