CHAPTER I

The Rebellious Brother

I stay up late in the middle of the night still reviewing some of the paper works I took home from office.

I haven't been myself the whole day cause I'm too distracted by him. Naiinis ako sa kanya to the point na pati trabaho ko'y apektado na.

Tutok ako sa laptop ko when I heard my door slowly swung open. Maingat at halos walang ingay ang pagbukas nito.

I frowned upon seeing the silhouette of my brother coming in. He carefully shut the door off in order that he couldn't make any noise. His familiar masculine scent immediately cluttered around my dimmed room.

I glanced at the digital clock in the upper left corner of my laptop and it says that it's already one o'clock in the morning.

I expelled a sigh.

This scene is very usual and I always found it as an ordinary practice of ours dahil kapag tulog lang ang lahat sa bahay na 'to ay iyon lang ang tanging hudyat na puwede siyang pumasok dito sa bedroom ko o ako sa bedroom niya.

I knew that he tracked me from the light coming from my laptop kaya natunton niya kung nasaan ako.

My stupid heart promptly pound inside my chest as I feel him coming near me. Napasinghap ako dahil walang anu-ano ay yinakap niya ako mula sa likuran. I shrug him off when I felt his rogue and warm breath in my neck.

“Get off, Troy!” I hiss.

Instead of setting me free ay mas lalo pa niyang hinigpitan ang pagyapos sa akin. “I'm not afraid of death but I'm so terrified thinking that your coldness might be the reason of my end, princess.”

I pursed my lips, attempting to hunt the best words for that but I'm now in a doom mood. I'm still in the state of hating him.

“Averie, please talk to me! You've been neglecting me for three days now. Kausapin mo na 'ko, oh!”

It's funny how the badass and rebellious person I've ever known could plead, pleading for his sister's attention. Everyone is clueless about his soft and good side. Everyone addressed him as the black sheep and unruly jerk of the family while myself is known as the innocent and responsible daughter.

“Then you have stop feeding me reasons to hate you, Troy! Alam mo bang tatlong gabi rin akong hindi makatulog dahil hindi maalis sa sistima ko ang pag-aalala sa'yo.” Pagalit kong sabi. Sinubukan ko ulit na kumawala sa bisig niya at nagwagi naman ako.

But knowing him, hindi niya ako magagawang pakawalan ng gano'n lang.

In just a swift move of him ay ngayo'y nasa bisig na naman niya ako. He carefully lifted me up and brought ourselves on top of my queen sized bed. Pumaibabaw siya sa akin at sa ganitong paraan niya papawiin ang galit ko sa kanya.

“Troy, not now, okay? Trayvon is just right behind that wall!” Suway ko sa kanya.

Labis ang pag-iingat ko lalo pa't nakauwi ngayon dito sa bahay namin si Trayvon, my twin brother. And knowing him, baka sa isang iglap lang ay sumabog na ang lihim namin na ilang taon na naming iniingatan. My hidden affair with my brother.

“I could care less, princess. I just missed you so much.” Sinimulan niyang paulanan ng halik ang aking leeg.

“Binalaan na kita, Troy na huwag mong patulan ang kalokohan ni Chino pero anong ginawa mo? You didn't listen to me! I'm so disappointed with you, know that?”

Nag-init na naman ang gilid ng aking mga mata nang maalala ko na naman ang napanood ko ng gabing iyon. Troy is completely unaware na nando'n ako ng gabing 'yon. Nagtatago sa hindi kalayuan at umiiyak habang pinagmamasdan siya na handang isuko ang buhay niya kay kamatayan.

“Princess..”

“Troy, I was there,” I confess.

I felt him stiffened above me. I could feel the weight of his stare he's giving me. “What the hell, Averie?” Umalis ito sa ibabaw ko at humiga sa aking tabi.

His heavy breaths were very audible to my senses. “Fuck! Hindi ka dapat pumunta sa lugar na 'yon. Paano.. paano kong napahamak ka? Bullshit!”

“Pinagsabihan na kasi kita pero hindi mo 'ko pinakinggan. Wala na bang halaga sa'yo ang opinyon ko?” Nagsitakasan na ang mainit na likido na ilang araw ko nang iniipon.

I can't help it anymore.

“Averie princess, that's not my point! You have no idea how dangerous that place is. An angel like you shouldn't be in that place. It's hell, princess.”

“I'm just so worried about you. You can't blame me, Troy. Ayokong mapahamak ka dahil lang sa akin. Hindi kakayanin ng konsyensya ko.”

Troy hurriedly rolled over me once again as he heard my sob.

“Princess, I'm so sorry. I am sorry. You have to stop crying or else I won't hesitate to croak that jerk's ass for creep's sake. God, Averie. I.. you know I hate seeing you crying.” Taranta niyang pinapahid ang mga luha ko.

Gusto ko na lang matawa sa inaasta niya ngayon. Noon pa ma'y nagfre-freak out na ang mga kapatid ko kapag umiiyak ako. I once bullied when I was in junior high at iyong lalaking nang-bully sa akin ay halos ma-terno na ang mukha sa inodoro dahil bugbog ang inabot niya kay Troy. Kahit naman mga pasaway ang dalawang iyon ay wala akong masasabi sa kanila. They're the naughty, freak angels of our club.

“Just leave Chino alone, okay? He's a mad man at hindi mo na siya kailangang patulan.” Nahaluan ng inis ang boses ko.

I'm thankful that my eyes isn't capable of producing fresh tears as of now.

“I have to scrape him off your way. My fists are itching everytime I remember that he likes you. I'm gonna strangle his neck if he doesn't stop hitting on you. Damn! I am so tempted to send him to perdition!” I don't have to guess how intense his anger towards Chino.

“Pero hindi ibig sabihin no'n na papayag kang makipag-death race sa kanya! Alam mo ba na ang pumapatol lang sa baliw ay kapwa din niya baliw?”

My consciousness scoots a little when his warm and rough hand began to rub my breast. I'm only in my scanty nightgown and no bra at all.

Sandaling naglaban ang aming mga dila hanggang sa pakawalan na niya ang mga labi ko. He temporarily get off me to undressed himself.
