CHAPTER 114

~3RD PERSON’S POV~

~DARK MOON PACK~

Somewhere beneath the Mortimer mansion, where no light reached, Gregory walked silently in a small room. Its walls were painted dark gray, and there was only one lightbulb hanging from its ceiling. The clinking of chains came from a completely dark end of the room, and after a few moments, a voice followed.

“What are you doing here?"

Gregory let out a sigh and crouched down. “My alpha asked me to check if you were still alive, so I’ll be taking my leave now.” Gregroy stood up again and turned around. He was about to leave when the man in the darkness spoke again.

“Why are you keeping me here? It’s been years. Just end my life so I can rest in peace,” he said with a hoarse voice.

“You know, that’s exactly what we don’t want. After all the atrocities you’ve committed against werewolfkind, you deserve nothing but a painful, miserable life. I want to make sure you go through hell here, just in case you manage dodging the actual hell,” Gregor

He’s committed heinous atrocities, and it’s been years since we kept him down there. Isn’t it for the best if he just ends up dying?” Gregory asked. He sat on the other side of Steven’s desk inside his office. Steven leaned forward, locked his fingers together, and rested his elbows on the table. “What do you think my reasons are?” Steven asked, staring directly into Gregory’s eyes. He carried a blank, emotionless expression on his face; it seemed the happiness he had in his eyes before Gabriella left was completely gone.“Well, I don’t know; that’s why I’m asking,” Gregory replied.“Of course you don’t. A while ago, I got information that Alpha Derren killed the rouge king and put an end to the rogues forever,” Steven said.“But that’s impossible; the rogue king is in our custody; he’s been here for years,” Gregory said with s

The party isn't over yet.”“Excuse me?” Anaya asked.“Your fellow council members threw a party to celebrate you; don't you think it's a bit rude to just walk out like that? The main event hasn't even started yet." The man said with a smirk, his eyes still glowing bright red.“Get your filthy hand off me. I remain your superior until I step down, and I will leave whenever I please,” Anaya yelled, pulling her hand out of his tight grip.“Oooh, why so aggressive? We're only trying to be good friends and colleagues,” he said, moving back slowly."Oh, please, you can drop the act now. I know exactly what's going on here. I saw through your schemes the moment I stepped through that door. Where are the real council members?” Anaya asked, her eyes glowing a golden yellow.“Hahahaha. She usually leaves about two hours in so she can come back home to rest for the next day.” Edith, who was standing behind Gabriella, replied.Gabriella let out a sigh and turned to a large clock in the passageway. “She’s already been gone for over an hour; if she takes too long, I’m going out to find her,” she said.“But you can’t do that, Miss Gabriella; you don’t even know the address where the celebration is being held, and Alpha Derren won’t even let you leave,” Edith said.“But something bad could happen at that celebration. She said it herself that the party is rigged,” Gabriella argued, turning to face Edith.“I know you’re worried about your mother, dear, but Anaya is far stronger than you might think. CHAPTER 118~3RD PERSON’S POV~Gabriella, Mary, Maria, Derren, and Anaya sat quietly in the dining room. The room was dimly lit, as only the light from candles that sat on the chandelier and hung on the walls could be seen. No one wanted to touch the food on their plates, as Anaya hadn’t touched hers. Mary stared at her meal silently, using her fork to play around with the strands of noodles, and Anaya stared at her.“Who really are you, and where did you come from?” Anaya asked Mary.Mary raised her head slowly and nervously replied, “Umm, my name is Mary. I was born in a place where the sun hardly hit, in a city really far away from here called The Forgotten. My parents moved here a while ago but died shortly after, leaving me with my madam, for whom I work at the boutique.”“The-Forgotten? I’ve never heard of that place before. Why is it called that?” Gabriella asked.“It’s located all the way on the other side of the earth. The city wasn’t always dark and grim. In fact, it was one

They were the ones who were sent to kidnap Gabriella’s friends.“Gabriella? Is she here? Was she the one who sent you guys?” one of the females asked. Both had black bags over their heads, and their hands were tied behind their backs.Gabriella stepped out of the mansion a few minutes later and walked through the gardens until she made it to where Derren sat. She saw the two girls on their knees, and Derren sat in front of them with his legs crossed, holding a glass of orange juice in his right hand.“Who are these?” Gabriella asked.“Gabriella? Is that you? Please tell these large men not to kill us; we haven’t done anything wrong." One of them spoke again, trying to break free from the ropes.“Marian? Lily?” Gabriella exclaimed in shock. The threat I speak of is one that could end all life as we know it, and I need all your assistance to stop it,” Anaya said.“First you deny humans the chance to lead the council, and now you need our help? You can count me and my people out,” Gerald said, then put down his mic. He was about to leave the meeting room when Anaya suddenly yelled.“SIT DOWN!"Gerald turned around to face Anaya, and she continued, “You should be very careful with the choices you make, all of you. I started working at the mansion when I was six years old, and Maria started when she was seven. A few months later, we met Gabriella and became inseparable,” Lily said, turning to lady Anaya.“Oh, so you were there before Gabriella came?” Anaya asked.“Yes, my lady. Gabriella’s appearance in the mansion came as a surprise to everyone, though. There was no news of her mother being pregnant or that she had given birth. She just one day revealed Gabriella was her daughter,” Marian answered.“Before Gabriella’s arrival, did Noah and Aralynn Montgomery have any other children?" Anaya asked.“No, she didn't; in fact, she was thought to be barren until Gabriela’s arrival. She had a second child after Gabriella, and for some reason, her attitude toward her changed. It makes me yearn even more to leave this mansion, but the barrier is still up, so I’m still stuck in here." Steven’s voice sounded in her head.“Well, at least you’re stuck in here with me; isn’t that a good thing?” Her voice followed.“Yeah… it is."She could clearly remember Steven's smile when they had this conversation. She let out a sigh and closed her eyes. “You miss him, don’t you?” Maria’s voice sounded from beside her. Gabriella immediately turned to her right and found Maria staring down at the gardens.“Maria, you’re here,” Gabriella said.“Yeah, I thought I’d drop by and have a little chat; there’s hardly any females where I and Derren stay,” Maria replied. Because of this, Steven’s company was unaffected by Evelyn’s actions, and the criminals involved were convicted secretly by the council. They had been waiting for Marie and the others to return for hours, but there was no sign of them returning at all.Clarabelle did well to protect everyone from the intense heat, and now that the sun had moved away from the earth, she was sure that Marie and her friends had won the battle. In fact, as the Immortal of Fate, she already knew they would win, and she already knew who would bring that victory, but she wasn't allowed to say a word to anyone. What she wasn't sure of was if they had survived or not, because she refused to look that far into the future.“Do you think they'll return safely?” Maria asked with worry in her voice. She has lost her husband before and was very afraid of losing him again.Clarabelle turned to her and saw the worry in her eyes, then turned away. “Let’s just be hopeful,” she said softly. A f

I put you to sleep for over four months to get some things done in your world. Now that my plot is complete, I'd like you to return and continue living the life you've always wanted,” Lunaris said with a smile.“Oh, you mean I didn't have to die for you to take my body?” Gabriella asked.“Yes, Gabriella. If everyone knew that you were still alive, they would not have grown as much as they have now... especially Marie. I had to make everyone believe that your death was necessary for me to come to this world, so that the plot I couldn't finish years ago would finally be completed,” Lunaris responded.“Oh, I can't believe it's been four months already. How's Marie and the others doing?

CHAPTER 307~3RD PERSON’S POV~Marie and her sisters, Cortana and Yuna, sat inside a large metal dome created by Angela. Angla had created multiple domes like this to accommodate the entire army of Vedantya, and this was because the temperature of the atmosphere has risen to an unbearable level. Daniella used her manipulation of heat to cool down the domes so the occupants wouldn't die of heat stroke. The air around the domes looked like it had been stained with gasoline fumes, and rocks around them had begun melting.Valerie tried again and again to open a portal but failed every single time. The spell that blocked her ability to use spatial magic wasn't very powerful but was somehow too complex for her to undo. It was like the spell reformed itself at light speed every time she broke it, and there was no way of stopping it.“This is bad. If we stay here longer than this, the whole world is going to melt down,” Angela said with worry on her face.“No, we can't give up yet; I'm sure I

CHAPTER 306~3RD PERSON’S POV~“What have you done to me?!!” Agnes yelled with a gory voice.“I poisoned you, Agnes. Ordinarily, poison wouldn't be enough to kill a witch like you, but depending on how powerful the poison is, it would be enough to weaken you. The souls of the fallen Immortals despise you, Agnes. But as much as they want to escape, as souls, they're not nearly strong enough to go against the spell you put on them. It's just like Sabbath and Mary; without Mary's body, Sabbath can't use his power. So, without Agnes's body, the immortals are weak to her spells. But spells require serious mental concentration and physical reinforcement to hold together, and once those two things weaken, the spell comes apart and the souls of the Immortals have their chance to escape.” Agnes gripped her stomach tightly as she felt an agonizing pain coming up. She bled from her nose and mouth as the souls of all the Immortals began seeping out of her body and flying off. “After the Immor

You’ll end up hurting everyone around you,” Agnes said. “But I’ll have you to slap me back to my senses before that happens, right?” Mary said.Agnes smiled. “Yeah, but next time I’ll make sure to slap you even harder so you get knocked out before coming back to your senses.” Both she and Mary laughed together, and the four teachers just stared at them with confused expressions on their faces.~•••~“I lied to you the other day, Mary. CHAPTER 304~3RD PERSON’S POV~Mary was accompanied into the building by a group of four people. Two of them were maids, and the other two were Agnes’s soldiers. All four of them still had that eerie smile on their faces, and their eyes still glowed bright red, making them look like their minds were being controlled. They walked into the glass building and led Mary to a magical elevator that didn’t require electricity to work. Mary had her guard up, prepared to launch an attack at anyone who tried to annoy her. At this moment, she was already very pissed off, and anyone who tried to attack her now would be walking into their grave. The elevator door closed and started to rise up the building. Everyone was unusually quiet, and none of Mary’s escorts wanted to make eye contact with her. Mary watched them through the glass wall in front of her—they looked like dolls, stiff and lifeless, like they had been programmed to only move when they were given orders. The elevator rose for over tw

It didn't matter what the team did or what amount of power they used; the Asuras just kept coming like an endless sea of stars. The Asuras armor-like skin had become so strong that Edith's blade and Anima Morning Star both broke on impact. The two Immortals had to summon their weapons again and again during the fight just to avoid getting killed. They had to look for a new way to kill these Immortals, and that way was to attack them at points where their armour didn't cover—the gaps in the skin that revealed their glowing orange flesh. Targeting these parts was especially difficult for the werewolves because they didn't have long-range weapons, and getting too close t
