CHAPTER 42

**Cassie’s POV**

I yawned and saw my Marion wake up like this. He is looking at nothingness, and I can't help but cackle. My son is so cute! And he looks exactly like his dad.

At least I can still remember Kaiden's face because of my son.

I smiled sadly, but I also changed my expression as fast as I could. I do not want him to see me this way—sad, I guess.

"What do you want for breakfast, my little young man?" I asked him. He smiled and he told me to have crispy fried bacon and ham as well.

I accompany him inside the bathroom and let him do his morning routine. After freshening up, we are good to go.

There are plenty of appliances and things here inside, provided by Uncle Mason. So there is no problem for us since there is a fridge and gas stove, and we can now cook for our breakfast.

I sighed and imagined that it had only been a few weeks since Kaiden was gone, for real.

It feels off, to be honest—not just off but empty inside of our hearts.
