Chapter 11 Misunderstood Him For Too Long

Mr. Smith whom Mr. Scott's longtime friend had known exactly why his friend seems so sad and melancholic in narrating his story about his own son.

He once had a son too. A young and good looking one just like his daughter but fate treated them ruthlessly and played them cruelly. And not just his son but also his wife was taken away from them. Leaving the two of them suffering in too much agony.

The feeling of grievance and sorrows that he choose to hide in his heart within the years resurfaced again. The bleeding wound that he ignored as time went to pass by as he thought that it had already healed but he was wrong. It was just patched up momentarily and it burst out again as it was tightening his chest even more. But he can’t let his emotions wrapped himself again.

He needed to be strong for his own daughter and support her in every possible way. And he was also aware of his daughter’s main goal upon coming back. As a supportive father, he should always be the one whom stood in her side to encourage her to go on fighting for whatever may come across them.

Trying hard to suppress his surging emotions, he stood up from his own seat and approached his sobbing daughter. He wrapped his arms around her lovingly and hugged her tightly. He tried to comfort her while rubbing her back repeatedly until she calm herself down.

Izzabelle's body was trembling while sobbing, she has totally lost control in her emotions. She couldn’t bear to hear that something bad and unacceptable might had happened to her boyfriend. Even if she hadn’t heard the ending of the whole story yet. Judging by the looks on Mr. Daniel’s eyes, she could already imagine that he didn’t end up well. Her mind played and flashed different possible worst scenarios that might Ethan encountered during his disappearance.

“Ssshhhh..! baby it’s okay, let it all out... I know your hurting, but please be  strong and bravely face it, we will get through this, we still have each other, remember?” Her dad whispered gently as he was rubbing her long hair with his hand lovingly.

She nodded her head slowly as she was wiping her tear stained beautiful face. She was very thankful for her father’s thoughtfulness. Even though she successfully gained a lot of appreciation and recognition independently, still she needs someone who could motivate and encourage her to keep on going, someone who could love her unconditionally just incase every thing went haywire and go against her will.

Mr. Daniel just keep himself silent for a while as he was observing the whole situation. He hadn’t had finished telling her the whole story yet that’s why he decided to paused for a moment and let her absorb the truth, but he badly needed to release his predicament. This young lady was his son’s former girlfriend that's why she needed to know the whole truth. He then cleared his throat again to caught the father and daughter’s attention and continued on talking. 

“Izzabelle there’s still something that you  need to be aware of. He.. he... went missing for almost six years now... I.. I don’t have any idea if he’s still alive right now...”

Mr. Scott stuttered while speaking as he was afraid and scared of the possibility that his son might have already gone. He didn't dare to think any further like that. He just couldn't do it! It was so devastating for him!

He can’t bring himself to speak smoothly, his body shook slightly as he wanted to cover his own sobs. For him, it’s been a long time since he felt such overwhelming emotions like this again. His insides were in a turmoil again remembering his own son’s disappearance.

Since then, he was feeling down  and dispirited miserably. He was a dignified deputy CEO of a big company but he can’t even brought himself to protect his own son. He felt helpless, useless and desperate at the same time. He could only hope for Izzabelle to help him too. His friend told him how capable she was now. He would forever be indebted to her if she could help him. 

His revelation successfully  got the young lady’s attention. Something seems to trigger inside her. Her instincts reacted quickly. She blinked thoughtfully, trying to figure out what he meant by ‘went missing’, her heart made a huge jump to her throat blocking her air tube. She couldn’t find the right words to ask as she was having difficulty in breathing.

‘Does this mean that Ethan was taken against his own will? And he might still be alive right now..?’ She muttered silently while starring at him blankly lost in her thoughts.

A glimmer of hope suddenly flashed in her hazel fiery eyes. Yes! There's still has a possibility that her boyfriend is still alive at this moment. This thought had sent additional determination on herself.

“Princess, say something please... Why are you so silent? Your scarring me... Talk to us....”

Her dad’s voice came out shaking and panicking as he was so scared to death seeing his daughter wearing only a blank facial expression.

Izzabelle finally came back to her senses as she shook her head several times.

“I was just overwhelmed by the truth dad. I‘ve misunderstood him for too long... all this time I thought he chose to leave me behind but I’m totally wrong....” She answered truthfully and painfully realizing her own mistake of judgement.

Suddenly she thought of something. Then she wiped her tears immediately and inhaled deeply and sharply.

Regaining her best composure, she began to focus on thinking about her plans. She needed to take immediate action or she might be too late. He might be still alive right now.

She knows exactly what his Uncle Daniel wanted from her and she would gladly do it. 

She would try every means to locate him using her abilities and capabilities as well as her resources. She would also dig out everything about everything happened in the past.

"Uncle Daniel, please trust me... I will do my best to find him!" She promised the older Scott solemnly.

Mr. Scott looked at her with appreciation and managed to give out a stern nod then he mouthed, "Thank you!"

Izzabelle just nodded her head in acknowledgment.
