Chapter 91

Genevieve sat in the plush living room of her father’s mansion, a place she had grown up in but rarely visited since the scandal that had turned her life upside down. The decorations and antique furniture seemed almost oppressive now as if reminding her of the wealth they had possessed without question.

Her father sat beside her, his eyes fixed on the large television screen mounted on the wall.

He didn't bother to ask her how she had gotten out of the basement. A bigger issue was at hand.

He hadn't attended Theodore's second hearing not wanting the press to follow him the way they had done the other time.
