CHAPTER 250

~3RD PERSON’S POV~

Joseph and Elizabeth got up from their couches to greet Steven and Derren. The soldier who accompanied them bowed to Elizabeth and left the room.

Steven and Derren walked over to them, the sound of their shoes clashing against the marble floor echoing in the large room. They all sat back down, Derren sitting beside Elizabeth and Steven sitting beside Joseph, and after a moment of silence, the meeting began.

“I believe this is the first time we’ve met, Professor Joseph,” Steven said.

Joseph smiled, then replied, “Yes, it is. And I must say it is quite a pleasure to be sitting in front of the head of the council and an alpha among the werewolf species. If I had known you were the guest her majesty was talking about, I would have dressed more formally for this meeting.”

“This is Alpha Derren; I’m sure you guys met before the war. He donated his energy to the military to use against the abyss demons,” Steven said, turning in Derren’s direction and turning

The fence was made of thick, dark gray copper wires that were tangled around each other to create a large mesh.During the night, this fence was super charged with electric current to prevent unwanted guests from breaking in, but for some reason, it wasn't on tonight, probably because of the arrival of the black car that had just driven in.Derren's car was hidden somewhere in the bushes, where none of the security would be able to spot it. They both wore black face masks, dark shades, and black clothing that would blend them very well into the night. They made sure not to activate their werewolf abilities so much as to alert the artificials that they were in the area. Derren and Steven watched quietly as the car came to a stop in front of the main building. The door at the driver's seat swung open slowly, and the door at the passenger's side opene

His goal here was to pose as a reporter for a big TV station that wanted to create a show about the company, Higher Wellness Pharmaceuticals.Higher Wellness Pharmaceuticals was a fast-growing company that had already spread its delivery reach to various parts of the world. It became very popular over a few months after it was first opened and was soon named number one in the drug manufacturing market. They mostly specialized in the manufacture of anti-inflammatory drugs that they promised weren't addictive, and this was tested by various drug agencies around the world and found to be true. Their factory was written about so many times in didn't articles and spoken about on the news, and there was nothing illegal about this company. The factory contained a whole network of machines that had different purposes, ranging from mixing to filling and packaging. These machines were operated by different factory workers who wore different colored uniforms to indicate which team they belonged to.The CEO gave him a tour, explaining how the machines worked and how the scientists and lab technicians measured and mixed the chemicals contained in the medicines so as not to compromise on their quality and overall efficiency. Everyone in the factory worked together as a single unit to make sure their products were the best, and nothing seemed suspicious about this place. Although all the processes seemed smooth and clean, Gregory felt something was off. All the factory workers never made eye contact with him or each other. They never smiled, laughed, or even spoke.

CHAPTER 254~3RD PERSON’S POV~Mary and the other girls arrived back at Anaya's home the morning they left the Mortimer mansion. They brought Cortana and Clarabelle with them to help look for the next Immortal on their list, Yuna Teragon. Cortana's purpose on the mission to find Yuna was unclear to Mary or Nicole, but she was brought along anyway because the moon goddess said it was important. The car stopped in front of the gate, and Edith honked repeatedly to alert the warrior wolves of their arrival. To her surprise, no one answered. “Your security fell asleep; how stupid,” Herculia said with an indifferent tone, carrying a blank expression on her face. Edith’s brows furrowed as she stared at the gates. Looking between the gate’s bars, the front yard looked clean, and everything seemed normal, but something felt off.“Edith, is something wrong?” Mary asked.“Yes, something's really wrong. Everyone, stay inside the car and stay silent. I'll go check what's going on,” Edith replie

CHAPTER 255~3RD PERSON’S POV~Mary stood in front of Anaya's house, staring quietly as large flames rose from its wooden remains. Only the sound of the burning wood, crackling, and rustling filled the deafening silence in the atmosphere. A lot of things ran through her head at this moment, and everyone stayed behind her so she could think carefully about what she would do next. She stood at that one spot for over an hour, watching unendingly until the flames went out, leaving nothing but ash and despair.Nicole walked over to where she stood and placed her left palm on her shoulder. “Mary, we should go. The sooner we find other Immortals, the sooner we can set your parents free from Agnes’s magic. Your parents are the most powerful witches in Firgatten, and right now we are not enough to face both them and Solis,” Nicole said softly. She walked over to Mary's front and placed her right palm on her other shoulder.“I know you're sad, but you have to be strong for them and for the e

CHAPTER 256~3RD PERSON'S POV~The murmuring of maids and the clicking of their shoes against the wooden floor were some of the sounds that could be heard in the mansion. Females giggling and slicing off leaves could be heard in the gardens, and even louder murmuring from the cafeteria. Marie sat at a table by herself, staring at the soup in her bowl. Her eyes were focused on the meal, but she carried a blank expression on her face, her eyes seemingly distant from the reality in front of her. She used the spoon to slowly stir the soup, then pulled it out of the bowl and placed it between her lips.“Hey!” Cynthia’s voice sounded as she dropped onto the seat opposite Marie, breaking her out of her mental stillness. The spoon dropped from Marie’s hand back into the bowl, and she raised her eyes slowly to meet Cynthia's.She assessed Cynthia's face for a moment, then asked softly, “You seem really happy today. What's going on?” “Well, I was finally able to get the warrior wolves to get

She opened her eyes slowly, then sat up, looking around in an attempt to figure out where she was. Her vision was a little blurry, but after sighting a few familiar objects, she came to the conclusion that she was in her bedroom. Her room was empty, but she could hear the giggles of the maids walking through the passages around it.“What happened?” She asked softly. She moved her legs to the ground and tried to get up. As she rose from the bed, her hips creaked like an old wooden door, and she dropped to the ground with a loud thud.“Hmm, my legs are unusually weak,” she thought to herself, staring at her thighs. She turned back to the door, squinting her eyes to get a clearer view of it. She used her right fist to rub her eyes repeatedly to see if her vision would get any clearer, then placed her palms on the bed to pull herself off the ground. Her legs shook vigorously like a lea

CHAPTER 258 ~3RD PERSON’S POV~ Slow and long gasps for air echoed faintly in a dimly lit room. The room was a large hall that contained numerous beds that looked like they were made from stone. Different people lay unconsciously on these beds, and long wires and tubes hung from their bodies and from the surface they rested upon. Some of the people that were here looked very malnourished, and others looked like they weren't alive at all. They were all different people—male and female—with different body types and skin colors, but they all had one thing in common: they were all werewolves. This was a place where werewolves were drained of their essence to create the drug that would change humanity forever. The sound of breathing came again from the far end of the dark hall—it was Steven. He wasn't completely unconscious, but he lacked the strength to move even his finger. Only he had a mask on his face that constantly fed him the gas that was used to sedate him and Derren.

In fact, as the Immortal of Fate, she already knew they would win, and she already knew who would bring that victory, but she wasn't allowed to say a word to anyone. What she wasn't sure of was if they had survived or not, because she refused to look that far into the future.“Do you think they'll return safely?” Maria asked with worry in her voice. She has lost her husband before and was very afraid of losing him again.Clarabelle turned to her and saw the worry in her eyes, then turned away. “Let’s just be hopeful,” she said softly. A f

CHAPTER 307~3RD PERSON’S POV~Marie and her sisters, Cortana and Yuna, sat inside a large metal dome created by Angela. Angla had created multiple domes like this to accommodate the entire army of Vedantya, and this was because the temperature of the atmosphere has risen to an unbearable level. Daniella used her manipulation of heat to cool down the domes so the occupants wouldn't die of heat stroke. The air around the domes looked like it had been stained with gasoline fumes, and rocks around them had begun melting.Valerie tried again and again to open a portal but failed every single time. The spell that blocked her ability to use spatial magic wasn't very powerful but was somehow too complex for her to undo. It was like the spell reformed itself at light speed every time she broke it, and there was no way of stopping it.“This is bad. If we stay here longer than this, the whole world is going to melt down,” Angela said with worry on her face.“No, we can't give up yet; I'm sure I

CHAPTER 306~3RD PERSON’S POV~“What have you done to me?!!” Agnes yelled with a gory voice.“I poisoned you, Agnes. Ordinarily, poison wouldn't be enough to kill a witch like you, but depending on how powerful the poison is, it would be enough to weaken you. The souls of the fallen Immortals despise you, Agnes. But as much as they want to escape, as souls, they're not nearly strong enough to go against the spell you put on them. It's just like Sabbath and Mary; without Mary's body, Sabbath can't use his power. So, without Agnes's body, the immortals are weak to her spells. But spells require serious mental concentration and physical reinforcement to hold together, and once those two things weaken, the spell comes apart and the souls of the Immortals have their chance to escape.” Agnes gripped her stomach tightly as she felt an agonizing pain coming up. She bled from her nose and mouth as the souls of all the Immortals began seeping out of her body and flying off. “After the Immor

They walked into the glass building and led Mary to a magical elevator that didn’t require electricity to work. Mary had her guard up, prepared to launch an attack at anyone who tried to annoy her. At this moment, she was already very pissed off, and anyone who tried to attack her now would be walking into their grave. The elevator door closed and started to rise up the building. Everyone was unusually quiet, and none of Mary’s escorts wanted to make eye contact with her. They all fought with rage in their hearts, determined to end the battle as quickly as possible, but the Asuras were just too many. It didn't matter what the team did or what amount of power they used; the Asuras just kept coming like an endless sea of stars. The Asuras armor-like skin had become so strong that Edith's blade and Anima Morning Star both broke on impact. The two Immortals had to summon their weapons again and again during the fight just to avoid getting killed. They had to look for a new way to kill these Immortals, and that way was to attack them at points where their armour didn't cover—the gaps in the skin that revealed their glowing orange flesh. Targeting these parts was especially difficult for the werewolves because they didn't have long-range weapons, and getting too close t
