Adrian sat on a chair in his room, writing down some stuff on paper. Trevor had told him how his grandfather was killed. Ashford closed the door as soon as Adrian and Phoebe stepped inside. He held a box in his hand—the same box Phoebe had dropped earlier. Adrian helped Phoebe to a chair and tried to comfort her; she was breathing heavily, and tears threatened to fall. Her hands were trembling more than he had expected. His sister was terrified. She stared at him innocently, as if nothing had happened. She wondered what he wanted to say to her. Was he going to scold her for still speaking with Ashford, whom he believed to be her ex-lover? She also wondered about his reaction when he discovered that she was mated to both of them. Ashford hadn't reacted much and had allowed her to do as she pleased, but he had made it clear that she couldn't reject him. Even though she had tried, he was determined not to let her go. “Why are you on her bed?” Adrian repeated for the fifteenth time. “I can’t hear you.” Ashford said. “And who are you to tell me where to stay? Ashford flashed a smile at the man in front of him. Adrian was still pinning him down to the ground; his eyes were getting dark, and every word he spoke came out as a growl. "You come from the Lust Mind Pack and have the right to stand in this house." Luna gulped down nothing in particular. Was there anything wrong with the pack's mind? She hoped she had not ruined her chances by saying Ashford was from that pack. What pack was that, anyway? Were they enemies of Lunar Crest? Her thoughts kept going wide until she could not bear the silence anymore. "What is wrong if he is from the Lust Mind Pack?" Luna asked. Adrian glanced at Luna. "You don't know? You don't know anything about the pack; are you even a werewolf?" Ashford's eyes darkened. "That is it! You can talk to me anyhow, but not to her. When all of them gathered at the dining room for breakfast. Phoebe and Neon were still in a heated argument; Luna, on the other hand, was trying her very best not to take any meat since she was already used to it.
