DAMON’S POV “So? What do we do?” Colton asks impatiently as soon as the last person walks out the door. I let out a deep sigh and take a seat, massaging my forehead. “What do we do Damon?” Colton insists irritating me a little. “I don’t know Colton.” I say sounding defeated. “I’m trying to think.” “Well while you’re trying to think, the vampires who attacked us must have arrived at their hideout by now. They have humans now and they won’t be stupid enough to kill them. They’ll keep them alive to feed from them which means they have an unlimited supply of blood now. And if the Vampire lord is still alive, I hope you see the problem this poses for us Damon.” He asserts. “Don’t you think I know that Colton?” I reply uninterestedly as I keep massaging my forehead trying to think of a way to solve this mess. “I say we attack. We shouldn’t wait for the vampire Lord to get strong enough to attack us first. I say we take the fight to him and defeat him. Just like last time. We even have
DAMON’S POVHer hands are small. Too small. After all what she’s been through you would think her palms should be as hard as a rock. But they feel like cotton on the back of my neck. I started asking Morgana to massage me after a month of having her as a pet.She hesitated the first few times, probably by how repulsed she gets when she’s close to me. She does it naturally now, not because she’s comfortable being around me now.I think she likes to fantasize about all the ways she would like to hurt me. I can see it in her eyes. Her hands are soft on my skin but her facial expressions say something completely different. She hates me, as she should. Her massages are something I’ve gotten used to. They do nothing to ease the pain in my muscles though. Her hands are too soft for that. It has just become a routine for me now.I speak rudely to her not because I want to, but because that’s how a master should treat their pet. I don’t gain any pleasure from seeing humans in pain anymore, es
DAMON’S POVMy brothers and I got to the slavery organization a few minutes ago. Once we stepped in, the smell of human as well as werewolf blood filled our nostrils. The vampires really hit us hard. How could we have been so careless, so irresponsible? How could I let them do this to my people. The werewolves are counting on me, Reece was counting on me and yet, when the vampires came, I wasn’t even there to protect them.“This is unbelievable.” Colton comments.“It’s even worse than I thought.” Ryder states.“Clean this up. Give the dead proper burials and double security in this place.” I order to some guards we came with.“Brothers. It’s time to go back to the castle and start with the preparations. War is coming.” I say in a low voice, searching for strength from the deepest parts of me. Once my brothers and I arrive back at the castle, we organized our troops making sure we had enough soldiers that were fit for war. We divided them into four groups each headed by our most power
MORGANA’S POV “Look at me.” He demands. I don’t hesitate to raise my head. I hate looking up at him like this because he’s too tall and it hurts my neck. His eyes are a bottomless dark sea. I don’t think anyone on this earth has eyes as dark as his. He’s too close to me. I don’t like it.I mentally scold myself for not noticing he was in the room. That just proves how easy it is for him to sneak up on me. I wonder how long he has been in here, watching me like some sick psychopath. His hand grazes my cheek sending unpleasant shivers down my back. He moves his hands from my cheek to my arm, leaving trails of his touch as he glides his fingers further down.“What are you doing?” I ask, my voice coming out weak and frail. My question makes him abruptly stop his movement. Like he was under some sort of hypnosis and I just snapped him back into reality. I move slightly backwards away from him.The emotion i
DAMON’S POVThe trackers left early this morning to find the hideout of the vampires. I only sent out the best of the best of our men so with their werewolf speed, they should be back with news by nightfall. I hit Morgana yesterday, and I couldn’t get any rest last night because I kept getting attacked by this thing we call a conscience. Every time I look at her, I’m consumed and overwhelmed with guilt. I didn’t even realize how hard I hit her out of anger. Her right cheek is swollen and she has an awful bruise on her lip. Due to her pale skin, the spot where I hit her has turned purple. I can’t even bring myself to look at her. Once upon a time, I wouldn’t have given a shit about this. The care I feel towards her is presently the most annoying thing about my life. Not even the vampires are annoying me this much. I guess it’s because I know I can destroy them in the blink of an eye with my serum. But it’s different with Morgana. I don’t want to destroy her. If anything, I want to
MORGANA’S POV The morning bells ring, pulling me out of my slumber. I really hate those bells. The memories I have of them are traumatizing. The sound usually takes me back to the time I was flogged at the slavery organization. I basically have post-traumatic stress when I hear those bells. The Alpha is always normally up at this time but as I leave my cage and scan the room, he’s nowhere to be found. Maybe he went out to run some errands. I head over to his bed to dress it up when I find a note addressed to me on the small table beside his bed. My name is written in red ink on a piece of paper. “Open me” is written on the back of the paper. I grab the note and open it. Did he leave this for me? I let out a breath and start reading the note. It reads: “Might be gone for some days. Left to track the vampires. Take care.
DAMON’S POV“I didn’t expect you to be back so soon brother. This means good news then.” Colton asks me as I take a seat on my chair in our meeting room.I didn’t expect to be back so soon either. I didn’t attain the goal I went out for. But something happened. I take out a piece of paper from my coat and place it on the table in front of Colton and Ryder.“What’s this?” Ryder picks up the note, reading it out loud with a frown.“We have Reece. Apparently, he’s important to you. If you continue looking for us, we’ll kill him.” Ryder lets out a frustrated sigh as he finishes reading the note.“So that’s why you’re back so soon. The vampires threatened you.” Ryder states.“Where did you find that?” Colton asks snatching the piece of paper from Ryder’s hold as he examines it.“Their old hideout. Where Recce’s ring was found.” I answer simply. I’m so tired and I don’t know what to do.“What are you going to do?” Colton asks impatiently.“I don’t know. We’ll have to find another way to fin
DAMON’S POVI kept waiting for her to wake up. All night, I watched her, her chest rising and falling slowly as she struggled to breathe. Even unconscious she was suffering. With every breath she took, I couldn’t help but think of the many ways I wanted to make Colton pay. My anger grew worse as I watched her and I had to refrain myself so many times from barging into Colton’s room in the middle of the night and beating him to a pulp.I suppose Morgana isn’t going to wake up anytime soon. The nurse said she’ll fully recover in two weeks and who knows? Maybe it’ll take longer than that.“I should never have left you Morgana.” I whisper slowly as I cup her cheek. Her skin cold underneath my palms. She looks like all the life has been drained out of her.I don’t know why but it hurts me greatly to see her like this. To see her in this much pain breaks my heart into tiny little pieces. As if I hadn’t caused her enough pain already, Colton just had to go and make it worse. As I watch Morg
