CHAPTER 283

~3RD PERSON'S POV~

Mary, Melody, and Clarabelle arrived in a black car in front of the mansion of Queen Elizabeth of Westerville. The mansion had numerous trees standing along the tall fence that surrounded the building. The building's main colors were white and golden-yellow; the only other colors that could be spotted were the different shades of green in the gardens and the dark and light colors of the cars and carriages that sat on one side of the building.

Multiple security guards wearing military uniforms stood at different positions around the building, with four of them standing at the gates, a total of eight standing along the path toward the mansion’s main entrance, and another four standing at the main entrance. There were more guards around the building, but many of them were hidden.

The driver parked the car in front of the golden gates, then got out of the car. The driver was a warrior wolf of Lady Anaya who continued working for Mary and Edith after Lady An

CHAPTER 284~3RD PERSON'S POV~Mary could feel a sense of warmth on her skin. The sounds of people screaming filled her ears, and the smell of flesh and blood filled her nostrils. She lay unconscious on a rough surface—she wasn't fully unconscious, though; she could somehow sense everything that was happening around her. A warm gust of wind blew over her face, and her eyes swung open. She drew in a heavy breath, then sat up quickly, panting heavily. She looked around, her face slowly contouring with confusion. “Huh?” Mary quickly got up from where she sat, the expression on her face going from confusion to shock as she saw the large flames rising from all the buildings around her. She could hear screams from people in agony but could not see anyone around. The streets were empty, and nothing but ash floated around in the wind. Mary let out slow breaths as she quickly realized that she was on a building top somewhere in Mystic Meadow. A bolt of lightning flashed in the red sky, and

CHAPTER 285~3RD PERSON'S POV~Queen Elizabeth sat beside Mary on the bed; her eyes were almost shut, and she let out slow, soft breaths. Both her arms were missing, and the bed was almost completely soaked with her blood. She could barely move—her skin had become pale and lifeless, and the shine in her eyes had dimmed out.It was evident that she was knocking on death's door.Melody walked silently to the bed and picked Mary up. Mary hadn't fully gone unconscious, but she still didn't have the strength to move her body. Her eyes were heavy and had dark sacks underneath them. She turned to Melody and stared at him for a moment through her blurry vision, then let out a sigh and shut her eyes.“You’re safe now, Mary. I'm sorry I came late,” Melody said softly, then turned to the door. As he walked toward the door, Elizabeth let out a sore groan to draw his attention.Melody turned to her, and she struggled to speak. “The… w—wardrobe,” she said, then continued panting. CHAPTER 286~3RD PERSON'S POV~~Willowcrest~Marie, Valerie, and Angela arrived in a carriage at the only Higher Wellness Pharmaceuticals building in Willowcrest. They didn't bother dressing beautifully or wearing any disguises to hide their identities, as they were only here for two things: to ask questions and to cause destruction. They each had blank expressions on their faces and walked stylishly toward the front gates. The guards at the gates walked in front of them to stop them from going any further. Marie just waved her right hand, and as if commanding gravity itself to let them go, the guards started to levitate. They continued to rise into the air, yelling for help.Marie and her sisters stopped in front of the gates, and Marie raised her right palm toward them. She curled her fingers slowly, and the metal bars started to rumple. The gates were ripped off their hinges and crushed until they were nothing but a large metal ball. Marie dropped her hand again, and the ball fell

All the soldiers who stood beside him also raised their guns toward Marie and her sister. Marie's brows furrowed, and she squinted her eyes at Siege. “Where is Professor Joseph?” she asked.“I’m sorry, I don't know who that is,” Siege replied with a smirk, then began blasting bullets at the girls. All the other soldiers also pulled their triggers, firing randomly at will. Marie carried a blank expression on her face, staring at Siege as all the bullets slowed down and came to a stop in front of her and her sisters. The soldiers emptied their magazines and finally stopped shooting. All the bullets, which hung in the air, dropped to the ground, making clunking sounds as they bounced off the metal floor. Marie let out a sigh, then asked, “I’m going to ask you again. Where is Professor Joseph?” “Eat dirt, b*tch!” Siege responded

CHAPTER 288~3RD PERSON'S POV~~Mystic Meadow~Herculia still sat in front of the door. Her hands were still cuffed together, and she looked like she was about to fall asleep. Dark sacks had formed beneath her eyes, and her throat felt dry.No maid had come by to give them food or water since Mary locked them inside the room, and they had no way of communicating with anyone as it was very unlikely that a maid would venture into this part of the building. Herculia let out a long groan and rested her forehead on the door. “Mary’s not coming back, is she? I'm so thirsty. Aren't you thirsty, Ezekiel?” She asked softly. “That’s the least of my worries right now,” Ezekiel's voice sounded after a few seconds. Herculia quickly turned around and found Ezekiel trying to rearrange the bandage that was tied around his wound. The bandage was now soaked in his blood, and blood dripped from it down to the ground, and ran from the wound along his right arm.“You’re bleeding? I thought Nicole healed

CHAPTER 289~3RD PERSON’S POV~Valerie clenched her teeth tightly as she struggled to pull on a large lever hanging on a wall in the room where the two hundred platforms slowly slid toward their dooms. Even with her werewolf strength, her efforts were to no avail, as the lever was built to resist even the strongest werewolves. Angela, on the other hand, tried multiple codes on another device sitting on a tall podium at the entrance to the room. She used her werewolf speed to try multiple codes in only a few seconds. But even with her speed, she had only tried 300 different combinations out of over eleven billion. Meanwhile, Marie used her speed to release the people one by one from the platforms they lay on. The cuffs that were used to tie their hands and feet to the platform were made of thick, heavy metal, so they were difficult to pull apart. She tried as hard as she could, but she was still too slow. There were two hundred people to rescue, but she has only been able to release

Steven, Derren, and Maria were still unconscious and lay on three different beds with white sheets and wooden frames. “I don't know; I'm just glad we were able to get everyone out on time. Now that we have Professor Joseph in our custody as well as Evelyn, we can force them to tell us where Firgatten is and confess to the public that the drug is dangerous and unstable. That should stop everyone from taking the drug if they haven't already taken the complete dosage required for transformation and addiction,” Marie replied, letting out a sigh of relief.“Where did you move all 200 werewolves to?” Clarabelle asked.“We contacted Co

She walked back to her seat, pulled it out, and sat down.“You really think this'll be resolved soon? Don't you see that this is also a part of the grand scheme. This black out is to make sure no one knows about the shit down of Higher Wellness Pharmaceuticals. It’s to make sure everyone continues to trust the drug for the next two hours. This is the reason why higher wellness pharmaceuticals has only one branch, so that the news of its shut down doesn't reach the people on time,” Joseph said, staring into Kathrin's eyes.“Okay, So, what exactly caused this black out? Magic? An explosion? Something else?” Kathrin asked, she still maintained her calm demeanour so she could get as much information from Joseph as she could. Her facial expression was unchanged and her fingers were locked together in an interlace.“N

They had been waiting for Marie and the others to return for hours, but there was no sign of them returning at all.Clarabelle did well to protect everyone from the intense heat, and now that the sun had moved away from the earth, she was sure that Marie and her friends had won the battle. In fact, as the Immortal of Fate, she already knew they would win, and she already knew who would bring that victory, but she wasn't allowed to say a word to anyone. What she wasn't sure of was if they had survived or not, because she refused to look that far into the future.“Do you think they'll return safely?” Maria asked with worry in her voice. She has lost her husband before and was very afraid of losing him again.Clarabelle turned to her and saw the worry in her eyes, then turned away. “Let’s just be hopeful,” she said softly. A f

I put you to sleep for over four months to get some things done in your world. Now that my plot is complete, I'd like you to return and continue living the life you've always wanted,” Lunaris said with a smile.“Oh, you mean I didn't have to die for you to take my body?” Gabriella asked.“Yes, Gabriella. If everyone knew that you were still alive, they would not have grown as much as they have now... especially Marie. I had to make everyone believe that your death was necessary for me to come to this world, so that the plot I couldn't finish years ago would finally be completed,” Lunaris responded.“Oh, I can't believe it's been four months already. CHAPTER 307~3RD PERSON’S POV~Marie and her sisters, Cortana and Yuna, sat inside a large metal dome created by Angela. Angla had created multiple domes like this to accommodate the entire army of Vedantya, and this was because the temperature of the atmosphere has risen to an unbearable level. Daniella used her manipulation of heat to cool down the domes so the occupants wouldn't die of heat stroke. The air around the domes looked like it had been stained with gasoline fumes, and rocks around them had begun melting.Valerie tried again and again to open a portal but failed every single time. The spell that blocked her ability to use spatial magic wasn't very powerful but was somehow too complex for her to undo. It was like the spell reformed itself at light speed every time she broke it, and there was no way of stopping it.“This is bad. If we stay here longer than this, the whole world is going to melt down,” Angela said with worry on her face.“No, we can't give up yet; I'm sure I

CHAPTER 306~3RD PERSON’S POV~“What have you done to me?!!” Agnes yelled with a gory voice.“I poisoned you, Agnes. Ordinarily, poison wouldn't be enough to kill a witch like you, but depending on how powerful the poison is, it would be enough to weaken you. The souls of the fallen Immortals despise you, Agnes. But as much as they want to escape, as souls, they're not nearly strong enough to go against the spell you put on them. It's just like Sabbath and Mary; without Mary's body, Sabbath can't use his power. So, without Agnes's body, the immortals are weak to her spells. But spells require serious mental concentration and physical reinforcement to hold together, and once those two things weaken, the spell comes apart and the souls of the Immortals have their chance to escape.” Agnes gripped her stomach tightly as she felt an agonizing pain coming up. She bled from her nose and mouth as the souls of all the Immortals began seeping out of her body and flying off. “After the Immor

You’ll end up hurting everyone around you,” Agnes said. “But I’ll have you to slap me back to my senses before that happens, right?” Mary said.Agnes smiled. “Yeah, but next time I’ll make sure to slap you even harder so you get knocked out before coming back to your senses.” Both she and Mary laughed together, and the four teachers just stared at them with confused expressions on their faces.~•••~“I lied to you the other day, Mary. CHAPTER 304~3RD PERSON’S POV~Mary was accompanied into the building by a group of four people. Two of them were maids, and the other two were Agnes’s soldiers. All four of them still had that eerie smile on their faces, and their eyes still glowed bright red, making them look like their minds were being controlled. They walked into the glass building and led Mary to a magical elevator that didn’t require electricity to work. Mary had her guard up, prepared to launch an attack at anyone who tried to annoy her. At this moment, she was already very pissed off, and anyone who tried to attack her now would be walking into their grave. The elevator door closed and started to rise up the building. Everyone was unusually quiet, and none of Mary’s escorts wanted to make eye contact with her. Mary watched them through the glass wall in front of her—they looked like dolls, stiff and lifeless, like they had been programmed to only move when they were given orders. The elevator rose for over tw

It didn't matter what the team did or what amount of power they used; the Asuras just kept coming like an endless sea of stars. The Asuras armor-like skin had become so strong that Edith's blade and Anima Morning Star both broke on impact. The two Immortals had to summon their weapons again and again during the fight just to avoid getting killed. They had to look for a new way to kill these Immortals, and that way was to attack them at points where their armour didn't cover—the gaps in the skin that revealed their glowing orange flesh. Targeting these parts was especially difficult for the werewolves because they didn't have long-range weapons, and getting too close t
