CHAPTER 268

~3RD PERSON'S POV~

“So, cosmic power is used the same way among divine beings. Different Immortals might use it to produce different forms of energy and all there is to matter, but the process of production is the same—the flow of energy through your blood vessels and around your body—it's all the same, and I'm guessing it's the same with you, heralds,” Anima explained with a blank expression on her face.

She and the three Heralds stood in a large, empty room that was big enough for them to release their full powers without causing damage to the main building.

“From what you told me, you three have already begun using your abilities at their most basic levels. Marie is able to steal and return magical energy to whoever and whatever she pleases; Valerie is able to create matter out of thin air; and Angela is able to bend energy to her will,” Anima continued.

“Wait, I can do that? I always thought I was just the smart one among them,” Angela asked with surprise on her

CHAPTER 269~3RD PERSON POV~Mary and Cortana arrived at Yajurveda on a speedboat. The island was very large and was covered in nothing but grass. There were no trees or significantly large bushes, just knee-level grass. Mary scanned through the landscape with her eyes, looking to see if she would find anything moving on the land, but they were still too far away from it for her to be able to see anything clearly.Cortana, on the other hand, just sat quietly in the boat, awaiting the moment where she would meet her ancestor, Yuna Teragon. She wondered about her significance to the mission and what it would mean for her to meet Yuna. “So, what do you think Yuna Teragon is going to be like?” Mary asked, turning in Cortana’s direction.“I don't know. Teragon history makes her out to be a cheater, a traitor, and a liar, but these people call her a queen and a warrior. So right now, I'm conflicted. I don't know what to believe anymore. Let's just wait until we meet her,” Cortana replied.

CHAPTER 270~3RD PERSON’S POV~Rubble and pieces of burnt wood were spread around the area where the large architectural artwork that was the Mortimer mansion once stood. The bars of the metal gates and the large fence that surrounded the house were in pieces, and the smell of ash and burned leaves from the rose gardens filled the air. Yellow caution tape ran around the remains of the building like it was a crime scene, but there was no one in sight.A black car pulled over in front of the remains of the Mortimer mansion. The car’s windows were tinted so the driver couldn't be seen by anyone outside, but the name of the car’s owner was clearly written on its license plate: Evelyn. Evelyn stared at the rubble through the windshield, tightly gripping her steering wheel. “The house is destroyed—that’s obvious. Did people die here? The glaring smell of flesh and blood says so, but there’s no way to know for sure. Where the hell did Marie call from, though?” Evelyn asked, her brows furrow

CHAPTER 271~3RD PERSON'S POV~Anima pulled her massive morning star across the marble floor, dragging a line through it as she ran toward Velarie. Stone and sand flew off the ground along the path the weapon created, and Anima carried a terrifying look on her face, her teeth clenched tightly and her brows tightly furrowed in rage. She pulled her right hand upward, dragging the heavy metal ball up toward Valerie’s face. Valerie was quick enough to step backwards and avoid the sharp spikes of the ball by only an inch. The ball rose higher into the air, extending the chain that connected it to its handle a far distance above the ground. When it was high enough, Anima turned around and pulled it toward the ground again, this time toward Marie, who was running toward her. Marie quickly hopped out of the way, and the ball crashed into the ground, digging through it and following her as she ran toward the right. Valerie swung her broad sword toward Anima's head, and Anima quickly used t

What do you think you're doing?” Valerie yelled as she watched Marie walk away.“Valerie, this has to be done if I'm to reach my true potential. I thought I could keep my emotions and also gain all of my abilities, but now I'm presented with a choice between the two, and I have to choose what's right—I have to choose what’s good for us—power,” Marie replied, stopping before the former Heralds. “Marie, if you give up your emotions, then ours will be gone as well. Since when did you become so power-hungry that you forgot about everything you've been through to get here? You're willing to turn your back on everything to be some divine being who doesn't give a shit about the lives of people?” Valerie yelled.Marie remained silent, a light whisk of wind blowing t

She carried a blank expression on her face and tightly gripped the protective railing that went around the tiled ground on which she stood. The wind blew through her hair and through her short-sleeved dress, her skirt dancing randomly to its soft fluttering sounds. Memories of their encounter with the former Heralds went back and forth in her head as she felt the cold breeze on her skin. Different emotions ran through her heart, and different thoughts went through her head. She was conflicted, not knowing whether to feel regret or happiness for the outcome of the encounter. She closed her eyes and let out a sigh, then loosened her grip on the railing.“Why did you suddenly have a change of heart?” Valerie’s voice sounded from behind her. “Huh?” Marie quickly turned around.Valerie walked over to where Marie stood, hopped from the ground, and landed feet first on the

You're so big, strong, and beautiful,” Yuna said, grabbing Cortana’s cheeks and pulling them gently.“Thank… you?” Cortana said.“Wait, you're a werewolf, right? I think my husband and kids were part werewolf. I'm sure the entire bloodline is now nothing but werewolves. Oh my, I've been away for so long that I don't even remember my husband's or children's names. I'm sure they grew up to be really successful and strong people. I'm hoping my husband didn't miss me too much.” Yuna continued, turning away from Cortana and placing her palms on her head.“Wait, you do know your husband and children are all dead, right?” Mary asked.“Well, yeah, I've been away for a very long time—longer than they can live.

CHAPTER 275~3RD PERSON'S POV~“Yuna Teragon has refused to join us in our fight against Agnes, and Cortana has chosen to stay with her there in the spirit realm to fight off the Asuras,” Mary said with a beaten expression on her face. Everyone had returned from their search for Yuna Teragon and was now sitting at a round table in a meeting room in the hotel.“Wow, so this was a total waste of time. What's our next move now?” Herculia asked.“Who is the next Immortal on our list?” Nicole asked.“Let's see, we’re supposed to find Avia Ignius, the Immortal of Phoenix Magic; Episteme Psyches, the Immortal of knowledge; and Edith Anima, the Immortal of life and light. The moon goddess said these Immortals are easy to find, and we don't really need to do anything. We could just give Daniela a phone call and wait for the other two to cross paths with us,” Mary replied.“But we can't just sit and wait; we have to begin planning on how to infiltrate Firgatten. Her face had become pale and was covered in sweat; her eyes were half closed, and her body shivered. Her temperature was slowly rising by the second. “Driver, take us to the nearest hospital quickly; my friend isn't feeling very well,” Mary yelled worriedly, turning to the small mirror hanging above the windscreen. The driver nodded and was about to make a turn at a junction.“No!! Do not change the direction of the vehicle. Take us to the address we originally gave you,” Edith yelled with a sudden burst of anger.“But Edith, you're only getting worse. If we don't take you to a hospital, something bad might happen to you,” Mary said softly. Her eyes were beaming with concern, and traces of it lingered in her voice.Edith placed her righ

Because of this, Steven’s company was unaffected by Evelyn’s actions, and the criminals involved were convicted secretly by the council. They had been waiting for Marie and the others to return for hours, but there was no sign of them returning at all.Clarabelle did well to protect everyone from the intense heat, and now that the sun had moved away from the earth, she was sure that Marie and her friends had won the battle. In fact, as the Immortal of Fate, she already knew they would win, and she already knew who would bring that victory, but she wasn't allowed to say a word to anyone. What she wasn't sure of was if they had survived or not, because she refused to look that far into the future.“Do you think they'll return safely?” Maria asked with worry in her voice. She has lost her husband before and was very afraid of losing him again.Clarabelle turned to her and saw the worry in her eyes, then turned away. “Let’s just be hopeful,” she said softly. A f

I put you to sleep for over four months to get some things done in your world. Now that my plot is complete, I'd like you to return and continue living the life you've always wanted,” Lunaris said with a smile.“Oh, you mean I didn't have to die for you to take my body?” Gabriella asked.“Yes, Gabriella. If everyone knew that you were still alive, they would not have grown as much as they have now... especially Marie. I had to make everyone believe that your death was necessary for me to come to this world, so that the plot I couldn't finish years ago would finally be completed,” Lunaris responded.“Oh, I can't believe it's been four months already. • MATED TO THE RUTHLESS LYCAN KING   CHAPTER 307: HER RESURRECTION

CHAPTER 307~3RD PERSON’S POV~Marie and her sisters, Cortana and Yuna, sat inside a large metal dome created by Angela. Angla had created multiple domes like this to accommodate the entire army of Vedantya, and this was because the temperature of the atmosphere has risen to an unbearable level. Daniella used her manipulation of heat to cool down the domes so the occupants wouldn't die of heat stroke. The air around the domes looked like it had been stained with gasoline fumes, and rocks around them had begun melting.Valerie tried again and again to open a portal but failed every single time. The spell that blocked her ability to use spatial magic wasn't very powerful but was somehow too complex for her to undo. It was like the spell reformed itself at light speed every time she broke it, and there was no way of stopping it.“This is bad. If we stay here longer than this, the whole world is going to melt down,” Angela said with worry on her face.“No, we can't give up yet; I'm sure I

CHAPTER 306~3RD PERSON’S POV~“What have you done to me?!!” Agnes yelled with a gory voice.“I poisoned you, Agnes. Ordinarily, poison wouldn't be enough to kill a witch like you, but depending on how powerful the poison is, it would be enough to weaken you. The souls of the fallen Immortals despise you, Agnes. But as much as they want to escape, as souls, they're not nearly strong enough to go against the spell you put on them. It's just like Sabbath and Mary; without Mary's body, Sabbath can't use his power. So, without Agnes's body, the immortals are weak to her spells. But spells require serious mental concentration and physical reinforcement to hold together, and once those two things weaken, the spell comes apart and the souls of the Immortals have their chance to escape.” Agnes gripped her stomach tightly as she felt an agonizing pain coming up. She bled from her nose and mouth as the souls of all the Immortals began seeping out of her body and flying off. “After the Immor

You’ll end up hurting everyone around you,” Agnes said. “But I’ll have you to slap me back to my senses before that happens, right?” Mary said.Agnes smiled. “Yeah, but next time I’ll make sure to slap you even harder so you get knocked out before coming back to your senses.” Both she and Mary laughed together, and the four teachers just stared at them with confused expressions on their faces.~•••~“I lied to you the other day, Mary. CHAPTER 304~3RD PERSON’S POV~Mary was accompanied into the building by a group of four people. Two of them were maids, and the other two were Agnes’s soldiers. All four of them still had that eerie smile on their faces, and their eyes still glowed bright red, making them look like their minds were being controlled. They walked into the glass building and led Mary to a magical elevator that didn’t require electricity to work. Mary had her guard up, prepared to launch an attack at anyone who tried to annoy her. At this moment, she was already very pissed off, and anyone who tried to attack her now would be walking into their grave. The elevator door closed and started to rise up the building. Everyone was unusually quiet, and none of Mary’s escorts wanted to make eye contact with her. Mary watched them through the glass wall in front of her—they looked like dolls, stiff and lifeless, like they had been programmed to only move when they were given orders. The elevator rose for over tw

They all fought with rage in their hearts, determined to end the battle as quickly as possible, but the Asuras were just too many. It didn't matter what the team did or what amount of power they used; the Asuras just kept coming like an endless sea of stars. The Asuras armor-like skin had become so strong that Edith's blade and Anima Morning Star both broke on impact. The two Immortals had to summon their weapons again and again during the fight just to avoid getting killed. They had to look for a new way to kill these Immortals, and that way was to attack them at points where their armour didn't cover—the gaps in the skin that revealed their glowing orange flesh. Targeting these parts was especially difficult for the werewolves because they didn't have long-range weapons, and getting too close t

They both had already seen the helicopter fly off, so they knew Mary was already going against her parents. Their only problem was getting to the forcefield, as the distance it was from where they opened their portal was too much. “Hey, couldn't you just use spacial magic to take us there? It's starting to look like this forest is playing tricks on us,” Melody asked, turning to Nicole.Nicole looked around, her eyes scanning past each tree, shrub, and rock. “I can't use spacial magic or any other kind of magic. Something is blocking me from doing it. This is bad; it means we can't teleport home unless we can find a place where I will be able to use spatial magic,” she responded. “But you're right,” she continued, then stopped
