SYLVIA'S POV

I could barely process the chaotic scene in the hospital room as Paul and Rex burst in, their urgent expressions making it clear they were ready to spring into action. I gave them a quick nod, signaling that I was okay and that they should leave. I could see the determination in their eyes as they glanced around before retreating.

Alice and Jocelia, on the other hand, hovered like predatory vultures, their eyes fixed on me with a mix of malice and satisfaction. Alice's long acrylic nails traced the edge of Grayson’s hospital bed as she approached me with a sneer.

“The body isn’t even cold yet, and the vultures start circling, huh?” I said, trying to mask the unease in my voice.

Jocelia’s face twisted into a snarl. “You think you can come in here and take over everything? I’ll be the end of you.”

I turned to face Jocelia, who was seething with rage behind me. “I have nothing to fear from a fool who has no sense of self-respect,” I replied coolly.
