SYLVIA'S POV

The operating room door swung open, and the doctor stepped out, her expression serious yet reassuring. My heart pounded in my chest as Paul and Rex and I rushed to her side.

“How is he?” I asked, my voice trembling despite my best efforts to stay calm.

The doctor gave us a reassuring smile. “He’s out of surgery and out of danger. He’s resting now.”

I let out a breath I didn’t realize I was holding, a wave of relief washing over me. “When can we see him?”

The doctor’s gaze shifted to me. “Are you family?”

I nodded, my voice barely a whisper. “He’s the father of my kids.”

The doctor’s expression softened. “In that case, only you can see him for now.”

I nodded, feeling a mix of gratitude and nervousness. “Thank you.”

As the doctor led me to the room, I stole a glance back at Paul and Rex. Their concern mirrored my own, but for now, it was just me who could be by Grayson’s side. I took a deep breath and stepped into the room, hoping to find him stable and recovering.
